It made me tear up whenever your voice started to crack. I'm sorry about Casey. I can only imagine how handsome he was.

If you talk to Mr. Cano maybe you can tell him I Googled the name Casey Cannon and I found an article on who I think is Robert's friend. It is from 1996 and it was about the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Clinic in Van Nuys that was closing. They were talking to a patient named Casey Cannon who was 39 (in 1996). He said he was living in North Hollywood and had moved to the valley because of the clinic and that they had prolonged his life. What if Casey got the new meds and he is still out there but hasn't contacted Robert all these years because he thinks
he might have moved on? Robert should try to find out more about Casey.(Maybe a former doctor from the Clinic remembers him) It would be so awesome if they could reconnect. If Casey has passed away at least Robert would know what happened to him. Thank you for these moving stories.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, which really touched me emotionally. Your description of him is heartwarming, seeing you smile when you recall all the joy you‘ve shared with one another makes me smile too, even though my heart is crying. I‘ve had a similiar experience in my twenties, lost my greatest love to another man and a year later to AIDS. I still miss him but I‘m thankful that I had the chance of loving him and sharing a life together for a few years. I‘m wishing you the very best and stay as you are!

So how was contact ended between these two lovers? He was told his partner had AIDS during their last meeting? No contact after?

So at some point the lover stopped answering the phone. You know how many times I’ve heard this from other guests? Apparently people would look so bad that they wouldn’t want to be seen by anyone other than the caregiver. It was a common scenario.
