This is Andrew Huang. He makes casual videos making music and challenges with random stuff, talking about random stuff, and that's very very cool and entertaining. But it's not just that. While doing that, he also composes for nearly every video a song that is incredibly good and touching. And that, guys, is really extraordinary. You are a fucking genius, Andrew.

Okay this is pretty cool but I think Andrew could KILL with ROLI's cooler (imo) product, the Seaboard RISE. It's a MIDI controller in the form of a keyboard, but with this same expressiveness and much more through what they call 5D Touch. Please help this get attention so Andrew might see it, the RISE is one of the coolest things I've ever seen and I don't even make music.

Jason Jorgji Well, it's pretty pricey, but how much do you think he already spends/has spent on production software? That stuff is rather expensive as well. And anyway, it's a pretty groundbreaking product that isn't even as much as some expensive normal keyboards. For someone like Andrew, I think the kind of things he could make with it would be worth the price for him - but of course, that's up to him. I want him to at least be aware of it though, so he can decide that for himself.

I played with one of these, and it was fun but I think that it's ultimately a gimmick. It's not very capable in terms of sound design or customization which is imo what makes or breaks a musical device/controller. Also, you are completely at the behest of the app, which just isn't very deep. However I don't think the product was designed for professional musicians in mind, but rather for novices looking for a fun and easy way to get into electronic music as a hobby, which is what would explain the non-musical approach in the design of both the controller and the app. I will say, it did feel really cool. Kinda sexual. All this being said, I did not spend a whole lot of time with it so I might not be the best qualified person to review this, not to mention Andrew made a very nice sounding song with it.

It's not a commercial because he doesn't get paid for this and has no incentive to say only good things about the device. The song he made is also available in full length in this video, only the download option is being sold.
Between youtube and patreon at the lowest estimate, andrew EARNS about 100,000$ a year, a halfway decent salary, he earns it, but it is commerce, patreons buy his content, subscribers generate ad revenue, this is how things work, commerce and capital

Hey Andrew, maybe for your next song challenge (if it's still a thing) you should try to make a song with normal instruments but not in the way they were supposed to be played (for example not using the keys on a piano and just hitting some other bit from it by a guitar or something)

I dunno. Seems kinda redundant, to me. You could just as easily use the iPad to do exactly the same thing. Grab a few of the KORG apps, use GarageBand and oodles more options. I couldn't see myself buying this extra pad for all it manages to do.

I don't know, but for putting everything together (voice, guitar, pads), and to export in a much much higher quality (or render, whatever), it's better to use ableton
Rendering in FL is soooo much easier tho
The Apple technology just was the electronic beats, rhythms, music. For the voice recording, just like he had to use a microphone to record it, he needed Ableton to edit the voice recording.
