    Thanks for telling this account of your friend's life living with AIDS. I'm 64 and I lived in San Francisco at that time and I still do. I identified with the shame you felt about your friend's tears. There was so much fear at that time, we did not know what was safe or not safe the way we do now and at that time hiv was a death sentence. So much is different now but I think a lot of gay people can relate to that. Thanks for all you did, we all had to do the next right thing if possible since there was no blueprint. I lost my BFF to AIDS in 1994 and helped him. It was like living in a war! I still grieve at times for so many I knew gone but we are the survivors of a very tragic time in history and maybe our stories will help others. Blessings.

      Michael Anastasio - Thank you for sharing your memories and being there for your friend when he needed you most. I was in my early 20s during the mid 80s, it was a scary time to be young and gay. So many left us far too soon. You honor those people by telling their stories, they were here and they mattered. 😢

    I am the mother of a gay son this is so sad and beautiful at the same time.That mother was so cruel and heartless to do this to the man her son loved. I am so happy God sent Art to Randy we are all Gods children.

    What a bittersweet story. I'm also of the age that I lost many friends. Your friend Randy who's family took his things and locked him out of the apartment, this happened to a friend of mine. He died a year after his partner. Truely sad. I hope we've come further.

    I'm sure Randy and Art are together, happy and healthy in a way better place now.
    May they bless us all from Heaven above.

    I lived in Houston from 1985 to 1994. The Montrose district was the “gayborhood” and AIDS decimated our community. I lost 49 close friends and acquaintances in that time period. It was a terrifying time that I will never forget.

    What's good is that Randy passed away in love with his partner. You were an amazing friend to Randy. You're also very handsome 😏☺.

    My partner died of an AIDS related illness in 1985 and I lost several other friends through the middle of the 1990's. It was a plague time and the treatment of those afflicted was very often abominable.

    As a long term survivor, I salute you for such a wonderful story never told. "Stories are not told from the grave", said someone back it the day. Yours is a tribute to the ones already passed. I Send You Love ♥♥♥ Thank-you for telling yours in such splendid fashion.

    Thank you for sharing your beautiful stories. There are some of us who have gone through the difficult time of the AIDS crisis who need to be reminded that that we are not alone with that experience. I don't believe future generations will ever be able to understand. I hope they don't have to. ❤

    It is infuriating to hear stories like this one about Warren's evil mother and sister. We will all answer for our actions one day, and mercy will be given to those who have shown mercy themselves.

    I don't want to sound judgemental, but if you read a lot of the very old literature related to "Urns" "Inverts" or "Uranians" then most of it expresses shame and fear about that particular sex act because it was associated with disease. American vanity claims that Stonewall was the start of the Gay movement but that is wrong. Americans actually forgot the lessons from the Gay males who had been out many decades before in Europe.

    • @louisdewit4429
      @louisdewit4429 Год назад +1

      Disease. You mean chlamydia ? Oh no. That’s penis on vagina, therefore: Hetero sex.
      What then ? Syphilis ? No. Also Hetero and whole flocks of straight people infected eachother with that, went mad and died. I’ll leave it there. I am Dutch. In the seventies and eighties probably the most progressive country in Europe. YET …. For us Stonewall riots are definitely the startpoint for aggressive defend, resist and, more important, FIGHT ! That was and still is Very American. I noticed this Pride, self awareness and personal emancipation, not only in being ‘Out and Proud’ but also in economical and financial succes achievement in personal life, which is vitally important for gaining respect from the outside 95% straight world, an undeserved but unfortunate necessity, they,due majority, have the power, when i stayed in NYC some time in 1980 and 1982. For me the Yanks were the example. Not the then and still very soft Europeans. I Love USA 🇺🇸. Europe, in all fields, is nothing without them. Shalom.

    And those familiar stories of vile grasping families who dispossessed the partners of the dead

  • @Gee5425
    @Gee5425 6 лет назад +1

    Am I the only one that was completely following the story until the very end?... He was instantly attracted to him, went home with him that night, and passed it to someone else before he died. That was basically how the end of that story just read out.

    • @cherstyler
      @cherstyler 6 лет назад +4

      well you are assuming that the man he went home with that night was HIV- when he more than likely was HIV+ already. And I am sure by this point both of them knew how to not spread HIV thru sex.

      Angela Crouch-- It is irresponsible to condemn anyone based only on your own assumptions. Considering the timeline, they do not pan out medically either.

    • @michaelanastasio5806
      @michaelanastasio5806 5 лет назад +3

      Angela Crouch no that is not how that story ended! Art was already HIV positive when Randy met him. They were both in the same sinking boat as it were.
