I bought my '15 Mahindra 2540 (Tym with 4 cylinder 40hp Mahindra MCRD engine) in 2016 with 60 hours on it. I'm very easy on it doing mostly snow removal, maybe 4 hours of PTO mowing, 8 hours of spreading crushed concrete and sand, some stump and root pulling, and other than that moving stuff around our 2.5 acres and lots of idling (now has 120 hours). The only issue I had was it not running cleanly above 1800 rpm, and the dealer did an ECU update and it's run like a champ since. I haven't had a single issue with it. I came really close to buying a new Branson until I saw it on CL. The Deere and Kubota in the same price range weren't impressive and dealers were pretty much desk jockeys. I'm very happy with my purchase and would do it again.
I'm on my third mahindra never had a problem with any of them I put about 800 hours a year on them and I don't use them lightly. I have 2000 acres of hunting property that is manicured like a golf course. I use them like bulldozers they get rode hard and put up wet almost everyday. I'm going this week to buy another one 85 horse just because I have never heard anyone say MAN I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A SMALLER TRACTOR!! I have a 65 horse and have hooked it to a kubota 125 horse and drug it off because all other tractors are mostly plastic. There's a reason mahindra is the #1 selling tractor in the world. If its not a mahindra leave it where you found it!!
Here in India you would be shocked to see what these tractors go through at the farms and still come out strong. Mahindra manufacturers the most rigid and toughest machines. Good to see these vehicles doing the same in the US 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hank, enjoyed the one year review of your 4540. It is obvious that you are really pleased with your tractor which is a good thing. Imagine how bad it would have been to have bought a tractor that did not meet your expectations. A very nice tractor and a great review.
I've had a max 25 with b26 backhoe for 3 months now. Power and lift capacity are unreal. Would recommend mahindra to anyone. Love mine. Glad you are enjoying yours. Your videos are great. Fun and informative
We actually have a Branson now. Mahindra makes a good tractor. But I'm really impressed with the Branson. Thanks for watching and have fun on your max25. 👍
I have a 4530 and it is a really solid tractor. No problems over the last 5 years. It is a 6000 pound utility tractor that is simple and rugged. It meets Tier 4 with no turbo or DPF.
We own Mahindra 225 . Which is the base model and we purchased it 20 years back. We still running it a d no problem. That is the grid of built quality.
They are some nice tractors and not having to deal with the EPA crud is a big plus. I'm glad it has worked so good for you and you are happy with it. Have a good week!
I just had my dealer perform my 50hr service. Still in love with my 4550!! You mentioned expanded metal for your grille guard. I think you would like what i did with mine. I put up a video. See what you think.
The only thing that concerns me is that Mahindra dealers seem to come and go. No long-established dealers near me carry it. Good video Hank! I know you put that tractor through its paces.
Yeah they have been a few do that. I bought mine from the oldest dealer in Florida. Established service is a huge part in the decision making process. Have a good one Phil. Hope you sale a ton of Christmas trees 👍
You and I purchased our Mahindra tractors around same time, you have edged past me on hours, I’m currently at 177 without any down time. I love my 4550, as for the r4 tires I love them, I have had several tractors all with the ag tires and was reluctant to get the r4 at first, I plow, disc, brush hog, almost everything I done with ag tires, no there not great in mud but they will make up for in other areas, especially in weight capacity with loader. I plow around 10 acres with no problem,. My recommendations , canopy, light bar, saw haul, fluid in tires. Hank and I have almost identical looking tractors. Hope to get many years of service from my Mahindra. Look at engine tags on the green and other red, they say yanmar, tym, I’ve researched and looked at them all. Mahindra beats them all for the amount of tractor for money and reliability.
I have truly been happy with mine. My biggest piece of advice would be to make sure the dealer is gonna take care of you after the sale if anything went wrong. Thanks for the comment Farm Dad👍
My 6075 comes in at 10,000 lbs., and it is a beast, the two deal breakers on the smaller tractors,....weaker front axle 4wd system, and the shuttle shift. I'm at 400 hours on mine and not one single issue. I service it myself and never bother with the dealer,...who is 5 miles away. I do have to roll the yard after I drive on it....if the wife complains about the AG tire tracks.
If you can convince your local Mahindra dealer to reflash the computer, you can boost your horsepower to the same as the 4550 which I think is 48 horsepower instead of 41. Not a huge increase but noticeable
I think Mahindra is a great brand to consider. My friend Dave has a Mahindra eMax and he is very satisfied with it. Are your Mahindra dealers around you exclusively Mahindra or are they associated with Case IH? Thanks!
Nice video Thanks for posting I have a mahindra 3540 It’s been a hell of a tractor I have a little over 300 hours, I’ve had it 4 and half years( I know this cause I only have 6 months left to pay on it) And I’ve had no issues
Mahindra is among the largest tractor manufacturer in the world. They are very large group with revenue of over 20 billion dollar. Mahindra group also makes SUVs . They are in IT services .
How boutcha Hank? I really like your channel. I have been watching your videos for several months now. I recently started my own channel called "Tractor Talk With Gary". I have plans this winter to interview a Kubota dealer and a Mahindra dealer. I am in talks with John Deere and Massey Ferguson. I have spoken with New Holland, but have not heard back as of yet. I live in Iowa on a 224 acre farm that my wife and I own. We have featured some of the equipment that we have used on this farm. I graduated high school in 1974 and some of this equipment was working every day then and still works today. We have several tractors that are classics. I have 5 John Deeres and a 1940 Ford 9N with a buzz saw on the back of it. I do a short demo of that. I started my channel because I have always had a passion for tractors and there is a huge interest out here on the internet for tractors and the freedom of a rural life. I cut firewood and have to main Tain over 110 acres of woodland pasture with a 60 in. brush hog. It is a lot of work but it has many rewards. Most of them come from a sense of accomplishment after a full days work. I enjoy checking out your channel. Stop on over to mine and check it out sometime. Please feel free to leave a comment. for that expanded metal guard you spoke of? I'd weld some small angle iron clips to drill holes through then use them to bolt on you metal mesh (may need a frame ?) so you can remove it if you need to
While watching your video, I noticed your gear shift lever looks taller than the stock one. I also have a 2023 4540 and was curious if there was an extension or extender. Any input would be greatly appreciated. God Bless.
My 4540 seat sits to low for anyone not a midget, The Lift Arms are about 8 inches short and the whole setup is way lighter than a 3000/3930/4000 Ford. The lift cylinders are way lighter than the Ford. We will see how well it does over time.
Whats your take on loader operation with old school style gear tractor. My other pick is the 5145 that has a shuttle but i really like the setup on the 4540. Super simple. Suoer familiar layout to me coming off my old ford 3000. My dealer has me approved on a 4540 i looked at today.
What did you end up getting? 30/40HP sounds like overkill to me. 8 acres is solidly in 25HP territory. Especially if it's primarily going to be used for mowing, which doesn't require much PTO HP. FYI - I have a NH Boomer 40 (39HP, 34.3 PTO) for 27 acres of mostly hilly woods and Yanmar YT347 (44.3HP, 39.5 PTO) for 50 acres of mostly hilly woods. Both are larger than necessary for most parcels under 10 or even 20 acres.
When I started tractor shopping I liked the Mahindra until I seen a couple bad reviews on one model. I was going with a Kubota l2510 but found a used l275... I'm happy with it and think it is built better then the new l2510... I was not going over 25hp due to the regen.... The l275 is a tank hi low ranged four gears In each...love that old school and the purr of the kubota three cylinder.... before this I bought a b7800 hydro and it amazed me just what a 16hp tractor with fel and backhoe could do.... But I find I really dont miss the hydro except maybe a little during loader work..... Dont think I will ever need another, but if I do I will check out Mahindra....
I own a 4550. 40 hrs. I find it can’t climb a 20 deg. slope. It’s very heavy plus I have liquid in the tires. Is the excesses weight the reason it can’t climb? 4 wheel drive was on, rear dif locked! No weight in the bucket or attachment connected. It gets half way up the slope and both rear wheels spin and dig in. Thanks
i'm curious....I was reading a pretty harsh review of the Mahindra last night claiming that it's decade-old tech.......clunky gears so expect future clutch work..... running hot etc......no complaints like that anyone ?
My 4540 tractor started running hot, in the red on dummy gauge. Radiator was clogged with dust and debris which I cleaned up. Overflow bottle was above maximum and radiator was low. I drained some fluid from bottle, looked good no contamination. Same with radiator...Refilled radiator. Ran tractor with cap off to make sure all trapped air escaped, lots of air and bubbles. Replaced cap and test run tractor. Running cool again but fluid and air going to Overflow again, even while running cool. When I first removed radiator cap after complete cool down next morning there was pressure in radiator. I'm thinking bad thermostat or cap... Any suggestions?
Nice video. That tractor looks brand new. Only 250 hours. You need to step it up haha. I like the cutting edge you added to the bucket. Nice tractor. I’m fact checking your specs.
I may pull trigger on the exact same tractor - how large is the property you work with yours? What’s your thought on this tractor for 62 acres with a little bit of pasture, for creating trails and general all purpose tractor jobs? Great video!
I’m looking for a good powerful tractor to work my 24 acres I looked at the 4540 today and I liked how it was old school looking I’ve also looked at other brands I liked the Branson too 3620r why did you swap from mahindra to Branson do you like the Branson better I have 2 mahindra dealers close and a Branson dealer 1.5hrs away
My concern with getting a bigger tractor like the 4540 is how much higher you sit vs a smaller model. However, the larger tractors are wider with wider tires so i don't know if makes much of a difference??
Yeah, you have to consider those things for sure. Get the size you need/can afford for all the task you're gonna be doing. If you know you're gonna be lifting heavy objects all the time, get something that can handle that or else you'll be frustrated when you go to do a job. 👍 Thanks for the comment 👍
My fiancée and I are going to be purchasing a house that was resined to 2.1 acres. The older couple on the property are going to be building a tiny house and the end of the lot(total lot is 11 acres roughly). We would have the potential to buy most if not all of the land later down the road. Currently they have a 4550 with the loader that they will be selling once their work is done. Would this be too much tractor for the 2 acres considering we would get more acres later in your option?
I am glad that your Mahindra has served you well. I watched two other reviews on Mahindra tractors that gave me pause. Here is one: ruclips.net/video/YeeCl6NAaXo/видео.html . Here is the second one: ruclips.net/video/_kfEaArqXFA/видео.html . Comments?
I've seen both of those...even before I purchased mine. I really feel like they didn't give Mahindra a fair shake in those videos. If you watch the first one, he takes it to a buddy in another video to help fix it, and essentially, its just a loose fuel line. And the second one he was using vice grips on the battery to hold the cables on, and some other things. So I just think they both had an ax to grind with Mahindra for whatever reason. I don't know anything about the Chuck guy, but the Good of the Land channel has great videos and does a lot of good things for the homesteading community. I am really happy with mine. Watch my videos and you'll see this thing put through the paces. If you are considering a tractor and you're looking at the Mahindra, then make sure your dealer is awesome. I think a lot of their issues as well, was not a good relationship with the dealer. Like I said, watch what we do on here. We've documented the toughness of these machines pretty good. ....Thanks for the comment and I appreciate you stopping by and watching!
Looks like a solid machine. I have VERY long legs, does mahindra make a tractor with ample work station space? Or can they be modified in regards to legroom? Thanks in advance for your insight.
My grandfather has a Mahindra and it’s always been a good running and strong machine, but Iv fixed multiple leaks and they don’t build the loser strong enough for how much power and lift strength it has.
@@blackriflemensorganization6139 It seriously amazes me how much it can lift and pull and drag. I'm not sponsored by Mahindra or anything like that, so I have no reason to sugar coat...but I really like the power of this tractor. It's heavy and dependable. The only thing I wish sometimes is I would have got a PST. The clutch is kinda tough on my old knee.
I am looking for aftermarket blades for my mahindra emax25m-2514 60 inch mower deck model AEMAHME60. blade oem part number AME050008. 21 INCH BLADES WITH A 5/8 INCH CENTER HOLE
I have no idea why more folks dont buy gear-drive tractors. I have owned several tractors from several manufacturers. Hydrostatic drive SUCKS! it works pretty much ok, but the hst pumps are deafening! a guy can't hear a damn thing after operating one for an hour even! multiply that by at least 2 if you have a cab on it.

Thanks
Another thing your gonna get with a Mahindra steel hood and fenders. Most tractors now have plastic or fiberglass hoods and fenders.
Thanks Rdrake👍
Indian king mahindra i love this
Thanks for watching 👍
i'm curious....I was reading a pretty harsh review of the Mahindra last night claiming that it's decade-old tech.......clunky gears so expect future clutch work..... running hot etc......no complaints like that anyone ?
I may have been off a few pounds 😳🤣
Mahindra is pride of India🇮🇳
Thanks for watching
I may pull trigger on the exact same tractor - how large is the property you work with yours? What’s your thought on this tractor for 62 acres with a little bit of pasture, for creating trails and general all purpose tractor jobs? Great video!
Never mind - I got the answers - thanks
Thanks for watching 👍
Best mahindra Indian tractor
Right on👍
Have you tried ordering parts? It took 3 months to get a axle seal for mine. Four months for a fender. Did Mahindra pay you for this video?
I’m looking for a good powerful tractor to work my 24 acres I looked at the 4540 today and I liked how it was old school looking I’ve also looked at other brands I liked the Branson too 3620r why did you swap from mahindra to Branson do you like the Branson better I have 2 mahindra dealers close and a Branson dealer 1.5hrs away
Goodbye MAHINDRA! We got a NEW Tractor!

The operator station seems to have great HMI (human-machine interface). Mahindra must have done some good human-factors engineering into their design.
LOL. It's where a lot of thinking goes on :)
Mahindra owns Pinnenfarina, the Italian Design firm that Ferraris and a whole lot of other stuff
How do you add the grapple to your 4540?
My concern with getting a bigger tractor like the 4540 is how much higher you sit vs a smaller model. However, the larger tractors are wider with wider tires so i don't know if makes much of a difference??
Yeah, you have to consider those things for sure. Get the size you need/can afford for all the task you're gonna be doing. If you know you're gonna be lifting heavy objects all the time, get something that can handle that or else you'll be frustrated when you go to do a job. 👍 Thanks for the comment 👍
Hello I was wondering where did get your canopy for your mahindra tractor

Here ya go
Why did you buy the tym . What made you change?
We traveled 1500 MILES in 24 Hours for this load!

Have any experience with the 4025 4wd? Is the 4540 the same frame?
The 4025 is the older model number. They upgraded the model to the 4540.
I’d get it. You’ll find so many uses for it.
@@HamiltonvilleFarm thanks!
@@HamiltonvilleFarm I have seen all of your videos. Thank you for your reply.
Looks like a solid machine. I have VERY long legs, does mahindra make a tractor with ample work station space? Or can they be modified in regards to legroom? Thanks in advance for your insight.
i'm not Sure . but Branson has a 5835 that has tons of space. you should check them out ! Thanks for watching
Whats the price??
Would the 2WD version for be heavy enough for a front end loader?
ruclips.net/video/YmK9q57vMcE/видео.html
Did you get the canopy from Mahindra? If not, what brand is it?
ruclips.net/video/WlKwa8qZhCI/видео.html
Can I try it out
Great review 👍
Thanks for watching 👍
My grandfather has a Mahindra and it’s always been a good running and strong machine, but Iv fixed multiple leaks and they don’t build the loser strong enough for how much power and lift strength it has.
Thanks for watching 👍
Nice tractor. How come the front loader says 4550 on 4540 model? An upgrade? Hoping to get one of these!
No,just the same model for both Tractors 👍 thanks for watching! Have a good one.
@@HamiltonvilleFarm thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I've had my eyes on one of these for some time now. Looks like a lot of tractor for the money!
Great vid!
Thanks for watching 👍
I am looking for aftermarket blades for my mahindra emax25m-2514 60 inch mower deck model AEMAHME60. blade oem part number AME050008. 21 INCH BLADES WITH A 5/8 INCH CENTER HOLE
I miss you and the 4540. We go way back. I drove and worked a 4540 today. It was nice and very enjoyable. Best regards. Mark.
We do go way back! I always enjoy seeing your comments 👍
What size brush hog can you pull with it
General rule of thumb is 5' per 5hp.
Is the 4540 a shuttle shift.. ?
No. Gear drive.
Big like my friend well done buddy
Thank you John!
