Skunkie is amazing! Her honesty is why I am subscribed to her channel!

Good Video. I am a Skunkie fan too, she is honest, knowledgeable, and down to earth. The turquoise kit speaker she likes so much is the HiVi Swan DIY2.2A. I made a pair of them too (white) and think they are great. Its a 100% Chinese brand, so they make some good stuff too, even speakers.

My time was the late 1960s when it was still about flat response.

I like Skunkie also honest comes to mind I would also apply that to you. Feed back on your recommendations for Marcus Millar my system in the house low efficiency Thiel Halcro amp and so on the music is ok BUT on my system in my man cave JBL horns Dynavector 80 valve amp and so on man it blows me away love IT. What I’m trying to say here in my disentangled way is horns can sort through very complicated music, awareness of structure how bits fit together if u like so thanks. I will be checking in on you and her from time to time. Warm regards from Oz.

I have to agree with you on everything you said. However, there are people out there who just don't like horn speakers, and that's life.

Yes those old altec oil film caps are priceless do not replace them unless they are faulty

You're the first one whoever said that. A lot of people are constantly trying to get me to change everything and I think you can destroy what you have by thinking you'll make it better. First, I would like to hear the changes on somebody else's speakers before I do it to my own..

Thank you for the video, I need to do some repairs on my 1984 Klipschorns. I was thinking about Crites upgrade, maybe I'll just repair them and go from there

Really a lot of old speakers all they need to be done to them is bring them up-to-date.

What do you think of the line magnetic 812 which is based on your speaker. Here's a sample ... Alpha Audio TH on YT has some good examples.

Hi! It is fun that stumble over you here. As it seams that we bother audiophiles and love our aquariums. :)
Anyway the reason why RUclipsrs of HiFi equipment only put out positive videos or almost always.
Is that why put in time and effort to shoot, edit, pay wages for something that is wasteful.
Why waste so much resources on something bad and we looking at a video of a lousy product. As most of their viewers will also be rather wasteful to look at that kind of video.
And the second thing is if a product is bad and they make that video they might as influencers make harm to some of the small businesses.
Yeh Sony has no issues when they are for example giants but GR research or Tecton and others that are one person and a hand full of employees will get hurt.
There is no reason to throw the company under the bus of one bad product..
So this is how it goes the RUclipsrs behind the scenes will decide if a product is good enough and worthwhile their time and effort, for them to make a video (remember some of them have employees and advertising contracts to also consider and not all just put up a camera and film without production cost (editing.))
So most of the time they send back bad products and use their time on good once instead.
The consequence is that we RUclips consumers only get positive videos to see. And ask "where is the bad stuff.. all stuff can't be good.." and so on.
We just need to know the reasons above behind why that is the case. ❤
