To watch this live in an orchestra hall is quite amazing. Can't help but feel this is "the future"

Yes i agree, that’s also why i had the thought to record this since it was so special. It was interesting since it was mainly advertised as concert of the Metropole Orkest. Hope Louis will get more recognition in the future. Mainstream he will not become, but at least more of this could happen worldwide, let people experience the magic of real life music with full orchestra

I saw exactly this show in Wuppertal and the sound was terrible!. I was also in Utrecht 3 days later and the sound was fantastic. The Tivoli (concert location) in Utrecht is a place everyone should visit and hear. A night I will never forget.

Thanks I updated the description, wasn’t sure about the name of the guitarist, that was said on the display. Will check him out, more i listen to his solo more i appreciate it. I knew i had to zoom in on him, the sound mix in the hall wasn’t so good though… also the bass was too low but seeing Sam grooving made me feel it ☺️

yes the sound was reasonable, only the bass was not loud enough (perhaps a bit biased :-) ). I used the Rode Videomic-me. Great little thing for your phone , cheap and good quality for on the go with your phone.

Hi i'm going to see Louis Cole tonight at theatre Carré in Amsterdam, Holland. So I'm not going to watch the whole video right now. You are sooo right about supporting artists like these. I also had the oportunity to watch the rehearsal of Louis Cole with the Metropole Orchestra in Hilversum for this concert. Thank you for sharing this though!

Yes enjoy, that one will probably be smoother since third time after Utrecht 😊. I enjoy making music videos and sharing so will do more in the future, but i hope i inspire viewers to go and support artists directly. Have fun! Already have tickets for Domi&Beck with Metropole in Maastricht, probably also on your list?

was hoping that they would record one of the 2 concerts in Holland that followed, but did not see an update on that. I don´t think this concert was captured in multitrack, and the mix in the house as many commented was pretty poor, it seemed on the balcony it was better, it did sound better than on the recording but you know how it goes with being somewhere in real life... Will go another concert of Metropol this weekend, they have a show with Richard Bona

I have no idea who Louis Cole is. But after hearing this, I don't really care if I hear anything else from him. What's with the skeleton costumes for the musicians? We often have to adhere to a dress code request. But this is ridiculous. I have enjoyed many, many years of Metropole, and the orchestra was great as usual, except for the vocals and the "kids" on bass, drums, and guitar. This was the low point for me. Of course, my opinion only. I respect that others loved this concert, and will vigorously disagree with me. Peace.

Thanks Glenn for your point of view, I understand this is not the typical concert, but for me this is an exciting new path, and I believe it will aspire especially younger people to explore music, there is already enough junk out there and the standard classical music is not inspiring anymore.
Regarding the custome, Louis Cole has used this many times in the past, for me personally (I don´t know his personal view on this) aesthetics and meaning are also crucial for music, and here the message is that as we die we are left like nothing more than bones and we are all the same.... regarding the kids, I have to disagree, for me they give the "soul" to the music, it might not be perfect, but tthat is not important, it is the emotion that counts.
      Peace, appreciate the comment!
