This earthquake is sadly climbing the ranks of the deadliest earthquakes of the 21st century. At 33,000 deaths, it's about equal to an earthquake in Iran in 2003. China had an earthquake in 2008 that killed 87,000. This Turkey/Syria earthquake sadly might get close to that.

Half the city got leveled. We're talking buildings 5 and 6 plus stories tall full of people reduced to piles of rubble. Theyre going to be finding bodies for a good while.
Probably not months. Whole communities of people got wiped out. I wouldn't be surprised if end estimates were up to 70k by the end of this month.

I am having trouble processing the numbers as well.I can't imagine what those people are going through.
Imagine that moment. In the deepest hours of sleep, the house, furniture and the bed you sleep in begin to shake. All glassware is starting to break. After the building collapses. tons of weight on you... many of my friends were affected by this earthquake. 35 thousand people died... Everyone is very sad. for context: 3630 people die in Syria+Turkey every day on average. so in any given week you'd expect around ~25,000 deaths. so the deaths this week were about 30% or 8,000 above average.

The whole point of Jonah was to bring the message about God and His coming judgement to Nineveh, a city of gentiles, and when they received it, they repented. God had compassion on them because they changed their ways and He did not destroy them (check out Jonah 3). As for Jesus, while He certainly came to save the Jews, He also came for the gentiles (check out Galations 3:28, Romans 10:12, Romans 3:29, Acts 28:28, etc.) And for evidence regarding Jesus' deity, there is plenty: being called Son of God (literally means of equal and identical nature to God, not actually referring to being offspring of God), being called Son of Man (reference to Daniel 7), using "I AM" title, being called the Alpha and Omega, holding man divine attributes (omniscience, omnipresence, immutability, etc.), and the list goes on.

That's what it appears to be. Not a good idea to build in a earthquake zone at all. This has happened before in this area. You cannot count on it just going away.
It was a 7.8 magnitude quake that's an insane amount of power. They cant spend money they dont have. People gotta live somewhere.

It would be more cost effective for me to buy 100 ferraris in bulk and start a dealership and then buy my own with the profits but that doesnt mean I suddenly magically have the money to go buy em.
