I got in a car accident this year. The last thing I remember is praying the Rosary. I should have been dead, I did not get hurt. I believe someone saved my life. I pray the Rosary everyday.
I remember my first rosary very well. I misread the instructions and thought each bead was 10 Hail Mary's. So I did 500 of them in one go, I was there for almost two hours. I had to tap the beads to keep track and couldn't understand how people did it every day. I had a massive headache too since I'd never prayed before so I did it out loud at normal talking volume. 😅
I am so excited about this it’s a perfect duo The Rosary and the Bible every day! God bless you Father. P.S.We had a Grand Prix I got to drive it to school in my Senior year of high school.
It is difficult to start praying the Rosary but our Lady asked us to, so she will help you if you ask her. I know with me she gently guided me to say the Rosary every day, it wasn't a lightning bolt moment but a gradual grace. 🙏🙏
Looking forward, cause I do struggle with just quickly racing thru the rosary. Although I much prefer to say it with a group, the pain of racing thru it is often frustrating to me. I understand we should be meditating or reflecting on the mysteries & not just racing thru a check list. Thank you guys once again and Happy Avent. Prayers for Fr. Rich and all our priests. and Jen. #HailMaryrightnow
The biggest blessing that the Rosary has given me is that I've never had to buy a Rosary. I have almost a dozen Rosaries, and every single one of them was a gift from a family member or a friend from Church.
Picture me, a convert, all puffed up after hearing about this podcast because it only took me a month to learn the rosary, self taught from the free websites. 😎
I am listening while making pizzelles for Christmas, which seem to be pizzelle pieces 😊 I had been away from the Church, going to night school after work, with a 3 mile walk home. I would count cadencr or count step. Before cell phones, etc At some point the counting turned into Hail Marys and after a year (?) Mary brought me back to the Church At s
The ragatta was cancelled because of the approaching thunder storm . My 11 year old son and my boss were coming back from Sailor's Haven on Fire Island. They were on a slightly larger boat and towing my son's sunfish The start of the storm didn't deter them. It was a uniquely violent storm. It was 3:30😮and my son called on his cell phone to say they were coming back despite the storm. That was the last l heard. I couldn't get through
I have a pocket size 20 decade rosary which I use to pray both Jesus prayer and sometimes the prayer rule of mother of God. Due to wear and long time the thread broke i wanted to know should I carry the long rosary and or purchase a 15 decade instead.
I don't have a favorite SET of mysteries, my favorites are picked from each set: the Annunciation (my birthday); the Agony in the Garden, because of Jesus asking, could you not pray with me for one hour? A challenge to me; the crowning of Mary as the Queen of heaven ( I have an image of her that is part Tolkien, part Narnia, with yeomen and warriors and monks and yes, animals around her throne: The institution of the Eucharist, for obvious reasons; Jesus announcing His Kingdom.
Those Christians don't understand the rituals. They always argue that what we do isn't in the bible. They don't understand the significance. And yes, you can pray straight to Jesus. We know that.
All they have is an incomplete and mistranslated bible, so they have a shallow understanding of worship and the faith. It's sad, really. I don't know where I'd be today without Christ in the Eucharist and Our Lady.
Most denominations aren’t even sophisticated enough to draw distinctions between a contemplative prayer and a prayer where you are asking God for something in particular and a prayer where you are just offering praise and adoration to God because of his own innate worthiness. It’s silly to expect people who think you’re forbidden from reading books other than the Bible to formulate sound ideas about prayer and worship using nothing but their own uninformed take on the one book they’re allowed to read and required to consider themselves great scholars of by their religions. How do you even dignify their expertise on the matter by feeling angry about it? They’ve had most of the Christian tradition stolen from them and now they abide in an impoverished version of Christianity. God must love such people because Satan has attacked them on every front, yet despite the ground they’ve lost they’ve never surrendered. We should be fighting for them, not expecting them to fight for us.
My biggest problem saying the rosary is concentration. My mind will wander and - so far - I feel unable to stop my mind from thinking about all the things I have to do or might do...even cleaning house. I feel like such a failure.
That happens to a lot of people and it's okay. I'm not saying its a short coming that we have to forgive ourselves for, I'm saying it is actually okay! These are things, no matter how small they may be, that are concerning to you, so bring them to God! Tell Our Lady about your busy schedule, she will listen. Then, when you come to those things, let's just say sweeping the floor, make it a prayer, too! Thanks for all the people or animals and our purposes that lead us to track this dirt onto the floor. Allow my labor to sweep away the sins of a soul in purgatory. Let us rejoice in the Lord on this clean floor. Thank you Jesus, for keeping me company while I sweep and taking care of me so I can take care of this task. Please, use these prayers how You see fit, Lord!
I never hear anyone discussing that the “children’s” rosary is 5 decades, but a Rosary is 15 decades. Also, discuss how/why the Luminous rosary can be valid since it was not given to us us by the blessed mother, it was a Pope who believes he can improve what the Blessed mother never intended. No Pope can change or alter Doctrine. They are servants to the Faith & protectors of it. Or they are anathema
Right, one set of mysteries, five decades, is a chaplet, and the full rosary is 15. JPII deeply loved the rosary. He did not amend it or intend for anyone to deviate from the traditional 15 mysteries. He sincerely and humbly offered the Luminous mysteries to focus on Jesus' ministry, and maintained that it is for the people to decide whether or not to adopt the Luminous mysteries. It happens that a lot of people love them. A proper rosary still only includes 15 decades, which we often split across six days. With this schedule we may pray two whole rosaries a week. This method leaves an extra day, so that's where we decided to fit in the Luminous mysteries. There are other mysteries some bishops have offered for special occasions, like a Christmas chaplet, but we don't have to pray them to complete the rosary and JPII would lovingly accept the decision for anyone who chose not to adopt anything new into their rosary practice.
Yes, we do pray directly to Jesus, but as the Mother of the Jewish Kings interceded directly to the King on behalf of the petitions of Jewish people, praying to Mary through the Rosary is the same. To be deep in history is to cease being Protestant.
@@CatholicTalkShow @CatholicTalkShow since I have y'all's attention, I'd like to thank you guys for what you do. As a new convert, I have still so much to learn about praying the Rosary. God Bless you. Pray the Rosary every day.
