  • Join us this week as we travel through the western portion of New Mexico. We found a hidden gem of a Ghost Town: Lake Valley! Here we learned the history of the area and some surprising facts about the residents - and how long some of them lived there!
From the Ghost Town, we traveled near the City of Rocks State Park and stayed in a beautiful, epic spot on Bureau of Land (BLM) land - however, we were warned by another camper to be wary of the rattlesnakes the were very present in the area! Yikes!
In the morning, we drove to the City of Rocks State Parks and climbed around the area and had a nice picnic lunch.
Make sure you tune in next week when we travel into the Gila National Forest!

Do they have prairie dogs there?

We didn't see any, but that's very possible. Those mounds might have belonged to prairie dogs, but we didn't want to get too close to look! Haha! When we drove in, another camper warned us that rattlesnakes were everywhere and one had just chased him, so we were extra cautious!
