For those curious, it can take hours to days to remove adult guinea worms due to the parasite’s fragile nature. If removed too quickly, the worm will break and cause devastating infection. Once broken, the odds of removing the rest of the worm plummet. The body doesn’t take it well.
The are quite treatable, and most infections are very mild(to avoid alerting the host). However the effective medication is not widely available, nor really affordable in the west, so many people have them without knowing. Its quite common for people with them to eat large meals, and lots of sugary food. If you need the treatment, look at how asian countries(including developed ones-who have those tiny meals) handle this issue with an annual anti parasitic pill. Perhaps best to discuss this with public health officials who tend to overlook the causes of the obesity epidemic (which is rooted partially in parasitic infections, and the widespread availability of food).

This video reminded me of the fear I used to have of my hair where I swore it was moving on it’s own and I was scared it was actually worms or snakes just waiting to eat my head. My childhood fears are pretty weird.
Can confirm about bed bugs. I had a bad reaction: itching so intense and long lasting that I had to get on oral steroids to finally get it under control. It’s like the itchiness you feel right after a mosquito bite, but it doesn’t go away. Thankfully got them on the first extermination but it was awful. Glad I documented it and found a lawyer that got me some compensation.

12:16 plasmodium is a protist not a virus. As a science student such errors really get to me. Other than that great job with the video
You should do a video on prions. They’re horrifying.
My brother had a tape worm when he was 5 the worm was over 4 feet long when the doctors got it out. The worm was longer than he was tall.
I've experienced the worst parasite a human can deal with for 18 years, I think it's called "children"
Boy what are you freaking doing with children
You don’t mean your wife?
@@stonalisa3729 No plus I'm to young and I got that from my dad
I'm so sorry you had to deal with something so traumatic. 😭😭😭
Well I gotta say we Indians have lived in the worst conditions since childhood 😂, and now seeing the dangers of the environment it gives me chills on how careless we were since birth. 😭
Don't be scared of ticks guys. They don't jump. They just wait for you to pass by on top of long grass. If you mow your lawn regularly, you don't need to worry about ticks. At least for yourself. But always be precautious with your dogs.
Good to watch while eating my dinner :)
Yes, this is the content I signed up for . ☺️
when you were talking about round worms, it reminded me of something i done yesterday. I captured a round worm that was next to an ant colony and asked my friend what it was (at the time i didn't know it was a parasite), and he said it was a parasite, so i chopped its head off and it died.
This makes me never want to go outside ever again.
@@jedimitroff5952 >:) To make you feel better, so long as they dont bite you, its fine. Also, just grab a cup or anything with an edge and push. it will die.
Thank you for all yalls hard work!
Took me a few times to correctly read this

With this information, it’s important to also know that there are simple ways to kills parasites. Do a quick Google or RUclips search and you’d find plenty of ways to do parasite cleanses.
For those curious, it can take hours to days to remove adult guinea worms due to the parasite’s fragile nature. If removed too quickly, the worm will break and cause devastating infection. Once broken, the odds of removing the rest of the worm plummet. The body doesn’t take it well.
Imagine having a tapeworm in your lungs and intestines.
imagine eating while watching this- definitely not me
The are quite treatable, and most infections are very mild(to avoid alerting the host).
11:55 it's actually plasmodium malaria, and then you get three other species of plasmodium which are equally deadly
Number one should be this channel.
We are gunna have to make an episode on the bird eating spider, just saying. That’s not something you can just bring up with little to no detail .. 😆😂 I need information infographics ! 😂😂
That’s a nice spider I was going to get one but settled for the black Brazilian tarantula
Thank you for this informative yet nightmare fueled video >.
I feel all the symptoms now 😭
Parasites have been eating my skin for 5 years. They came from the property management having the plumbing flushed and jet black water with no debris flowed into my bathtub for almost an hour. Within 10 days I started feeling them. Now my body is completely infested and the doctors and city refuse to acknowledge it even is happening . They don’t come within 10 feet of me!! I been alone afraid someone else may get them. No one will help me!! It’s so painful and terrifying. In orfice now.
Would you let me help you ? I've a few things I learned about and id like to direct you to the cure as well

@brendaleary9281 could you have morgellons?

No
@@brendaleary9281 did you get rid of them?
What the heck! You don’t even say how it’s actually contracted. For any of them. This video is terrifying! Wow thanks

Can we take anti parasitic medication once every 3 months just to be sure? Or is the medication specialized per parasite?
The banana flavored pin-worm meds will forever haunt me. It was horrible
And now I'm ready to take a bath, cover myself with petroleum jelly, and down every antiparasitic medicine I can find after seeing this!
The most painful parasite is life
I feel like they are all in my body right now.
Oh my goodness me too
Not gonna lie, those parasite animations were adorable! Might be my own bias though… parasitology is one of my favorite subsets of entomology/nematology. My favorites are the parasitic worms that inhabit the guts of blue whales. Imagine a parasite over ten feet long! Really amazing creatures.
THAT TUMBNAIL IS GOING TO GIVE ME NIGHTMARES
I am now worried that these worms might attack after how much worms I have bullied
* becomes vegan *
Man you do realise that if meat with tapeworm eggs goes onto vegetables you can still get them
i wish i was alive 6 minutes ago when i didnt know this existed
I’m scared of #10 because I could not sleep last night because my eyes were annoying
Thanks video
