    It’s wierd how these things are so probable yet doctors never seem to suggest that they could be a cause for any illness. “Yea you’re not part of that 20%. I’m 80% sure of it.”

      Because they're only probable depending on your location
      And not like a doctor is going to ever deny you might have a tapeworm if you show the right symptoms. Or bedbugs. TF are you on about OP.

    I'm surprised giardia wasn't listed in here. I had it as a 2nd grade child and it nearly killed me. I drank water out of a lake which is what caused it for me. I lost 12 lbs in 3 days which is incredibly dangerous when you are so small already. I wouldn't wish that parasite on my greatest enemy.

    For those who are worried, the majority of these aren't that bad, as long as you live in a developed country. There is also treatment for the majority of these parasites. And most of the time, you won't just wake up with a parasite in you, usually you would have had to do something to get it inside of you.

    • @wsads420
      @wsads420 Год назад +5

      And don't forget that the human botfly is actually completely painless and harmless and even has beneficial effects. The only reason it's so dreaded is because if it accidentally hits a nerve it's extremely painful, and because most people just don't like the idea of other organisms living inside them. And if you really want to remove it, there are plenty of easy and painless methods that you can perform at home

I thought it was a bot fly egg that caused it. My then primary dismissed the idea, so I was never sure what it was. But that year was problematic for me and cysts/bites from mosquitoes et al. Process of elimination yielded inconclusive results.

    I leave my luggage in the car take of my shoes, switch to flip flops. Then inspect the room. I check the bed and furniture for dead bugs, black spots, then the the rest of the furniture, and the edge of the carpet, towels etc. If I find anything I go to the Front Desk and inspect a room in another wing. If I find them there I cancel the room and move to another motel/hotel. I have never brought the vermin home

    our parasitology teacher always said that tapeworms are the best pets, you don´t need to vaccinate them, they are always with you and you can take them to plane or boat or anywhere, also his study suggest that tapeworms and other parasites actually wants you to live as long as possible so f.e. tapeworm can release some nutrients back to your body if you are malnourished

Within 10 days I started feeling them. Now my body is completely infested and the doctors and city refuse to acknowledge it even is happening . They don’t come within 10 feet of me!! The are quite treatable, and most infections are very mild(to avoid alerting the host). However the effective medication is not widely available, nor really affordable in the west, so many people have them without knowing. Its quite common for people with them to eat large meals, and lots of sugary food. If you need the treatment, look at how asian countries(including developed ones-who have those tiny meals) handle this issue with an annual anti parasitic pill. Perhaps best to discuss this with public health officials who tend to overlook the causes of the obesity epidemic (which is rooted partially in parasitic infections, and the widespread availability of food).
