This is my desire to live Holy unto God, God gave me this scripture in 2010 1 Peter 1:16 and I tell you it’s been a fight to live out a holy life my goodness, this scripture is what I call my family scripture and the mandate that’s on my life which is to be ye Holy unto God pray for me as I pray for you!! God Bless you all!!!
Awesome sermon. I grew up in the Assemblies of God where "holiness" was an imperative but I never understood as to why or how. But Rev. David K. Bernard has explained it so well, homeletically speaking, I would almost dare to say exegetically speaking, even though that was not the case, but very applicable in our lives as a lifestyle. Blessings to you all whom heard this biblical message.
I got a confession in the beginning of my walk with God I had made Made many mistake s I went after my calling and the gifts of the spirit instead of pursing holness I failed God I have now a new out look on holness to give my self wholely to holness thank you brother David Berarnd keep on teaching and preaching the whole console of God
I'm really so thankful to come along someone teaching the truth like Apostle Gino Jennings God is doing a new thing all over if you search for truth you will get it.
Excellent and true! Here's another angle that I feel is a key to understanding God: He wants us to live by what He says is good, and/or by what He says is evil. But the serpent told Eve that by ignoring God's wishes, and choosing to consider the forbidden tree "good" for food and "desirable" to make one wise, she'd be like God. Note that Lucifer also wanted to become "like the Most High" -- I think in the same way, advocating that we should all be "free" to make our own decisions about what constitutes good and/or evil. This is the essence of Satan's way -- and it's consistent with Romans 10:3 which says in the NKJV: For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. It follows that "our own righteousness" is referring not to godly righteousness, but to our own brand of righteousness based on our own opinions about good vs. evil -- which indeed are no better than filthy rags before God -- as the scriptures confirm: That which seems right unto a man, the end thereof are the ways of death. If we consistently live by God's definitions of good/evil, then we are walking in the way of holiness -- and not by imputation, but by becoming more-and-more holy in all of our conduct as we continue to mature. After all, we don't expect our newborn babes to be already potty trained when they are first born, but God expects us to put away childish things as we mature.
are you asking What is good for God? God is complete in Himself, and nothing from outside of Him can change anything that He is. Malachi 3:6 says "For I am Jehovah (Lord. Yahweh), I change not. Because of this, you sons of Jacob are not destroyed." What is good for God? The Lord Himself is good. Look at Nahum 1:7. 'The Lord is good; a Stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him." We need God's goodness, but He doesn't need ours. However, He rejoices over us with singing - Zephaniah 3:17; Deuteronomy 32:9; Isaiah 62:5. God loves to share His goodness lavishly. This is one reason why He seeks us out to come to Him through His Son. So that He can share with us His goodness. The more that we walk with Jesus day by day month by month, the more of God's goodness we will see, and more of what pleases Him. Hope that helps some. Ps. I did not have a father to teach me either. I was the youngest of 3 boys and my Dad left when I was about 3 years old. He placed me and my next older brother in Salvation Army orphanages, separate ones, because of our ages. But Mum was able to get a givenerment house and finally was able to get us two younger ones out of the orphanage and "home" with her.
I agree with almost all, but I miss the essential role of the cross and blood of Jesus in finding holiness. You have left it out totally. If we could find and live holy by all you said, then Jesus died in vain. If we are not holy, we live the life of Satan and we have pierced, caused to bleed, crushed and crucified the life of Jesus in our hearts. If we confess this with deep remorse, repent and make right, then He promised to forgive us and wash us with His blood (which we confess we have spilled with each sin) from all sin, fill us with His HOLY SPIRIT and MAKE US HOLY. We find this through FAITH IN JESUS, by believing all the above and that He is able to do it and wash and deliver us perfectly and completely from all sin. We are not delivered from sin through our own strong faith, but faith IN JESUS, HIS WORDS AND PROMISES.
