The pain and anguish this theme brings to pirates fans is unbreable some days. But it reminds me when we still had hope for our Battling Bucs. I was just a kid...i never knew we wouldn't ever get back. 90...91...92 .. RIP Pittsburgh Pirates, October 14th 1992.
Sid Bream slides into home he’s safe Braves win ! Braves win ! And then we lost the World Series again for the second year in a row smh 🤦🏾♂️ long sigh !
Listening to this theme brings back so many memories of my childhood! The 91 World Series between the Braves and the Twins will go down as one of the greatest World Series in the History of Baseball!
I was in elementary school when this theme was on TV. It is a good theme. I remember the late Jack Buck saying We will see you tomorrow night after the late Kirby Puckett hit the game-winning home run in Game 6 of the 1991 World Series at the Homer Dome in Minneapolis.
Every time I hear this baseball theme reminds me of watching WS games in the couch with my pops in the early 90s as a kid. Man great memories. Miss you dad.
@@wmw3629 I like Fox's NFL "militaristic crap"... ...for the NFL. Their previous baseball theme was considerably better, but this theme is far superior to them both. It just sounds like... baseball.
The NFL on CBS intro from 1993 was great, too! Fox definitely took inspiration from it. They brought back the theme when CBS got it back, before they changed once again, but I would argue the ’90s one was better. That 7th chord at 0:08… 😘 they totally ignored that chord years later. ruclips.net/video/hPbMj5aW3AY/видео.html
"Well folks, Game 7 of this incredible, unbelievable 1991 World Series will sadly come to an end here tonight in The Triple H TwinkieDome in Minneapolis.........and it will be the Braves or The Homer Hanky Twinkies that win the World Title"
Even though MLB on CBS wasn't the best and that I'm too young to remember it (born in 89), but this theme song was epic and easily on my top 5 CBS sports themes ever.
If CBS had MLB again, it would have to be a financially reasonable broadcast deal, not the outrageous deal from back in 1990. I could picture Kevin Harlan and Al Hrabosky calling such games like Red Sox vs. Indians, Yankees vs. Twins, Astros vs. Rangers, Tigers vs. Rays, Angels vs. Orioles, etc. and other announce teams could be Ian Eagle-Frank Thomas, Michael Kay-Ned Yost, Spiro Dedes-Keith Hernandez or Greg Gumbel-Steve Stone. That would've been something to see!!!
Fox Sports has the television rights for regular season games on both the main Fox broadcast network and FS1 until 2028. After that, would CBS want to get MLB back again? I can't see Harlan doing baseball, as good as he is and there's a lot on his plate with the NFL as well. Gumbel would be 82 in 2028, so I can't see him having Baseball on his plate at that age after getting out of the booth for the NFL. Spiro I can see be the lead voice on MLB on CBS (if they got it back). Getting Kay to bolt from ESPN would be tough, but doable, but he also is the lead broadcaster for YES (New York).
Actually MLB in 2017 is making more money than at any time in its history. I admit I also loved MLB more in the pre strike 1994 era myself. The lowly Miami Marlins will be sold to new owners for at least $1 Billion dollars. And the bright spot for MLB there some new stars on rise in league with now extensive PED testing. And Donald Fehr and Bud Selig whom I both blame more than anyone for nearly ruining MLB are both gone. Not only with the strike but also their roles in the PED scandals in the late '90's and early 2000's. Every major sports league is no better now, it's only about $$$ whether it's MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, FIFA etc.

I don't get why CBS doesn't try to have a contract share with Turner like they do with the NCAA March Madness. I'm sure they could do a better job now than they did back then, and they have the better announcers now (both MLB and NHL, and I don't get why they didn't try to get some of the NHL rights, either).
Unfortunately as a Braves fan, the theme music keeps reminding me of Jack Buck's along with Kirby F-ing Puckett's and we will see you tomorrow night. I was only 6 years old, but it sucks to keep seeing that stupid highlight.
Back to my middle school years where I lived and breathed MLB. Unfortunately those innocent memories are tainted with business and political opinions invading the game I love!
"And we will see you.........TOMORROW NIGHT!"
1990-1993 WS champions Reds,Twins & Jays (twice) this is my favorite opening in sports
This is the 90s Atlanta braves theme

I was pulling for you guys with those great teams you have and get by the dreaded Braves

Yes!
I always think of the 91 series when I hear this.
Best Baseball theme ever
No doubt about it. I wish CBS still did the World Series.
Reminds me of those back to back Blue Jays teams. What a way to end that 93 series walk off style
By far Bro I was like 7 y/o back then My favorite intro too

Yeah that was that real 1991 world series braves vs twins
No joke….the 91 World Series was in my opinion one of the best ever played….and I’m a Braves fan.

I wish I knew what the name of this theme music was.
I wish CBS would bring back MLB and NBA some of the best music and coverage
Fox sucks. CBS so much better. Now Fox continues to use the NFL militaristic crap!

CBS Game of the Week with Jack Buck and Tim McCarver.
Also, Dick Stockton and Jim Kaat!!!
I get chills hearing this. Staying up watching the playoffs & world series with granny before school the next morning!

The First time I heard this, 1990.. When Eric Davis and the Reds went wire to wire and swept the mighty Oakland Athletics in the World Series...
Moe Scott great memories
The intro had images of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Roberto Clemente and other legends

My first thoughts are the Pirates and Braves when Francisco Cabrera knocked in Sid Brem to beat Barry Bonds in his last game as a Pittsburgh Pirates.
Philly Born and Raised 4 for 4 and then the start of the pirates 20 year losing streak.
"BRAVES WIN BRAVES WIN BRAVES WIN BRAVES WIN BRAVES WIN BRAVES WIN
Still remember sneaking downstairs at 12 watching the end of that game. One of the best endings in post season
Nothing sweeter then Alomar taking Eckersley and parking him and the ball in the right field stands to tie the game in the 1992 ALCS!!!!
Fox should find a way to bring back this music one of the best baseball themes ever
This theme is #2 in my childhood sports memories right behind NBA on NBC

Hello, I’m pat O’Brien. Welcome to our continuing coverage of the NLCS
Hi Pat 😊
Braves fan good memories even though they lost alot it was always exciting and they still owned the pirates.
is a shame CBS whould had MLB for a long time!
This what made me start to like baseball this theme
not quite as good as NBC's World Series theme from 1986 and 88, but still very memorable.
1991 Twins!

This song is the only thing positive about cbs' baseball coverage
Ahh, back in the day. I loved baseball so much better in the pre-strike era, before it became a diluted shell of it's former self.
