    Hi folks, I’ve set this video to premiere on Saturday afternoon. I’ve woken up to find I’m on 455 subscribers! Thank you all so much. The competition video will be out this week, it’ll be the next video 🙏

    Having purchased a HB recently, I know their build quality is pretty good despite using new woods & cheap components. Not an easy guitar to upgrade pick up wise but doable with patience. Like the positioning of the tone switch. Great value…. How the heck can they make a guitar for that price?

      @GregDaviesguitarist  2 года назад +2

      I agree with everything you’ve said here mate. These pickups aren’t easy to upgrade as you say but I think a decent luthier could sort it. I do however think these Rothwell pickups are half decent!

      In regards to the price, it’s unbelievable….

      Thanks mate, I love a 251…. Almost as much as I love a cup of tea with a hob nob. 👌🏻

      It’s a great guitar mate, for the price it’s particularly good but even without the great price it’s an excellent guitar 👍 thanks for watching 🙏

    Excellent demo before you change the pick ups try some flat wounds on it which could warm the tone up quite a bit. For the price its un beatable.

      That’s a great idea Paul, I hear a lot of these players use flat wounds. I’ll do that. I’m actually ok with the pickups… I think they sound reasonable but if you really wanted to mod the guitar that’s where I’d start.

    A double action truss rod can give a convex and a concave movement to the neck depending on the which way the neck has bent naturally.

    Which sounds better in your opinion - this HB-35 Plus or the Harley Benton RB600? Both are the same price, and I am torn between them.

      I’ve never tried the BB600. What I do know is the HB-35 is a wonderful instrument. Well worth the risk, you won’t be disappointed

    I was debating for a while until I read about fret wear. Apparently after just a few months, it’s extensive. A whole fret change would cost more than the guitar cost. Is this the case for you?

    Great review and nice jamming. I'm planning to get this Cherry finish guitar very soon. I have one negative about your review. Its that you (and I've seen other reviewers also) say it has a coil-tap feature when the specs say its a coil-split. I saw that you did say split near the end though. And it did sound super nice when you split the pickup. That's all. Thanks for the review! Cheers.

    • @GregDaviesguitarist
      @GregDaviesguitarist  2 года назад +2

      Yeah I always make that mistake, it’s definitely a coil split though. It’s a great sound the split position 👌

      @@GregDaviesguitarist thanks for clarifying :) I didn't mean to be that critical guy. I really wanted to make sure I knew which one it had before buying one.

      Just what is the difference between split and tap? I've been wondering for some time now.

    • @jrenaud22
      @jrenaud22 Год назад

      @@joanarling splitting a humbucker results in a single coil as 1 of the 2 coils is eliminated. Tapping results in a lower output pickup but still remains a humbucker. They can also make a coil tapped single coil which result in a lower output single coil.
