In the mid ‘90s, it was cool to get an incandescent light strip(LED lights were not a thing at the time) and wire it up to the subwoofer amplifier speaker outputs. The light would blink to the bass!!
Oh, and the neon speaker rings that followed in the early 2000's were also fun. I remember back in the very late 90's seeing electro-luminescent cable (EL cable) stitched onto the edges of the seat piping that went to the music. Today I have my own car stitched with fiber optic piping and ultra bright LEDs to light it up. Man things have come so far... went from feeling like 500W RMS was crazy, to feeling like my 5k amp is too small now xD
Now I don’t feel as stupid for trying to punch through a fence as a drunk teen and ending up with the same break. Congrats your hand will never be the same
The voice coil generates current called Back EMF( electro magnetic force ). A power amplifier must damp this force out to maintain control over the bass driver.
Back in the mid 90s a buddy of mine did this with leds from radio shack..i though it was cool for a minute, but annoying to drive with at night...definitely need the ability to turn it off..sound activation was a good development in this "trend" ... Imo neon/leds that don't flash are more enjoyable
Man it's a fair amount of messing around but there's no reason a switch of some sort couldn't be wired between amp output and light strip, while leaving the subwoofers on constant. I'm not sure if it's safe installing switches on speaker circuits but I can't imagine there's a problem, it's a lot less power than amp power but would work the same way as a switch on a remote wire does. I too was always very particular about having the ability to turn certain sounds/features on and off.
Dont know if this is related or not but i remember as a kid plugging in a microphone in a headphone jack and i could hear sound coming from the microphone. Always remembered that and wondered why it did that?
Some mics are actually speakers receiving signals since you can do that with any speaker. And an aux port will send audio signals to any speaker. So it would send a signal and would play out of the mic, hope that helps!
It's Rockville it got what it deserved... but the fact it broke your hand means it might deserve a little more credit, even though I've never seen a dust cap explode like that. LOL!
@@tdpsupra yeah. I did. I was 7, not out hanging with adult audio guys to see what lighting tricks they’re coming up with. Please show me who else is doing this, as to where I would’ve got the idea
When I was younger, I used to hit inanimate objects out of frustration. Never broke my hand and Ive opened up on brick walls. Once I punched a wooden street sing pole several times and my hands went numb for a couple minutes. Thats when I decided I should try and stop doing that 😅
@Bangbro4000 Lol. I really do. I got lucky though because Im a guitar player. But 20 years later and I still have no pain from the incident. Its a stupid thing to do, but when you are young and full of testosterone rage, its better than hitting people😅

That’s awesome. So they were wired up along with the subwoofer?
@@soldjahboyI’m going to have to look up fiber optic piping. It sounds cool
@@Bangbro4000 yes, wired up positive and negative to the speaker outputs on the amp.
The subwoofer is called punisher but it got punished
Not without punishing him first with a broken hand
It’s actually Rockville☝️🤓
Should’ve used a rf p3 😂
It did punish his hand
@@_FJB_yeah I got destroyed lol
Wow i broke my hand skateboarding and i felt pretty dumb. This makes me feel better.
I hope so, bc this was super dumb 😂 I even went and put shoes with good rubber on for more pushing force

Thank you! That’s a more scientific explanation than I can muster up lol. I just punch stuff
That’s true cause when you turn the amplifier on I noticed when you punch the sub or try to push it back it reacts different then when the amps off
First rule of fist fighting is dont punch with your small knuckles 😂
Young Kyle Reese can use this to fight the Terminators.
We did this back in the 70's and 80's. 😂

Ah boxer break happens all the time when throwing punches with bad form. Also happens in bloody knuckle battles also
Yep if you see that punch at the end, it was horrible lol
Eh... Can happen if the cuff is too tight... Which happened to me. I live with a metal rod in my hand for proof now.
Speakers are also microphones. Literally every speaker can easily be turned into a listening Device.
He had to roll the dice 🎲
Bro took one for rhe team
Anything for the bass community!
I'm more concerned about the health of the subwoofer.
I punched a blown type r and had to get my shit superglued
Not me not being lucky enough and not have enough money for one of those subwoofers but you smashing it

It’s actually a beefy sub with an American made coil! Not too shabby. But yeah I did bash the dust cap lol
We did that shit with Christmas lights in the 90s
A speaker, as well as a generator, are both "transducers" or, a device that converts one form of energy into another. 🎉
Woah! Thats actually cool, they should make kits for on-beat leds
That was a good sub
I've always wondered with amps and big capacitors and a moped sized engine what could we power
Is that a Rockford fosgate punch hx2 on top left?

Dayum yeah u rolled it like most do with ankles haha
Thank u some 1 had to do it

same hand same knuckle. I punched some dude in the forehead. Bad idea
It's not a new idea. Me and my friends did this way back in the early 90s.
Nope, people have done this since the beginning of speakers. Most young whipper snappers don’t know it though
I wish I could get a sub but there two expensive for me to buy
