They keep insisting that the show is edited and make them look bad... Sure a TV show adds music, cuts and edits scenes, But those scenes come form situations that really HAPPENED. They were truly yelling and taunting people, and even if the customers were actors hired to sabotage their service this couple's reactions are not normal. Every time they are interviewed they share their fucked up view of the world: like they are is some sort of war zone. They are so over dramatic about everything.

Gordon Ramsey, truly tries to help these people, while he does run a show. If you watch enough of his shows you would know he truly is only trying to help them. He has done so much good, often remodeling the entire old resturant. Samy and Amy, had more than a breakdown......but hopefully they can recover, and truly learn many lessons. Just like most of us have to do.
I doubt they will learn. They're just gonna commit more crimes. Speaking of crimes, Amy and Samy had criminal records of the past before Kitchen Nightmares episode. Ramsey is a master of a totally different form of catering. Where he rewards his team with everything possible. Tips, customer comment cards, gifts, the chances to make mistakes so you can learn from them. It's like a family. They are all very close in his restaurants. When that poor girl kate got shot down in such a cowardice manner, Gordon essentially saw a mother figure disown her daughter. Yes, it's a business. You will be punished. But you have to show them kindness & love. Especially when they are as young & patient as those waitress'. That poor girl was bullied to tears. It will take more than a stoical premeditated interview to convince the world to welcome them with open arms.

I worked in fast food in the late 80s where the minimum wage was raised about every 1-2 years. Every time it did, prices went up. The money had to come from somewhere. This is a zero sum game.

My restaurant does a flat rate for kitchen staff tips and servers gets to keep what they make but tip out a certain percentage to the kitchen/bar.
In the US minimum wage is $10 an hour generally. However, for whatever reason waitresses and waiters get paid absolute crap, often not even minimum wage, which is why tipping is such a big deal here. They basically survive off of tips, so taking the tips away is VERY bad and I can't begin to fathom how anyone would continue to work there with those awful wages.
Yeah, as others said, in the US servers min wages are $2.13+ tips (some states have their own min wages that are just slightly higher). Many servers do very well with tips. A good server in a good restaurant can make over a hundred in a night. Also if the waitress does not make the standard minimum of $7.25/hour when her tips are figured, the restaurant does have to make up for that. So it is actually $2.15 + tips, so long as the total = at least $7.25. The problem is that amy probably isn't aware/disregards that part, and since they are nearly always empty the servers probably don't make enough tips to reach the $7.25 min. And they hire young inexperienced kids, so they won't even know any better that she is supposed to make up the difference.

Not to mention lying about the freshness of the food, claiming that the ravioli was fresh when it was store bought. Also, she was firing staff on unfair grounds (she fired a woman for 'giving her attitude' after she asked a question), the customers were treated like crap, the restaurant is badly organised and I STRONGLY advise another line of work for a woman who can't take criticism.

Yelp and other social media clearly demonstrate that you DON'T listen which is the most BASIC quality that is required in any successful business.
