i have owned a 3510 Mahindra for about 17 yrs yes i,ve had a few issues none bad, but over all it out performs built heavier and cheaper in price then american named tractors which are made over seas now. Been very satisfied with it. Would buy another if needed ..
Most tractors have these little minor things go bad, especially the new ones. I've seen kabota and deere with many problems. I've also seen many of all these tractors with perfect tractors that never give problems. The problem is most of the time it's the dealer that is bad, not the tractor company, but the company should make the dealership live up to standards.
I am surprised watching this. I have 3 Mahindras and never have a problem. The Deere I had ran for 350 hours then fell apart. I take great maintenance of all my equipment so I concluded these guys do not!

I know this may seem a bit biased seeing that I work for Mahindra but our tractors are more durable than any John Deere tractor out there pound-for-pound Mahindra is the best, load for load, Mahindra is the best and its being put together right here in the USA and our culture at work is even greater if you want a tractor that performs under pressure pound-for-pound load for load and want overall quality choose Mahendra. real talk
All old tractors well made, without exceptions, all europeans talk about old Perkins and In the US John Deere. But today, all tractors manufacturers have cut corners, from the chassis to the reliability of the engines. In India, there is better quality than China and in par or sometimes better than western manufacturers. This video is biased and its just giving a bad name to Mahindra, JD owners are acustomed to getting overcharged and especially with CPU related issues, and Mahindra is just getting a bad name because of bad customer service
A five year warranty on a battery? As if. To charge a battery you use a battery charger, at 2 to 6 amps, not just let it idle. To check the alternator simply use a multimeter. I’ll quit there.
Paul Duke ive seen more problems with luxury cars than a simple ole ford. Get what im saying. Nothing man made is perfect every piece of equipment i own requires maintenance and repair
I have 1997 ford 2120 4/4 shuttle uped hp to 57 hp when I got it. used it as a bulldozer lots of loader work and a lot of hard work beyond what it was built for. Im on my 5th set of rubber. I was thinking of trading but now im keeping it untill its dies or out lives me.
@@joepiker4473 At our railway museum we still have our Ford 1500 blue and white tractor made in Japan bought in the 1980's.All made of steel, bulet proof diesel motor and most of all, no issues.Try to beat this Mahindra and all!
Problem is if you get a Deere there's a chance you'd still get a Mahindra, just with Green plastic fenders. Deere is a brand in name only anymore. They don't produce anything below 200hp themselves anymore, pretty sure they don't even own themselves anymore. All their low hp stuff comes out of South Korea, the mid Hp stuff India with a little over lap, the low hp 100 hp stuff and up is made by Case in Turkey while all the specialty low profile, narrow stuff and whatnot is made by Same/Duetz Fahr in Europe.
@@horseblinderson4747 Well, thats a very wrong kind of mindset you have there. It doesnt matter who makes it but who OKs it to be sold in the market. JD has its quality control over all these places however JD itself isnt the best brand out there. Nothing can trump Claas when it comes to farm equipment quality and nothing can trump New Holland when it comes to versatility.
ChuckE2009 another youtuber had the tractor and the same problems his buddy Stephen cox(on youtube as well)fixed it some what after chuck tried calling the dealer and the tractor company itself them both gave him the run around til mihinda seen the video then they got on their horse
Have a Max26xl and 160 hours, but no problems so far. A work horse for it's size. Only big complaint, backhoe hydraulics have no B...., had a ripper made for it and the bucket teeth are as good as the ripper tooth. No power. Is there some adjustment for the output on the pump?
Seems like a fair assessment of the tractor. The manufacturer used some low cost items to keep the price down. Like the man said,” pay me now or pay me later”, either way you got to pay.
Quick tip for checking an alternator. When it is charging you can stick a screwdriver to the middle on the back and the charging action creates an electromagnet. Screwdriver drawn to center strongly you got a charge. Very week or not at all and you got a bad alternator.
Thanks for good video. Sorry to hear early problems with fuel lines and charging. Three years, 650 hours without any problems with the 4025 4WD I expect to replace battery in near future.
I put a small solar charger on my mahindra and it really seems to keep the battery up when sitting around a long time....cheaper than replacing batteries. I have them on all my trucks, vans, passenger cars, boats, etc. they seem to work so well, especially if you get a lot of sunshine.
We had similar problems and more with our 6110 shuttle cab. Mahindra never solved the heat sensor issue. The heating and the a.c. never worked. Then, right at 300 hours in 3 years the clutch failed. Mahindra charged me $5000 to replace the clutch. That was the end of the road for us. As my son says nothing sits like a Mahindra and nothing runs like a Deere. Today we drive 5095M John Deere tractor on the farm.
Isn't it under warranty? Did I miss why you didn't take it back to the dealer and let them fix everything while it is under warranty? This does two things...adds data to the vendor about issues with the tractors and also prevents you from doing the work...I'm sure you can do the work and do it better than the dealer but that isn't the point. I do think certain models are problems but I feel that way with all brands. I’ve had a 5145 mahindra for a cpl years, have had zero issues “knock on wood” and I’m not easy on it.
Those fuel lines are just like BMW hydraulic lines for power steering. The crimp connections loose tension. They can be repaired without removing the lines by using a quality German worm clamp over them and retension the fuel lines (or hydraulic lines for that matter). Very common practice to fix these crimp clamps. Not a failing of Mahindra just a poor industry practice...
I own a 2014 4025 4WD Mahindra, only issue was lugnuts came loose on front right wheel, have 200 hours of fairly aggressive use (snowblowing and loader work) have been very happy so far. Nearest dealer though is 2 hours away...fingers crossed! It's been paid off for 3 years now, only paid a little over 20K so not a huge investment. Would I buy another? Probably not since no nearby dealers. Since I purchased there's a new Kioti dealer 10 minutes away. Kind of live in middle of nowhere here in the U.P.
Even after watching all these videos I still made the decision to purchase a Mahindra 2538 with front End loader and Backhoe. I have 80 hours on it now and no major issues maybe I’m lucky or maybe I haven’t hit 130 break down hour yet. I try to keep a eye on the issues you have to see if they will be an issue with mine. What I hate is they don’t even put a full size battery on the tractors anymore. The dealer even showed me this before selling. He hates is as much as the buyer does. They install a 40 buck lawnmower battery on it knowing it might not even last a year.
Nope. Currently have 210 hours Had hydraulic lines vibrate loose, I did a full fluid and filter replacement last month- found shavings in both oil and hydraulic. Took a picture and shavings to dealer they said it was “common”. I’m oddly still using the same original battery. Cleaned the posts regularly, I would say overall it’s still performing to manufactures specs. When warranty expires I’ll be turning the hydraulics up as I feel they have slightly weakened.
I had exactly the same problem with the electrical system on a 5555 and found that the charge wire from alternator was not hooked up to the battery at all. Why did they wire it that way? My temp guage barely works too. Love to know the fix becasue mine only moves about 1/9 inch off the stop. I have 2 Fords a 90's model 3930 and a 70's model 4000 and they are much superior to the Mahindra in build quality.

The Angry Fish Guy I bought a 5075 John Deere. (75 hp) It’s made in India. I had to replace the fuel lines and the battery at 1 year 150 hours . Are the John Deere’s made by Mahindra? Serious question. A lot of the Deere parts seems similar . I won’t by a Deere again. The axles are Chinese ( Wuxi Jinmao axles on mine ). The rest is India components assembled in India . If you think John Deere uses American components and assembly on utility tractors, they don’t . The hoses are India , batteries India , all the small stuff went to junk. The Chinese parts actually seem pretty decent. Hard to believe it’s cheaper to assemble tractors in India and ship to USA but that is the reality. What’s a good option for a utility tractor these days ? Case IH only makes their huge tractors in the USA as well. And Case isn’t an American company anymore either . It’s owned by Fiat group. Hard to believe we can’t do tractors......

Closest you can get in a tiny to mid sized tractor you can get that isn't cobbled together by multinational conglomerates re-badged and re-branded is Kubota, they own, engineer, build, market all their own stuff they do source some engines mostly on their big stuff that they don't have licked yet.
Great video , I like how you weren't bashing mahindra but simply stating the facts. My neighbor has a 50 hp mahindra that I work on frequently for him and it's very cumbersome and frustrating just like you pointed out with the fuel line
I got a 2013 4025 4 wheel drive. I have to replace my fuel line and now I have 2 that are leaking, replace the battery this spring, and now I got to replace the tie rods.None of my stuff is under warranty. I love my tractor however it is aggravating. Tie Rods are 125.00 each plus shipping.
Kubota guys says he has many problems with his tractor, mahindra guys says he has lots of problems with their tractor, john dhree guys says mine was worse and other also complain the same. Could any one tell which one is best.
I believe it's ease of operation myself. Some tractors have easy to get at grease fittings. Quick access to battery and an option to move forward or backwards while out of machine.
My Mahindra 6500 had exactly the same 2 fuel lines leak. I just used regular fuel line and gear clamps instead of those braided lines with crimps. Too much hassle to replace them again.
Indian guys should not get sentimental over mahindra .if the tractor is giving problems then thats how it is .this is the experience here in this video .

Don't know if somebody already told you this, but the banjo bolt is named after the banjo fitting that it is used with. That circle on the end of a tube looks suspiciously like a banjo, and the same name is used by some to refer to heim joints for the same reason. I've never worked on a Mahindra. I'm not on the farm any more, but we had John Deere and Kubota. Both pretty good, but both brands had things going on with them that made you wonder what the designer was thinking. Maybe not as many things as that Mahindra.

I've owned my Mahindra 1533 for about a year now and I'm very pleased with its performance. I'm not sure that John Deere and/or Kubota hasn't paid for some of the negative Mahindra reviews.
I hate to say it but, John Deere cuts a lot of corners today as well. They still run good though. Think we will skip messing with a Mahindra however, perhaps a Cub/Yanmar or a New Holland. Might just get another Massy
right, they ALL can and do break down. You'd better have a good owners manual and shop manual nowadays for any of this high tech equipment and be willing to work on it yourself or you're going to be sitting around bitching instead of getting work done.
There is definitely a market for a better made utility tractor. I’d pay more for a durable tractor. Too bad bobcat doesn’t get into the utility tractor game in a serious way. The product that Deere , Mahindra, and Case IH put out in the utility size is foreign import garbage. I renamed my JD 5075 to Johnny Mahindra. Last JD I will buy. .

+patrick evans On the day before filming the tractor would not start so Homer removed the battery. The bolt broke.(Me talking about cheap hardware in the vid refers to this) The farm is 39 miles from the hardware store so he charged the battery and used vice grips to clamp the battery. We replaced the bolt. Hope this helps Patrick.
Well from my experience on my tractor if you keep your coolant and oil monitored, engine will reach a temperature from where it wont change whatever you do.
Banjo Bolt - The bolt itself is not really where the name banjo comes from. It's the connector that's the banjo. If you look at it, the end kinda looks like a banjo with the round bottom and the neck of the fuel line. Also, I have a Mahindra tier 3 and it's awesome. Sure there are a handful of cheap things on there that are definitely annoying, but with a bit of mechanical imagination, a handy mechanic can work around most of these things. The only bad thing that happened to mine was that from leaving it outside in the winter, condensation built up in the hydraulic filter, froze, and while snowblowing... the filter exploded spraying fluid all over my driveway. I keep the tractor inside the garage in the winter now and haven't had that problem since.

Not sure whether it an engineering problem, corporate, maybe both or even warranty work.. I do know if it's corporate, it's get the product out and we'll (try?) to fix it later. Seems to me a real fix for your temp problem would be to use an old fashioned wet bulb temp gauge. But I'm sure that their electronic unit sends info to the computer to add insult to injury...
Mahindra does not have a long history of engineering experience. They became big on the tractors that they made by buying the manufacturing blueprints from international. Mahindra is making tractors since 1963 but most of the time it was selling low cost old model knok-offs of international. They have started engineering their own tractors may be 20 years or so which isnt a long time considering other companies experience. Their largest customer base is in India and the reason being they sell a tractor which essentially is a pulling machine on 4 wheels. There are no new tech on it, no innovations, no good service(In India people hardly care about dealership proving any service because owners will take their tractor to local mechanics and get them fixed(most owners dont or cant fix their own equipment). So if you want to buy a tractor go with a company which has lots of experience about not just making more machine but engineering more machines because they will know what serves customers better. I have New holland and there is place below the dash which I broke last summer as i was discing hard ploughed land, I asked my dealer for replacement and turns out the company has already change from plastic to metal because of this issue and that is what I call engineering. There was steering oil heating problem and they added radiator for that.
It's called a banjo bolt because of the shape of the "nut" the bolt goes through, looks sort of like a banjo. Odd that the "nut" part is the source of the name but the bolt is what we use the name with.
I've got a 4500. Had to replace the clutch, fuel lines and alternator twice in a little over 400 hours. That's absurd. I had a a 1965 Ford 4000 that I put through some heavy use for about 500 hours. No problems.
Fuel lines and an alternator doesn't go bad unless they're cheap or inferior parts. Two months in a dealer is outrageous to correct those problems. You buy a tractor to do a job not sit in a garage or a service lot. If you can't fix them don't sell them.
I bought a 97 kubota L series tractor. It is only 32 hp. It had 400 hrs on it. I have changed hoses and belts on it . I am happy with it. I pull s plow , disc and bushhog with it. It probably is too small to make hay.
This video made me question the quality of the "number one selling tractor in the world" after more research I decided to go with the Orange one. Thank you for an honest review! I don't think any brand is perfect but I feel like some brands give better support if you have issues. Also feel like some brands are more prone to the same issues. Thanks again, love the videos!
i have a mehindra tractor 5525 with 600 hours on it yes 600 and i am on my third fuel injector pump and and mehindra wont help us out it cost 2000.00 dollars to have it rebuilt. and now we put the pump on and all the fuel lines blew. we have had a new dash put in new seat. replaced spindles on each side 3 times. i will never recommend them . the first time the pump went was 140 hrs and they took tractor and had it 5 mos. before it got fixed. so now i have a 30,000 dollars tractor that is always broken.

I noticed the vise grips on the battery terminal which you didn't completely edit out. I don't know why it was there but I'm pretty sure someone thought it would fix something. More than likely someone left the lights on, the battery ran down, and about then someone decided to jump start the tractor and reverse the jumper cables which shorted out one of the diodes in the alternator. If that is what happened then it would have happened on a John Deere as well. This isn't the first video I've seen where the customer had difficulty and the dealer wasn't good to deal with. That's an issue for sure and I would recommend that people find out how the potential dealer is to deal with after the sale. Thanks for the information.

The day before this homer removed the battery to have it tested and charged and the cheap bolt broke lost its threads while being tightened . The vicegrips were a quick farm fix untill he could make it back to town. Hope that helps. Thanks brother.
My grandfather did the same thing on our Poppin Johnny as his dad. Funny part was I tried to tell him just before he hit the start but he never let me finish what I was trying to say. I got a lecture how he had been driving tractors before I was born and didn't need me to tell him how to start it, he got a tin can shooting 20' in the air and hitting him square on the head.
The electrical systems on these new small foreign built tractors, reminds me of a 1960's British sports car. I had a 30HP tractor made in China, it ran OK when you could get it started. unfortunately theres nothing out there any better.
your problem is the ground coming from the battery where it bolts on side. That is what your problem is on this tractor. Tighten it up and let battery charge and your good. Thanks

From what I am seeing is every company has "cut corners" when they make tractors. John Deere has put more plastic on their tractors, Kubota has as well and done other things to make more money. When most farmers/ranchers can't afford a full/good tractor this is what you get.

My neighbors Deer is a little over a year old and the Hydraulic hoses are leaking. Every tractor made today is loaded with Korean, Chinese, Indian and/or Mexico parts. The Korean TYM tractor corporation owns Rural King, New Holland, LS, Branson and I think one other tractor company. They also own several companies that make hoses, fuel lines and electrical parts manufacturers. One guy has the same tractor and the fuel lines and alternator is ok but the fuel rail is shot and then some other guy has problems with the wire to the stater from the ignition switch on a different Mahindra. We are shopping for a tractor and as I have seen videos of people hating on every make and model tractor, I am focusing on if it is something minor or major. When we purchased laptops, we had HP that the CD Drive failed on it and it turns out that is a common issue with HP laptops of that model, so we switched to the Lenovo and those in less than two years, the hinges seized up and the back of the screen and main case shattered. All four of them and upon researching, that was their issue. They offered to sell us new hinges... the same hinges that fail in about two years. We went to the new HP Omen because we can easily put on an external blue-ray drive. Those Lenovo still work like new after 6 years but they are literally epoxied back together. Knowing all I know about the Mahindra weaknesses, I would still buy one with the old manual shift system. To me it is the ability to get parts long term and add on what I want as I need it. The TYM dealer told us that if we do not buy the mower deck with the tractor, we can not order a mower deck later. Now this is only with the mower deck, not the tillers, rotary cutter or box blade. I still found that strange that the mower deck is not available if you do not get it with the tractor new. I asked about if it fails and you need a new one under warranty and they said they could get one in that case but they can not sell the mower decks to anyone(TYM forbids it). This sounds like a gimmick to sell more mower decks with new tractors. This is what sent me looking at Mahindra. Until we figure out what to buy new, we are talking about buying an old 9N or 8N Ford to use for making our driveway and 100 X 100 foot yard.

Ive done less work on my 1968 Case backhoe with 5670 hours on the gas engine. And the parts are cheaper and the local auto parts store will order them for me... so i like shiny but reliable means more to me.
I'd take a 8n ford or ferguson any day. I was lookin at a mahindra tractor the other day but after all them problems your havin with a almost new tractor with low hours then I don't think I want one. it makes me wonder what kinda problems I'd have with it after a few years with a lot more hours

Thank you for the video. This model seems to have some electrical issues for some reason. A one year old tractor should not have fuel lines leaking and battery charging issues. So far I've owned a New Holland Workmaster 50 going on a year with zero issues Actually I did have to tighten the lower radiator hose. That's it. New Holland uses the same emissions technology on their Workmaster series with a catalytic converter. My dealer sells Mahindra and Kubota along with New Holland. The Workmaster is made in India. I've lived on the farm my whole life. My dad was a salesman in the day. Sold Allis Chalmers. Also sold New Holland hay equipment. All tractors and equipment will fail. Dealer and part support is paramount. Two months and I would have been livid. Good luck with your tractor.
I had a new John deer earlier and had many problems with it. Thats why i bought a Mahindra. Since then i have had no problems with the mahindra.
Both my deere had issues with the cast alum rearend and plastic parts constantly breaking. I have never had an issue with my mahindra.

There are problems with all tractors these days. Be willing to learn how to work on them.

All their low hp stuff comes out of South Korea, the mid Hp stuff India with a little over lap, the low hp 100 hp stuff and up is made by Case in Turkey while all the specialty low profile, narrow stuff and whatnot is made by Same/Duetz Fahr in Europe.
@@horseblinderson4747 Well, thats a very wrong kind of mindset you have there. It doesnt matter who makes it but who OKs it to be sold in the market. JD has its quality control over all these places however JD itself isnt the best brand out there. Nothing can trump Claas when it comes to farm equipment quality and nothing can trump New Holland when it comes to versatility.
Easy fix is get rid of the Banjo bolts and put regular fitting with a hose and clamp wont have that problem ever again
Hose clamp pliers would have addressed the fuel draining issue.
ChuckE2009 another youtuber had the tractor and the same problems his buddy Stephen cox(on youtube as well)fixed it some what after chuck tried calling the dealer and the tractor company itself them both gave him the run around til mihinda seen the video then they got on their horse
love my max26xl. way better than my friends B series orange one. no issues at all at 220hrs.
Have a Max26xl and 160 hours, but no problems so far. A work horse for it's size. Only big complaint, backhoe hydraulics have no B...., had a ripper made for it and the bucket teeth are as good as the ripper tooth. No power. Is there some adjustment for the output on the pump?
Seems like a fair assessment of the tractor. The manufacturer used some low cost items to keep the price down. Like the man said,” pay me now or pay me later”, either way you got to pay.
Quick tip for checking an alternator. When it is charging you can stick a screwdriver to the middle on the back and the charging action creates an electromagnet. Screwdriver drawn to center strongly you got a charge. Very week or not at all and you got a bad alternator.

Thanks for good video. Sorry to hear early problems with fuel lines and charging. Three years, 650 hours without any problems with the 4025 4WD I expect to replace battery in near future.
I put a small solar charger on my mahindra and it really seems to keep the battery up when sitting around a long time....cheaper than replacing batteries. I have them on all my trucks, vans, passenger cars, boats, etc. they seem to work so well, especially if you get a lot of sunshine.
We had similar problems and more with our 6110 shuttle cab. Mahindra never solved the heat sensor issue. The heating and the a.c. never worked. Then, right at 300 hours in 3 years the clutch failed. Mahindra charged me $5000 to replace the clutch. That was the end of the road for us. As my son says nothing sits like a Mahindra and nothing runs like a Deere. Today we drive 5095M John Deere tractor on the farm.

Isn't it under warranty? Did I miss why you didn't take it back to the dealer and let them fix everything while it is under warranty? This does two things...adds data to the vendor about issues with the tractors and also prevents you from doing the work...I'm sure you can do the work and do it better than the dealer but that isn't the point. I do think certain models are problems but I feel that way with all brands. I’ve had a 5145 mahindra for a cpl years, have had zero issues “knock on wood” and I’m not easy on it.
Those fuel lines are just like BMW hydraulic lines for power steering. The crimp connections loose tension. They can be repaired without removing the lines by using a quality German worm clamp over them and retension the fuel lines (or hydraulic lines for that matter). Very common practice to fix these crimp clamps. Not a failing of Mahindra just a poor industry practice...
I think Mahindra also had a problem with premature degradation of the rubber in the fuel line as well.
I own a 2014 4025 4WD Mahindra, only issue was lugnuts came loose on front right wheel, have 200 hours of fairly aggressive use (snowblowing and loader work) have been very happy so far. Nearest dealer though is 2 hours away...fingers crossed!
It's been paid off for 3 years now, only paid a little over 20K so not a huge investment. Would I buy another? Probably not since no nearby dealers. Since I purchased there's a new Kioti dealer 10 minutes away. Kind of live in middle of nowhere here in the U.P.
Even after watching all these videos I still made the decision to purchase a Mahindra 2538 with front End loader and Backhoe. I have 80 hours on it now and no major issues maybe I’m lucky or maybe I haven’t hit 130 break down hour yet. I try to keep a eye on the issues you have to see if they will be an issue with mine. What I hate is they don’t even put a full size battery on the tractors anymore. The dealer even showed me this before selling. He hates is as much as the buyer does. They install a 40 buck lawnmower battery on it knowing it might not even last a year.

Had hydraulic lines vibrate loose, I did a full fluid and filter replacement last month- found shavings in both oil and hydraulic. Took a picture and shavings to dealer they said it was “common”.
I’m oddly still using the same original battery. Cleaned the posts regularly,
I would say overall it’s still performing to manufactures specs. When warranty expires I’ll be turning the hydraulics up as I feel they have slightly weakened.
So glad I got a Kubota. BTW I noticed the Texas plates and based on the oak trees I'm guessing you are in central Texas?

I had exactly the same problem with the electrical system on a 5555 and found that the charge wire from alternator was not hooked up to the battery at all. Why did they wire it that way? My temp guage barely works too. Love to know the fix becasue mine only moves about 1/9 inch off the stop. I have 2 Fords a 90's model 3930 and a 70's model 4000 and they are much superior to the Mahindra in build quality.

The Angry Fish Guy I bought a 5075 John Deere. (75 hp) It’s made in India. I had to replace the fuel lines and the battery at 1 year 150 hours . Are the John Deere’s made by Mahindra? Serious question. A lot of the Deere parts seems similar . I won’t by a Deere again. The axles are Chinese ( Wuxi Jinmao axles on mine ). The rest is India components assembled in India . If you think John Deere uses American components and assembly on utility tractors, they don’t . The hoses are India , batteries India , all the small stuff went to junk. The Chinese parts actually seem pretty decent. Hard to believe it’s cheaper to assemble tractors in India and ship to USA but that is the reality. What’s a good option for a utility tractor these days ? Case IH only makes their huge tractors in the USA as well. And Case isn’t an American company anymore either . It’s owned by Fiat group. Hard to believe we can’t do tractors......

Closest you can get in a tiny to mid sized tractor you can get that isn't cobbled together by multinational conglomerates re-badged and re-branded is Kubota, they own, engineer, build, market all their own stuff they do source some engines mostly on their big stuff that they don't have licked yet.

I got a 2013 4025 4 wheel drive. I have to replace my fuel line and now I have 2 that are leaking, replace the battery this spring, and now I got to replace the tie rods.None of my stuff is under warranty. I love my tractor however it is aggravating. Tie Rods are 125.00 each plus shipping.

I believe it's ease of operation myself. Some tractors have easy to get at grease fittings. Quick access to battery and an option to move forward or backwards while out of machine.

My Mahindra 6500 had exactly the same 2 fuel lines leak. I just used regular fuel line and gear clamps instead of those braided lines with crimps. Too much hassle to replace them again.
Indian guys should not get sentimental over mahindra .if the tractor is giving problems then thats how it is .this is the experience here in this video .

Don't know if somebody already told you this, but the banjo bolt is named after the banjo fitting that it is used with. That circle on the end of a tube looks suspiciously like a banjo, and the same name is used by some to refer to heim joints for the same reason. I've never worked on a Mahindra. I'm not on the farm any more, but we had John Deere and Kubota. Both pretty good, but both brands had things going on with them that made you wonder what the designer was thinking. Maybe not as many things as that Mahindra.

I hate to say it but, John Deere cuts a lot of corners today as well. They still run good though. Think we will skip messing with a Mahindra however, perhaps a Cub/Yanmar or a New Holland. Might just get another Massy

right, they ALL can and do break down. You'd better have a good owners manual and shop manual nowadays for any of this high tech equipment and be willing to work on it yourself or you're going to be sitting around bitching instead of getting work done.

There is definitely a market for a better made utility tractor. I’d pay more for a durable tractor. Too bad bobcat doesn’t get into the utility tractor game in a serious way. The product that Deere , Mahindra, and Case IH put out in the utility size is foreign import garbage. I renamed my JD 5075 to Johnny Mahindra. Last JD I will buy. .

why were there vice grips hooked to the battery post already when you pulled the panel off to access the battery ?
+patrick evans On the day before filming the tractor would not start so Homer removed the battery. The bolt broke.(Me talking about cheap hardware in the vid refers to this) The farm is 39 miles from the hardware store so he charged the battery and used vice grips to clamp the battery. We replaced the bolt. Hope this helps Patrick.

Well from my experience on my tractor if you keep your coolant and oil monitored, engine will reach a temperature from where it wont change whatever you do.

Banjo Bolt - The bolt itself is not really where the name banjo comes from. It's the connector that's the banjo. If you look at it, the end kinda looks like a banjo with the round bottom and the neck of the fuel line. Also, I have a Mahindra tier 3 and it's awesome. Sure there are a handful of cheap things on there that are definitely annoying, but with a bit of mechanical imagination, a handy mechanic can work around most of these things. The only bad thing that happened to mine was that from leaving it outside in the winter, condensation built up in the hydraulic filter, froze, and while snowblowing... the filter exploded spraying fluid all over my driveway. I keep the tractor inside the garage in the winter now and haven't had that problem since.
Great video! Also thank for the shot of the busted knuckle! Made my day... I was beginning to think nobody dinged themselves! Apparently Mahindra has a myriad of problems. Not sure whether it an engineering problem, corporate, maybe both or even warranty work.. I do know if it's corporate, it's get the product out and we'll (try?) to fix it later. Seems to me a real fix for your temp problem would be to use an old fashioned wet bulb temp gauge. But I'm sure that their electronic unit sends info to the computer to add insult to injury...
Mahindra does not have a long history of engineering experience. They became big on the tractors that they made by buying the manufacturing blueprints from international. Mahindra is making tractors since 1963 but most of the time it was selling low cost old model knok-offs of international. They have started engineering their own tractors may be 20 years or so which isnt a long time considering other companies experience. Their largest customer base is in India and the reason being they sell a tractor which essentially is a pulling machine on 4 wheels. There are no new tech on it, no innovations, no good service(In India people hardly care about dealership proving any service because owners will take their tractor to local mechanics and get them fixed(most owners dont or cant fix their own equipment). So if you want to buy a tractor go with a company which has lots of experience about not just making more machine but engineering more machines because they will know what serves customers better. I have New holland and there is place below the dash which I broke last summer as i was discing hard ploughed land, I asked my dealer for replacement and turns out the company has already change from plastic to metal because of this issue and that is what I call engineering. There was steering oil heating problem and they added radiator for that.

I've got a 4500. Had to replace the clutch, fuel lines and alternator twice in a little over 400 hours. That's absurd. I had a a 1965 Ford 4000 that I put through some heavy use for about 500 hours. No problems.
Fuel lines and an alternator doesn't go bad unless they're cheap or inferior parts. Two months in a dealer is outrageous to correct those problems. You buy a tractor to do a job not sit in a garage or a service lot. If you can't fix them don't sell them.
I bought a 97 kubota L series tractor. It is only 32 hp. It had 400 hrs on it. I have changed hoses and belts on it . I am happy with it. I pull s plow , disc and bushhog with it. It probably is too small to make hay.

This video made me question the quality of the "number one selling tractor in the world" after more research I decided to go with the Orange one. Thank you for an honest review! I don't think any brand is perfect but I feel like some brands give better support if you have issues. Also feel like some brands are more prone to the same issues. Thanks again, love the videos!

i have a mehindra tractor 5525 with 600 hours on it yes 600 and i am on my third fuel injector pump and and mehindra wont help us out it cost 2000.00 dollars to have it rebuilt. and now we put the pump on and all the fuel lines blew. we have had a new dash put in new seat. replaced spindles on each side 3 times. i will never recommend them . the first time the pump went was 140 hrs and they took tractor and had it 5 mos. before it got fixed. so now i have a 30,000 dollars tractor that is always broken.

I noticed the vise grips on the battery terminal which you didn't completely edit out. I don't know why it was there but I'm pretty sure someone thought it would fix something. More than likely someone left the lights on, the battery ran down, and about then someone decided to jump start the tractor and reverse the jumper cables which shorted out one of the diodes in the alternator. If that is what happened then it would have happened on a John Deere as well.
This isn't the first video I've seen where the customer had difficulty and the dealer wasn't good to deal with. That's an issue for sure and I would recommend that people find out how the potential dealer is to deal with after the sale.

The day before this homer removed the battery to have it tested and charged and the cheap bolt broke lost its threads while being tightened . The vicegrips were a quick farm fix untill he could make it back to town. Hope that helps. Thanks brother.
Cut the strainer off. They stop up and you will have to in the end. You don't need them anyway. You fuel filter will catch anything in the fuel.
This is the second video that complains about a Mahindra temp gauge not working AND the dealer does not know how to fix it.

My grandfather did the same thing on our Poppin Johnny as his dad. Funny part was I tried to tell him just before he hit the start but he never let me finish what I was trying to say. I got a lecture how he had been driving tractors before I was born and didn't need me to tell him how to start it, he got a tin can shooting 20' in the air and hitting him square on the head.

You are working under that loader unsupported. Most of the time you can drop them down without the machine running.

The electrical systems on these new small foreign built tractors, reminds me of a 1960's British sports car. I had a 30HP tractor made in China, it ran OK when you could get it started. unfortunately theres nothing out there any better.
your problem is the ground coming from the battery where it bolts on side. That is what your problem is on this tractor. Tighten it up and let battery charge and your good. Thanks

From what I am seeing is every company has "cut corners" when they make tractors. John Deere has put more plastic on their tractors, Kubota has as well and done other things to make more money. When most farmers/ranchers can't afford a full/good tractor this is what you get.
you hit the nail on the head!!! Most stuff made in the last 5 or 10 years isn't no where what it used to be. It's all about the profits for the share holders. We need more co-ops and employeed owned OEM's
My neighbors Deer is a little over a year old and the Hydraulic hoses are leaking. Every tractor made today is loaded with Korean, Chinese, Indian and/or Mexico parts. The Korean TYM tractor corporation owns Rural King, New Holland, LS, Branson and I think one other tractor company. They also own several companies that make hoses, fuel lines and electrical parts manufacturers. One guy has the same tractor and the fuel lines and alternator is ok but the fuel rail is shot and then some other guy has problems with the wire to the stater from the ignition switch on a different Mahindra. We are shopping for a tractor and as I have seen videos of people hating on every make and model tractor, I am focusing on if it is something minor or major.
When we purchased laptops, we had HP that the CD Drive failed on it and it turns out that is a common issue with HP laptops of that model, so we switched to the Lenovo and those in less than two years, the hinges seized up and the back of the screen and main case shattered. All four of them and upon researching, that was their issue. They offered to sell us new hinges... the same hinges that fail in about two years. We went to the new HP Omen because we can easily put on an external blue-ray drive. Those Lenovo still work like new after 6 years but they are literally epoxied back together.
Knowing all I know about the Mahindra weaknesses, I would still buy one with the old manual shift system. To me it is the ability to get parts long term and add on what I want as I need it. The TYM dealer told us that if we do not buy the mower deck with the tractor, we can not order a mower deck later. Now this is only with the mower deck, not the tillers, rotary cutter or box blade. I still found that strange that the mower deck is not available if you do not get it with the tractor new. I asked about if it fails and you need a new one under warranty and they said they could get one in that case but they can not sell the mower decks to anyone(TYM forbids it). This sounds like a gimmick to sell more mower decks with new tractors. This is what sent me looking at Mahindra. Until we figure out what to buy new, we are talking about buying an old 9N or 8N Ford to use for making our driveway and 100 X 100 foot yard.

Ive done less work on my 1968 Case backhoe with 5670 hours on the gas engine. And the parts are cheaper and the local auto parts store will order them for me... so i like shiny but reliable means more to me.
I'd take a 8n ford or ferguson any day. I was lookin at a mahindra tractor the other day but after all them problems your havin with a almost new tractor with low hours then I don't think I want one. it makes me wonder what kinda problems I'd have with it after a few years with a lot more hours

This model seems to have some electrical issues for some reason. A one year old tractor should not have fuel lines leaking and battery charging issues.
So far I've owned a New Holland Workmaster 50 going on a year with zero issues Actually I did have to tighten the lower radiator hose. That's it. New Holland uses the same emissions technology on their Workmaster series with a catalytic converter. My dealer sells Mahindra and Kubota along with New Holland. The Workmaster is made in India.
I've lived on the farm my whole life. My dad was a salesman in the day. Sold Allis Chalmers. Also sold New Holland hay equipment.
All tractors and equipment will fail. Dealer and part support is paramount. Two months and I would have been livid.
