Pigeon Flat trout fishing, middle fork of Stanislaus river, my most favorite trout fishing spot

  • Located in the middle fork of Stanislaus river of Emigrant Wilderness, Stanislaus National Forest, California, this is my most favorite spot for trout fishing, or just sightseeing.

    i used to fish that area and and some of the other rivers and creeks in the sierras back in the 70's when i was in the air force out in california, i miss it.

    i wonder if that net would be an interesting tool to use if you wanted to avoid dragging the fish onto the mud and banging it into the rocks?

      @@mkwy8782 what I’m saying is that it’s better to catch and release the fish than to catch and kill the fish from an animal cruelty standpoint

      yes, it is on ca 108, has a paved parking.

      @@alisonhurtado1094 Yes. It is gated. You cannot drive your car to the campground. Park outside, carry your stuff in. Walk a few hundred feet to the campground from the parking lot.

    No wonder catching a great size fish is hard to come by, because they were taken home and eaten. As opposed to releasing him back into the water to continue to ferlize his genes back into the river where big trout live so you or someone else can catch them again.
    That’s why one can catch a limit of pan size. I can understand this, at least. Just saying…..

      On California Highway 108, 24 miles east of Pinecrest, or just a few miles west of Kennedy meadow.
