I love the way you put some effect on your story (Arma3 / some UAV views etc). You do a lot of efforts & you deserve way more subs / view. Continue your very good work.
This is PRECISELY the kind of gaming replay video I adore and have always wanted to make. I was in a mechanized infantry company with Brads, and we usually worked with Abrams in training. Lots of nostalgia with the Raven toss, hopping out the Bradley door, the FRACU's, grunts in full PPE, etc... Thank you so much for all the effort and attention to detail here my good Sir.
Yep. Its scary stuff. Speaking of C2 micro though- I'm expecting the Russians to ramp up the jamming at some point in the campaign. Gonna be a different ball game when the Abrams can only communicate via hand signals.
Having played this campaign recently (so I can finally watch your videos without getting spoiled ;) ), it's interesting to me how differently you attacked this map. You seem to have put a lot of emphasis on taking the government complex, I personally used mutually supporting tanks on the flanks and the great support options to decimate the Russians. The intention of only taking the objective at ~30min left after completely destroying it with arty to avoid having to fight against a potential reverse slope defence (which isn't really there because the AI seems optimistic with its plan) while simultaneously clearing buildings. Also interesting that you seemingly didn't use the crazy number of javelins that much. I spent a lot of time letting javelin teams walk through woods or crawl through wheat fields to snipe some tanks :D Personally I think this might be the most enjoyable mission from this campaign. With the ridge on the left and the open flank it seems like this could be a really fun map to play a meeting engagement on (with different objectives of course).
I found out securing the central valley first and then attacking the Government complex when I have all flanks secured went pretty well. I on the other hand did not take any Abrams on the left flank to look for those T-72's which ended in me losing several vehicles pretty much for nothing.
i love the editing, hapless! i also love watching people play these games because actually playing them is far too stressful in my opinion. cheers, lookin forward to your next vid!
If you'd prefer a more laid-back turn-based game on the tactical level Camo Workshop's Steel Panthers WW2 and Main Battle Tank are worth a shot. Their download versions are free with all scenarios and campaigns available. Discs are US$40 each with extra features like greater screen resolution, platoon IDs, unit and map modding, etc. Maps are bigger and you get to see planes, jets, drones and helos (the latter stay on-map).
hey bro! Im from Argentina. I love your videos, detailed content with stunning additions from other games..... just brilliant. Could you please let me know which difficulty are you playing your campaigns on? I've started playing CM series on Iron (CMSF2 and CMBS), just to get the most realistic gameplay, but the AI is sometimes really hard to deal with. Are you on Iron too? Thanks in advanced and keep CM content coming!!!
Thanks for watching man! I usually play on Elite or Iron, but they're not really 'difficulty' settings- the AI never changes. ruclips.net/video/DZBkssgtf8A/видео.html
Splendid presentation. Just makes me wish the helicopters were actual in game models though. Hope you at least take as far as third scenario, personally found intriguing and different.
It'd be nice to have all the air assets ingame, but the problem is that their engagement ranges are so long they wouldn't spend any time on the map! I've picked up that the third mission is different from a few sources. I don't know any details, but hopefully its going to look more appetising than mission 2!
Quite right about the helicopters but a man can dream - just give us bigger maps Battlefront. :). Yeah mission 2 an anti climax after the first fight. Black Sea provides lots of cool toys to play with but difficulty coming up with ideas as to how to actually play with them. Mission 3 one of few that manage it. (IMHO).
Planes in WW2 titles could get some semi-decent screentime. Regardless, it would be great to have various aircraft wrecks available, you could make a variety of objectives based off of them (rescue the pilot, secure the aerial photographs, destroy the wreck...)
Congratulations on the victory, although I wager that losing a platoon of Bradleys in the process is not exactly what you had in mind! I assume you'll be playing this campaign to its conclusion? If so, you'll be the only RUclipsr with any skill to do so!
Yeah, I can say that burning Bradleys weren't in the plan. I can also say that going into the next mission with half-platoons of infantry was also not part of the plan, lol! I am going to do my best to get to the end of the campaign though.
Hapless -- where would an air force guy like me learn about battalions and such? I need the conversion key: a wing = ? group = ? squadron=? Get what I mean?
There's a quick guide on wikipedia, but you kind of have to compare two different tables matching up symbology: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_organization A TLDR for very rough conversion: Wing = Brigade Squadron = Battalion It's pretty hard to convert directly because the pointiness of the pointy-end is very different
Yes: ruclips.net/video/Buyoio2Flpg/видео.html From a modern perspective, although mines are present there isn't any mine clearing equipment. So while the Allies in WW2 can call on flail-tanks to clear paths, that's not currently an option in Cold War, Shock Force and Black Sea.
i just grab the game and i have played this scenario and the governement complex it's a trap omg !!! i have lost so many bradley and troops in this zone
One very minor critique: I normally don't quabble about American/British pronunciation, but 'AbrAM' bugs the hell out of me. I'm not a tanker, but I've always heard it pronounced like 'Abrum.'
I am quite glad to see more CM:BS missions are in the pipeline. Now that you've made some mistakes with your men, how will you change your plans in the future? More suppression before an assault? Scouting? URAAAH charges?
Well if there was an option for an URAAAH! charge... I did start tearing the whole thing apart to see how I could have done it better, but it added about another 20mins onto the video. On the plus side, that's coming next.
It just refers to the human models in the Combat Mission games, usually but not always the infantry. Its "pixeltruppen", which is kind of fake German for "pixel troops", or troops made out of pixels. Along those lines.
@@SR-hl3jf they're doing a pretty decent damn job of it, and no mistake. Whether they can continue to do so long term or not is up for debate, but nobody can deny they've stood tall without direct foreign military intervention so far.

Cool video!
Those ARMA and SteelBeasts clips make the video so much more immersive - really nice idea. :)

how do you get the view of the helo's the FPV in the cockpit, the ground troop launching the raven drone??...where are these camera angles?
That's all ARMA, not CM.
Incredibly well done video and great gameplay to boot!
Very informative presentation and video highlights. Keep on truckin'!
The Recon-Bradley has APS you can use it to probe ahead of the Bradley Platoon.
I know, I just don't trust the APS to work when I need it to.
its better than nothing IMHO
Excellent! That was awesome, looking ahead for more.
Cheers! Already chewing up the second campaign mission.
I'm glad you showed even a veteran like yourself can give into impatience and your run of the map wasn't some scripted no deaths play
Great, is this ARMA3 + SB PRO + CMBS? Cool video and nice explanation
Yep, ARMA3 with a load of RHS assets and a touch of Steel Beasts. I wanted to get more Steel Beasts in, but its harder to do than ARMA.
Bravo, nicely done.
