Is it goood to spray silicone on the cable lines and pully wheels for protection. My total gym is on the porch. Covered but still a lot of humitity and whatever else.
After a day of surfing at sunset cliffs the house on the corner were i parked provided water for surfer to rinse off. Wile putting my board away this guy who lived in the house ask for my opinion of his recently created work out equipment ?Awesome was my comment Today 1/11 22 I see Chuck Norris using it Wow what a great day of memories .
I think on the top tier it's approximately 60 to 65 percent of your body weight. Similar to a the weight of your body doing pushups. I currently have been using the total gym fit for 6 year's, love it, quit going to the gym altogether. You can add a weight bar to the bottom for additional weight. But now use it in the middle settings at 30 to 60 reps per exercise for endurance training, really helps out with my martial arts. Hope that answer's your question, good luck with your training.!
That commercial one should not cost more than $600 because it may have a stronger frame but it has no weights involved. it's just a bench and pole with holes in it to adjust height. I'm sure to manufacture this is very inexpensive. There are no heavy weights to deal with so there's no cost to the manufacturer for weights. The cost of a bench even the best quality bench is maybe $250. I would not pay more than $600 for this unit commercial grade. Anybody who spends more money on it it's just being duped. If your going to spend that kind of money I would personally buy Valdur (not sure of the spelling) for $670. Not the Walmart one going for $250 but the other one for $670. I believe its on Amazon.
I bought an earlier home model of the Total Gym over 20 years ago--in 1999. I spent between $800-$900 at the time, which would be equivalent to $1,400.00 today. It was worth every penny. I still have it and it remains sturdy and functional. For the record, it does exactly what it is advertised to do...if you put in the work. For those who say free weights are much cheaper, well...yes, they are. But the Total Gym was designed to be a rehab device as much as a weight exercise machine, and the glideboard provides support that removes most of the potential danger for injury that exists with free weights. It is a compact multi-station that allows the user to exercise every part the body. The commercial model will be necessarily be more expensive than home models, (though individuals can purchase the commercial models), as it must serve countless people daily, weekly, monthly, etc. It must endure much greater usage wear over time than a home model. As for price markup over cost of construction and materials...don't you think this is true of virtually every product we buy?
The total gym is the best machine invented. I love it.
I bought mine in 1997 and still have it.....but I just bought the total gym fit ultimate with pilates, it is amazing.

You can add 600 lbs of weight to this model... Maybe do more research. It doesn't need a bar, it uses bands.
You think it should cost what it costs to produce? That's not how capitalism works
