I wonder if this is legit a plot twist or if Im overthinking it... but Week 2, Adriene's demeanor changed around other kids, but she was shy again with the counselor- if Whiskers only mimics what people SEE a person as, this could mean "Adriene" acted as a normal kid around the other children, who didnt know her personally (ie would have no knowledge of distinctive traits of her that would differ from other children) and with the counselor "Adriene" went right back to being shy and quiet- the personality that the counselor would have remembered for "Adriene". The game is definitely stressing that Whiskers can't mimic a PERSON, but just somebodys IDEA of a person, so I wonder if it's actually still Adriene going to school at all

It’s so difficult to tell for sure, from this episode we don’t have enough to go on and I’d rather watch mark play it all rather than look it up myself. But I think this is a strong theory unless we find out more about how the creatures work that could contradict the idea. It’s just all so weird

The whole mimicking people's desires, being deathless and being magic/religion related thing feels like this game is giving us an elaborate, scientific portrayal of a demon and I love it
from my experience (as a horror creator AND fan ;D ) most spooky creators are the most wholesome and chill beings. We have a good outlet for bad things in our brains, so only the good remains ;)
I absolutely love how the game indulges on verbose, pseudo-scientific and esoteric technicalities and language. I think that works wonders for the horror factor through the unknown, it really let's you wondering what the hell is going on exactly even though it's right there explained with excruciating detail. You can kinda guess but you can't never be so sure, it's really enervating, I really like it.

Including the Urals. Maybe in the USA, geography lessons aren't that comprehensive or they only teach the places in Americas. Also some people aren't interested in general knowledge which I find very weird but to each their own I guess.

Y'know back when [redacted] had that E-Boy episode and he first tried the middle part, I was like "ew", but seeing the middle part grown out, it looks less like a horrible 90s school picture day cut, and more in-line with what the actual E-boys/K-pop dudes do. Indie developers,cause triple a developers just produce half baked games that get played once and never even work on the game. Its really sad,i honestly hate the fact that once a game explodes in popularity,that ("professional" triple a)developers employ the cash cow mode. Dont get me wrong,game development is hard unforgiving job,that hinges on alot of people likeing their games.(to get paid) But i believe that cultivating a fan base,by listening to them(having critical thoughts to enforce the future games). Tl:dr ; have game companies actually care about fans,to have an undieing fan base,that can support them.

Indie gaming has a completely different power dynamic cause you can be your own boss, whereas in a triple A game you could be answering to 100 different people. I think a lot of developers love their games, big or small, it's just sometimes they don't always have the power over them.

I feel like Yames might be one of the few creators that actually portray scientists in an accurate way. I feel like in most other media scientists and researchers are represented as these nerdy weirdos that spout science buzzwords to sound smart (sci fi stories slapping "quantum" into everything thinking it makes it sound cooler and more "sciencey"). I do love fantastical sci fi though, I think it's really entertaining and imaginative. But I also love stuff like this game, that really goes into depth on how actual educated researchers might go about trying to understand something "unexplainable". You can tell Yames actually did research about the topics he included in this game, instead of just going for the usual tropes. While the language may be complex in some of the documents, it's actually way more accurate and it kind of makes sense.

I think you should play a game called "the path". It's basically a red riding hood story about traumatic experiences. You play as six different girls on their way to Grandma's house.... But if you stray of the path you can find "the big bad wolf" wich represents trauma. The game would make for a really interesting video

I struggle with (mild) prosopagnosia and seeing it mentioned in a horror game made me jump. It's probably just some disorder you hadn't heard of for most people, but it adds a weird layer of extra fear and stress to see something you deal with brought up, even in passing.
This is an interesting one. It's like if you captured John Carpenters "The Thing" and studied it's development and mimicry ability. I have a feeling there was a good deal of inspiration drawn from that for this game. I love it!
I LOVE the vibe of the games like Discover my Body. They remind me of some of the body horror movies in the 70s and 80s. I love the fact that the Powerwash simulator montage music has just become a part of this channel.

for in half a frame from 5:34 there is an error screen saying that "universe is unlicensed. In order to keep using this product without interruption, Please activate a license." Play at the slowest speed and constantly start and pause the video since the frame moves quickly.
What I love about this game is how intelligent Yames seems to be. Plenty of flashy, scientific terms are thrown in but not inaccurately. A lot of it from psychology and biology. Really adds to the immersion.
This reminds me of when I grew my grandpa way back then. Expect no one was asking me about it and he escaped, never to be seen again. Within the next few months there have been reports of missing persons in the area but I never really took great interest in that. I miss my grandpa...

from my experience (as a horror creator AND fan ;D ) most spooky creators are the most wholesome and chill beings. We have a good outlet for bad things in our brains, so only the good remains ;)
He's my IRL friend. He's very funny and focused on his art.
I absolutely love how the game indulges on verbose, pseudo-scientific and esoteric technicalities and language. I think that works wonders for the horror factor through the unknown, it really let's you wondering what the hell is going on exactly even though it's right there explained with excruciating detail. You can kinda guess but you can't never be so sure, it's really enervating, I really like it.

Including the Urals. Maybe in the USA, geography lessons aren't that comprehensive or they only teach the places in Americas. Also some people aren't interested in general knowledge which I find very weird but to each their own I guess.

i'm definitely sure we learned about locations not exclusive to america, but they were touched upon very briefly, so it never really stuck with most of us. the only reason we even passed was because covid regulations required we pass all of our classes since it happened a month before school ended anyway.
i've heard of the himalayas, andes, and alps, but the urals are a new one to me. either it completely slipped my mind or it just wasn't taught to me at all. the school system here's kinda screwed anyway, so i doubt whichever one it is really matters.

Y'know back when [redacted] had that E-Boy episode and he first tried the middle part, I was like "ew", but seeing the middle part grown out, it looks less like a horrible 90s school picture day cut, and more in-line with what the actual E-boys/K-pop dudes do. Glad the long Keanu hair's gone, I never gelled (heh) with it.
What an amazing game. This is a cut and clear case of a developer who truly cares about their work and is not afraid to take risks and create an experience that they truly wanted. More developers need to be like this. Bravo.

Indie developers,cause triple a developers just produce half baked games that get played once and never even work on the game.
Its really sad,i honestly hate the fact that once a game explodes in popularity,that ("professional" triple a)developers employ the cash cow mode.
Dont get me wrong,game development is hard unforgiving job,that hinges on alot of people likeing their games.(to get paid)
But i believe that cultivating a fan base,by listening to them(having critical thoughts to enforce the future games).
Tl:dr ; have game companies actually care about fans,to have an undieing fan base,that can support them.

Indie gaming has a completely different power dynamic cause you can be your own boss, whereas in a triple A game you could be answering to 100 different people. I think a lot of developers love their games, big or small, it's just sometimes they don't always have the power over them.

I genuinely believe that YAMES is the greatest cosmic horror developer out there. They merge morbid curiosity and fear perfectly.

I feel like Yames might be one of the few creators that actually portray scientists in an accurate way. I feel like in most other media scientists and researchers are represented as these nerdy weirdos that spout science buzzwords to sound smart (sci fi stories slapping "quantum" into everything thinking it makes it sound cooler and more "sciencey"). I do love fantastical sci fi though, I think it's really entertaining and imaginative.
But I also love stuff like this game, that really goes into depth on how actual educated researchers might go about trying to understand something "unexplainable". You can tell Yames actually did research about the topics he included in this game, instead of just going for the usual tropes. While the language may be complex in some of the documents, it's actually way more accurate and it kind of makes sense.

I think you should play a game called "the path". It's basically a red riding hood story about traumatic experiences. You play as six different girls on their way to Grandma's house.... But if you stray of the path you can find "the big bad wolf" wich represents trauma. The game would make for a really interesting video

I struggle with (mild) prosopagnosia and seeing it mentioned in a horror game made me jump. It's probably just some disorder you hadn't heard of for most people, but it adds a weird layer of extra fear and stress to see something you deal with brought up, even in passing.

Yes, and the topics it combines regarding the subject in question include, the study of magic, anthropology, psychology, some demonology and morphology of organisms. Yames surely does a lot of research regarding the topics he wants in his games.

for in half a frame from 5:34 there is an error screen saying that "universe is unlicensed. In order to keep using this product without interruption, Please activate a license." Play at the slowest speed and constantly start and pause the video since the frame moves quickly.
What I love about this game is how intelligent Yames seems to be. Plenty of flashy, scientific terms are thrown in but not inaccurately. A lot of it from psychology and biology. Really adds to the immersion.
