Even though it's been 7 yrs your video hasn't aged. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you found the review useful.
Good info in 2019!!
Hi..Great review, just a question..how do these line up against conventional Par 64's? I am seeking to replace my ageing incandescent 64's and wonder if these LED Chauvets throw out a good stage flood (medium sized band use, venues for say 200-300 punters)
Great review man! You covered all I wanted to see
I have 4 of these lights and they seem great. I also have 2 american DJ Par Can 64 LED lights. The two american DJ lights dont seem to work right with my dmx box when connected with these Chauvet lights. Any ideas why they wont cooperate? I have them on different dmx channels and they are set up properly.
Thank..now i am sure to buy it! God bless.
did you buy this 7 years ago?
saxier1, I use 8 par 38's. 4x of which are incandescent and 4 of which are LED. the LED ones are very bright, but nowhere near the coverage of the regular ones. if you are using spotlight in your pars, then it will be about the same. I imagine the par 64's are the same. the beam from the slimpar is pretty defined.
assign the slim par and mega par profile their channels. then you press the button that you assigned that light to. Then you use the faders to use the light.
You are an expert in these type of lights. I was wondering if you can help me finding a product with the following features:
I am looking for 5 lights that hang from the ceiling (they are not together, but separate fixtures). The ceiling where they will go has ceiling tiles. The features I am looking for are the following ones:
I want them to hang about 6-8 ft from the ceiling
The beam has to be about 8 inches (diameter of circumference)
The shape of the fixture does not matter.
The power for the fixture will be coming from hard wired like a ceiling fixture.
The weight I would preferably like something about 5 pounds.
Also, for it to have about 1 inch of movement up and down or laterally.
I would like them to be controlled, each with a foot switch.
LED is better
White color beam
Please let me know if you have this type of product.
Thank you very much for your attention,
Great review.
Our old traditional spot lights are wearing out. Do you think this unit could be used as basic spots for our church stage? Is there a chance they are compatible with old lighter / slider lighter control systems? Thanks much!
How do you make it do all the really neat things through 7 Channel DMX?
What settings does it need to be on?
Thank you!
You could use it in the lighting outside the home, so put lighting in front of the tree? I mean, the atmosphere bears external conditions such as rain or sun or heat, etc.? Also you can install lighting for only one color? Thanks
I have a couple questions.... How much do these retail for? and how many can a obey 3 handle on one console? I am considering starting a ambient lighting business in my area... Thanks.
so those can also go to the music then as well it was never shown in you video so just let me know thanks
you posted this over a year ago, how are they holding up? do you still like them? is there anything else you would recommend instead? any other thoughts after a year?
great review do you know if the outdoor version is just as good
Would you happen to know how to sync these to a bands set list ? I think it's some type of software
Thanks :)
im so lost right now i'm new to this dmx thing and i have chauvet slimpar 64 and adj mega par profile. i have the obey 10 and i just cannot get it to work. can someone please help
what is the difference between par 56 and par 64?
could anyone tell me if i could use 6 of these on stage to replace the old par cans I'm thinking about the brightness

can you use this as a downlight?
how do you put one color specific?
Could these work with the RGBW4C?

Does the light come with a power cable or do I have to but one separately.
