Hi there. Thank you very much for the video. Because of you I bought this controller with the fighting pack. I know for most people they usually tend to trusting a video review, but as a controller collector I like to own the controller and give my own opinion towards the controller. My initial impression for the circular d-pad is terrible (doll and stiff, where input direction 1 3 7 9 are hard to register) just like how you felt, and yet the original cross d-pad was superior (which it has a crisp and clicky feel). However, I found a solution to fix this issue and I would like to share it with you. I opened up both d-pad module and switched only their d-pad on top and left everything else original way as it is. And as I put them back, make sure the screw is not over tighten (if you do it will be very doll and stiff). After you switch them the d-pad is going to be the one of the best d-pad you will have( it is like a combination of madcatz ps4 streetfighter 5 fightpad + razer raion fightpad). I just want to share this with you, I deeply like your content. I usually post a bunch of my controller related thoughts and fix/solutions on a Chinese Reddit, which you content inspire me a lot.
@@FrameCounting Also I suggest using the dpad on the bottom. ruclips.net/video/VzYmVrhJiiE/видео.html The link is just a reference of the sound after it got fixed.
My thoughts: - Genesis/Saturn style pad pack would be a great option here - Dual pad setup on left, so that you can effectively have a jump button - All button left side? - open mesh for those side panels would really help ( _metal ideally, but possibly too heavy_ )
Thank you so much for reviewing this pad as well as the Xbox series x and PS5 controllers for fighting games with in depth perspective on the pros and cons for fighting games specifically. Others who do reviews on these don't really talk about the dpads as much which is really something that needed to be taken into account the most. I wanted this controller because the idea of clicky buttons with a dpad shape similar to the PlayStation layout sounded perfect but the big gaps in between were a bit sad. Thanks again you were a big help!
Can you do a test on a software called "hidusbf"? It is supposed to reduce input lag of wired controllers to 1ms. Maybe compare it to DS4 Windows bluetooth max poll rate.
@@FrameCounting I want to also mention the dual sense has high speed USB, so it can sustain a polling rate of 8000hz even though its update rate is 1000hz. So maxing out the setting in the software (putting it at 1000) actually means 8000. Apparently putting it at 250 is optimal but thats just what i read.

Sweet! I'm gonna give that a try. Thanks for sharing!

One more thing, you can test out the feel of leaving the spring out. You will have a different dpad feeling. This is a personal preference thing.
Hi, what do you mean by only switch the dpad on top and left ? Could you mind to detail explain? Thanks

Glad to help! 👍
