Watching the two of you laughing together, at the end, is so sweet. I was smiling along with y’all. Sweet Andrea. She is missed.
Thanks for reminding me about this...had a good cry re watching.
I love this BEAUTIFUL lady RIP. This is real down to earth wholesome Famliy my pray is God protect her husband lighting his load and take any sorrow and turn it in too beautiful memories.💙💜
I just have to say I tried watching a couple other channels and, well, yours is the best.
Oh and I'm glad you found a good shredder. I've only had cheap ones. I gave up and started burning the paper in our outdoor grill.
My husband has a (rather large) Schrader wood burning stove in our barn (no animals! Just all of his tools and 'stuff') and we burn our papers in the stove!
Burning was another option; we do that in our fire pit. If there weren't so many to deal with, we might have just done that. They have used some of the shreds for fire starters.
1600 square feet is STILL small for 10 people! You do an amazing job having so many people under one roof and keeping life so organized! I've really enjoyed watching this series - I've read her book, too, and adore it! My husband and I just bought a house and will be moving in a couple months so we're working on decluttering and moving - the less to move, the better! Have a wonderful weekend, Andrea (and family!!)!!
When we cleaned out my in-laws home after they had passed away, we came across all of my hubby's report cards since first grade. He said he didn't know why his mom had saved them. He did not do well in school, but we did enjoy some of the teacher's comments, especially about his not paying attention like he should and talking out of turn in class lol.
I find Paperwork - multiplies - just Incredible ! You did a great job cutting back !
Andrea, I do believe our husbands are long lost twins! Ha!!! We have some things from my husband's childhood, talking about likes, and it's almost identical to Tom's! I'm laughing so much! :) (My husband is the head of IT and also has an arcade machine that he's programed to play all the arcade games from all the gaming systems.) The more I get to know your family, the more I wish we lived closer to each other!
That is a little uncanny! Where do you live?
We are in Wisconsin!
Your organization is inspiring to me - I am going category by category forcing myself to look only @ one area at a time, example: sweaters, pants, linens etc deciding what I want/ do nit want, folding things nicely, and relocating to a shelf, drawer, hanger where it makes sense - difficult to do but I can see the progress
I went through the KonMarie method earlier this year in the Spring and it was wonderful but was only my things and those for the children. Since then I have found more things that I need to get rid of that are family things which will be harder since I will need my husband's consent. I am enjoying watching your series. You are doing such a great job!
This is one vid I was hoping you would do. You seem to explain things so well. Thanks
800 sq feet...your a saint and an inspiration. keep up the great job!
Side note for in the future... In the Spring a lot of banks will have a Spring Cleaning Shred Day. They have a shredding truck there. You unload your papers and they place them right in the shredding truck. I often take papers and have them shredded those days.
❤️
When we were going through important papers a few weeks ago we found old library cards from the town we lived in 6 years ago, that expired before we moved! We now live on a different continent- why on earth do we hold onto so much junk? It feels so refreshing to get rid of it all
I agree! I found a $50 gift certificate for a restaurant and a birthday card with $20 in it. They were both 8 years old. Oh my...
This was helpful. And encouraging. I've got to get this started....paper decluttering
You are doing great! Thanks for sharing and inspiring us.....
I need to get organized, she can definitely motivate you. Xoxo DeeDee

Im the exact same, if i don't do things on the spot i forget! :p great help, thanks for tips and sharing what youve learned :)
I love your ideas idea! Lol!
Probably too late now but if you get tired of shredding - I like to just put all the papers in a plastic bag, fill it about half way with water, mush it together, stick it in the bathtub overnight, mush it again, and throw it in the garbage. The water smears everything so it can't be read.
Miss Andrea, perhaps save questions and do a Q&A video?
Question: do you take days off from homeschooling in order to get the larger projects completed that could potentially take all day? I really struggle with finding time for these types of very necessary tasks. Thank you for your help! I love your sweet teaching spirit. It's a gift from the Lord from which we are all benefiting.
We use ACE curriculum which allows the kids to work very independently. When I'm working on a big project and am not in the room with them, they're able to carry on without me and just come to me when they need me. As a Kindergarten student, Solomon needs me to help him with all of his work but we can get it done in an hour or so, so I do that first and then get to work on my other projects. The only time we take a day off from school is if it's someone's birthday or another holiday that I scheduled to be a day off at the beginning of the school year.
Andrea Mills Thank you so much for your prompt reply Andrea.
But it's so fun to open the mailbox and see the latest Romantic Homes....or Yoga Journal.......or Better Homes and Gardens......or Saveur........(*continues with 23 more names.....)
You can read magazine's on line from your library. You can read books also from your library on line or ask you library to get a book for you. This helps me with not having stacks of magazines. If you notice your shredder can only shred very few pages but mot 24 pages like they state. I have 5-6 garbage bags to go through. Most of it is trash. I have prescription papers to shred. The pharmacy sends us as many as 30 pages per prescription. What do I do with prescription bottles? Do you shred mail, credit card applications? I enjoyed your video and clicked Like. Thanks
Love your videos. I would love to simplify my home. We are also in WY! I homeschool too (first year)and wonder what do you keep for record or school items? I have a kindergartner and a lil one. Right now I just write in planner what we do everyday and attendance. Plus her work. Is Ace pretty much laid out for you? Does it become tedious for kids? Thanks for your videos ....I always feel inspired after watching.
ACE is a very easy to use, sequential curriculum so record keeping is really simple. Since it's designed for schools, they sell all the record keeping forms we need. I don't really have experience with keeping records for other curricula, but you could check out www.hslda.com for information about that. I don't think you need to worry much about it before the age of 7 when compulsory attendance laws kick in, so I assume you have a little time to figure it out. I would think that what you're doing works fine. It's really not until high school that serious records are important (for the sake of having a transcript in case they go to college.)
As for whether ACE gets tedious, I suppose it does sometimes, but I would think that's true of anything in life we do. We enjoy it and the kids can work very independently which makes life easy for me. I add in extras as we have the time and desire, but it's nice knowing that all the basics are covered no matter what life throws at us!
Where in Wyoming do you live?
I live in Fremont county. 2hrs from Casper. I have watched all your ace and homeschool videos which I enjoy. If I were to try ace out next year what would you suggest for a starter subject? At 7 do you just keep tests etc for kids? I already have a binder full of school work for my kindergartener!
I understand that you don't put out many videos now because all the preparations for Christmas. Your family must be busy, all the fun family times :) But I have to admit I miss your videos 💜💚💙
Thank you! I've been trying to get editing time in , but it's just not happening. I really wanted to get our Christmas videos out this week. I miss all of you, too! I enjoy the little conversations I get to have with everyone when I new video comes out. I'll keep trying!
Andrea Mills I know you are trying. It shows in your videos how much you want to do this and how fun you think it is. But sometimes life have other priorities ☺️ But looking forward to when you have time to release a new video. 👍🏼
You mention you are living in 800 square feet. Does that include downstairs? If so, all of downstairs or just the boys room, library, and pantry?
The footprint of our house is 800 sq. ft. We've finished the basement to make 1,600 sq. ft. of living space.
never been this early!
So early!!
RIP
