    If you are trying to guesstimate if a wheel & tire combo will fit without a lift, take the difference in height and divide by 2. If your tires are the standard factory issue 18 inch and your new ones will be 20.5, the 2 inch difference will result in 1 1/4” more intrusion into the wheel well and 1 1/4” more in ride height. Take a piece of lumber or a pocket book of the same thickness and use it as a feeler gauge to make sure everything is clear, turning the wheels hard left and right with a normal load in the cart (especially important if you have a rear-facing seat which exerts more pressure on your suspension.) Keep in mind your new tires will probably sit 1” or so wider than the factory ones, due to aftermarket wheel offset. Keep in mind: the higher the lift, the more squirrelly the handling may be; the lower the profile of the tire, the more firm the ride.

    Great video! I have a question on the wheel hubs themselves. Are they all the same when it comes to the bearing hole size? In other words... is the spindle typically the same diameter on all golf carts? I ask this because I have seen replacement bearings measuring 1” inside diameter. I searched everywhere for this information but to no avail, wondering if it would be a good subject for a video. I would sure appreciate the information on this. Thank you!

    Great video, but would have loved to see what the 215/50- 12” looks like before ordering a set.

    I have 18.5 inch tires but when I measure them I'm getting around only 17 inches height...didn't check air pressure yet but I thought they were up at 20 psi....could they wear down over time or is the air pressure low the only cause?

    What about a from 1 wheel wonder that the frame keeps getting stuck in gravel/grass and so forth we finally have a beautiful 3 acre place for the kids and this big kid to play but now cant.:( i figured there must be some larger tire but no avail
    .... it is split rim 4 bolt and 1 center hole style
    In order to not get stuck 16 or larger in the front are needed

      I have a 1993 club car ds, 6" sgc a arm lift, HD rear springs 12" with 20" tires 1" wheel spacers. I am going to go to 23" tires 1 for ride quality. I am also going to use a ITP UTV tire because of the rounded shoulder. I think with the offset wheel and a rounded tore you should be able to fit 25" tires. If it does rub Jake's makes a wheelbase extender ( pushes front axles forward) this will give you a few more inches.

    Theres the boss!! Welcome back! Hey would you know of where I could purchase a "Jakes" shifter for a G9?

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  5 лет назад

      Thank you! It's good to be back!! Unfortunately the Yamaha G9 and the way it's made, mounting a Jakes Shifter would be difficult. The body (polypropylene body) and the metal frame behind the forward and reverse switch are at different angles and might make the golf cart look funny. But, with a little fabrication, anything can be done!

      @@golfcartking i watched a video jakes has up of a G-14 install, and it looks identical from what I see. If you have the time, Help me understand how much mods would have to be done. Im not sure what you mean about the angle
      EDIT: now that I think about it, there is a molded indentation around my shifter/key area. Is that what you're talking about?

      @@TKO-NY You got it! The shifter may sit offset.

    I’ve got 14” wheels on my EZGO Rxv, no problem what so ever, actually thinking about going with 15” wheels. This video is far too conservative.
