Nowadays I'm not that much of a fan of A7X like I was in the 2000's, but they truly deserve their success. They were/are constantly changing and adapting their music from album to album, they are amazing live and know how to much a great show, and they seems to be very down to earth.
They said in October they wanna release the new stuff when they can actually play live like they want. I understand that completely, and I'd much rather wait and go see it for real than just seeing it at home

Just Matt's speaking voice sounds different to how it used to, you can hear the damage that has been done. Glad to hear how much work he's putting into protecting his voice and keeping old habits at bay now, I almost wonder if maybe not even having the option to tour this past year has been a blessing in disguise, allowing him to really take the time to heal and learn new ways to keep his vocal chords safe without the pressure of a looming tour.
Yeah, you can hear it's clearly strained, but I honestly think it's good that they are taking a little time to make a new album because that's just more time for Matt's vocals to heal!
It definitely sounds better then it did about 2 years ago before they said they weren’t going on tour because of his voice. It sounds a lot better. I agree though the more time off the better for him. I’m excited to hear the new stuff whenever it comes out

All they do now is trying to maintain the current level of audience and 'survive'. and we are talking about MEGA famous band A7X... damn that hurts

Man, this was a fantastic interview. Matt was super open. Even to openly say that the Rev (rest his soul) OD’d and it was senseless. I knew how he died years ago but to hear it come from Matt really hit me now. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid in 03 and I’m still to this day. Nightmare as hard as it was for them to put it out, it changed the world and the fans for the better. And it helped the band push past that hard time. But great questions there Pablo! Really cool to hear him talk about a 10/10 record.

I was at their first show without jimmy in 2010, I think they sounded great but you can tell they just wanted to cry the whole time. Powerful performance, one show that ill remember for the rest of my life! Also it was the first time I heard so far away and buried alive cause the album wasn't out yet god was it amazing
Nightmare! One of my favourites songs of all time. I first heard it in the hospital after my motorbike accident. When I got home I searched the internet until I found the song.
First show after the rev passed was HEAVY MTL in Montreal, Canada. I was there and what a show it was. One of the greatest performances A7X has put on IMO. You guys had insane energy that day, and I'll never forget it!
I sometimes forget I got to shake his hand at the end of a show when slipknot launched their knotfest tour in Mountain View, CA. I think it was 2017 lol. It was epic, I seen the revs deathbat on his hand real close, RIP. Such an epic night, and first time seeing them live as well

This really reminded me why these guys are and foREVer will be my favorite band. Been listening to a lot of different bands like MIW and INK and whatnot which I really like, but these guys will always be my top. Idgaf if I stop listening to them one day. I swore to myself years ago they would always be #1 in my heart. The fact that they were a group of young friends who grew up together and just wanted to rock and had a strong brotherly bond blew my mind when I was younger. Along with all their funny backstage kind of videos, I was gripped. "That is a band" I thought to myself. Not just musicians getting together that dont know eachother and just want to make money. They were in it since the beginning together. They'll always have my heart. Even if they stab me 50 fucking times.

I would put City of Evil, Waking The Fallen, and possibly The Stage ahead of Nightmare. But thats the beauty of such a great band, EVERY album really is a banger. Just a matter of personal taste among metal heads when it comes to ranking them🤘
First time I listened to the Nightmare-album, it was a emotionally ride. I couldn't hold my tears back trough "So far away" and "Fiction" . When "Save me" was on, I was on my knees. That song is a masterpiece alongside "Buried Alive".

They are indeed bunch of the nicest guys ever. They could go crazy sometimes but they're all very nice and warm. Also, I hope you'd enjoy all of their albums, it's worth all the time you'd spare to find out more about their music. I was a fan since 2007, my best friends and I did a lot of digging into their musics, performances, interviews, footages, documentaries etc. Then we took a break from 2010 cz things were too painful for us back then (esp cz we're graduating school and got separated from e/o). So I left the fandom back then to heal. I was just revisiting them all over again to catch up for the 11 years that passed and I missed, and I can sure you that these guys didn't change at all since back then. They're keeping their roots and very very down to earth. Such a huge relief.
