- Avenged Sevenfold is touring in support of its new album, "The Stage," which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock, Hard Rock and Alternative Albums charts, No. 4 on the Top 200 and debuted Top 5 on iTunes in over 35 countries. The band's 7th album is a work of immense scope and ambition, featuring 11 panoramic tracks tied together by an Artificial Intelligence theme. Inspired by the writings of Carl Sagan and Elon Musk, the album is the band’s first thematic release. Its epic 15-minute-plus closing track, “Exist,” features a guest appearance by award-winning astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson giving a spoken word performance he penned specifically for the album.The album’s title track hit Top 5 at rock radio and its companion video has amassed over 15.5 million RUclips views to date. As a mexican A7X fan I still feel ashamed for what happened back in 2009 when they got booed in Metallica's concert three days in a row, I was dying to go to see A7X's concert but I couldn't, and it broke my soul that I couldn't be there supporting them with all my strength as the many other fans were booing them, to this day I still feel wrong not being there and I'm surprised A7X still remembers those days as I do
thats the sad reality of music. these days everybody hates black veil brides, a7x had the same problem. but these guys in a7x are tough guys who never gave up, thanks to fans like you. so you dont have to feel bad about it

I feel like matts first couple of comments about the crowd was kind of sarcastic. Metallica fans(not all, just most) were complete dicks to them. They gave no energy, laughed at them, yelled stupid shit like "End the song". And it's a Metallica show, most Metallica fans already don't think highly of A7X. I don't know why they have a God complex when it comes to music. I'm just glad Avenged Sevenfold will be headlining again, with fans and people who just like music.
Yeah I hear you. Im a huge metallica fan and getting up there now (39), and I use to HATE on this group. But someone put me on to Shepard of fire and I digged it, then found Save me and I was like man I never gave these guys a chance. Funny enough I'm liking their thinking as far as evolving their sound. Wasnt into the more core raw parts of their earlier career but post nightmare I think theve developed their own style. So I now consider myself a fan, whereas before I was more purist (metallica, megadeth, pantera, iron madien, black sabbath, etc..). For me new music was considered SOAD (who are considered old now lol). I was also into proggy stuff (like tool) and theyve seem to be adding more prog elements. But ive expanded my own tastes listening to bands I wouldnt normally listen to (including growls like Death). You have to grow your musical tastes else you get stuck like those dude listening to hairbands and remembering the partying and pussy they got in the 80's.
I just want to say they did a great job with their goal, I'm a huge Metallica fan who saw them on this tour and I was SO impressed by the guitar, particularly Syn, that I went home and downloaded a bunch of their music - they won me over!
Neil's voice being iconic is so true. I first listened to Exist not knowing anything about it except it being 15 minutes long, but when his part struck I was immediately like, "is this Neil Tyson?"

I only found this today but I'm still amazed by this album. And how Brooks fit in perfectly. And them as a whole, they are amazing and they just keep getting better and I really love Avenged.
Mannn saw them open for Metallica on Sunday and they fucking kicked ass. Been a huge fan since Waking the Fallen and they've had their ups and downs throughout the years obviously with the Rev and M. Shadows change in vocal style but they've fought back from it all and this albums shows they're in a fucking awesome place now🤘🏼
