Making games is super fun!
I am a bad learner, usually just skipping forward on a lot of videos because I find them uninteresting despite them trying to help me learn. However, I haven’t done that a single time in this series. Your enthusiasm and quick but very understandable explaining make this a blast to watch while learning a great amount at the same time. You’re an excellent teacher, never change.

The number one issue with tutorials is always the droll, boring voice. It's a dead giveaway that the person involved has no passion for what they do and are only interested in the profit. This is a man that loves EVERYTHING about what he does, and we by proxy, believe and invest in what he has to say!

If you want to make touch screen controls, you can create two big buttons, place them on either side of the screen in your level, make then transparent and remove the text, Now, create a function that applies the sideways force to the player when the buttons are clicked, and since buttons are phone friendly, you have a game that works on any touchscreen device!

I know that it's 3 years already and you're no longer on youtube, but I just wanted to thank you so much, I finally picked up Unity after at least 4 years of waiting to get a new computer and finally I'm starting game deving. I was a huge fan (and I still am) of your youtube channel and the content on it for 6 (or even more) years, your videos are super helpful and so straight to the point that it's almost impossible (with motivation of course) to get lost. Again, thanks for all sweat and tears you've put in making this channel, you inspire lots and lots of people even to this day and I hope that whatever happens you will always remember your help to all the programming community!
There's not a lot of tutorials that still being needful after 7 years since publishing, but this is an absolutely best begginer-friendly tutorial on RUclips in 2024! Thanks Brackeys)
I gotta say, I work pretty much full-time in retail with an ever changing schedule. Your bite sized tutorials are perfectly paced and just what I needed! This is the first game I've finished! Thank you!
Finally created my 1st game, your tutorials are awesome and beginner friendly . This is my first time using unity and I would have struggled with the interface and all without theses tutorials. Thank you very much!
I love the way that you acknowledge that the way you are doing something in these beginner videos maybe isn't the best way, but is a simple way to implement it, and briefly mention what more complex solutions that work better would look like. It keeps everyone watching both humbled to what they are learning (the basics to grasp concepts) and also excited and curious to learn more, perhaps on their own time reading necessary documentation and experimenting.
Thank you Brackeys for these amazing, short, easy to understand, and professionally done videos. These tutorials are concise, focus on a few key concepts, and allow you to build the core features of a game from start to finish in
If anybody is stuck and found this hard Ithen restart this playlist and make this game again.
You'll see how much you;ve learned and how much you've missed.
Definitely worth it!
OLD BUT GOLD! Got me motivated to make my first game, watched every single video of this series till the end.
Several years after you made this series, and it is serving people well. I have just finished creating this starter game - with some additional touches of my own - and I could not be happier with how this played out.
Thank you so much for this series. I will be diving into the vast collection of other videos you have on this channel because I am aiming to create a fully functioning and good-looking game that I can share around with friends and family to show off!
And then maybe a game or two later I can put a price tag on it, hehe.
finaly finished this last portion and I just wanted to say thanks man. Really, thanks a lot. You've helped myself and many others get over the initial hump and difficulty for beginning game development.
we started with 4 million , many had fallen
few just survived ,congratulation to all of you
We did it guys!! And even if you didn't finish, you still finished this tutorial; and knowledge is half the battle! Keep at it, and lets make our dream games come true one day!
Not gonna lie though, the toughest part throughout these tutorials has been the functions. I always get confused on either how to write them properly, and what needs to go where into the functions while dragging and dropping other objects.
A beautiful short series. I love that its self contained and complete. I've watched many tutorials and this was by far the best format. its very much like the for dummies books, very easy to digest and I think that's the most important thing as you make something as DAUNTING as creating a game seem manageable. expanding a series of 5 minute videos into a real game seems like a dream, thank you very much.
I just finished this serie and completed my first game ever. I've made a lot of projects on Unreal Engine, but never actually close one. Thank you very much. This is your legacy!
please make more of these simple tutorials and btw i made a game from your tuts and im just polishing it
Just finished! Feels so rewarding in the end to accomplish something i've wanted to start learning as a kid but never started until my mid 20s. Better late than never!
How is it going?
Thanks dude this is definetly the best tutorial series ive ever seen. Ive learned loads. Usually I give up on tutorials because the guy skips over loads of steps or are terrible at showing things. You were able to give every instruction so clearly and it helps for people like me who are new to game development. Thank you!
I am happy you have finished all 10 episodes. This is actually the first tutorial I have finished for A - Z. It was really fun building this project with you and I am going to build on to the project and hopefully start on other projects. Def recommend your channel. 10/10

Thank you for this series, I had no idea how to use Unity before this!
I'm soo glad i'm one of the people who started and finished this series... thanks for everything Brackeys!
That was an AWESOME series. I'm a software developer for the past 15 years so it really only took me a couple of hours to complete the whole series (watching you 2x speed, sorry) - I'm SHOCKED by how strong the Unity engine is - can't believe making such a game required virtually 10 lines of code.. added jumps and other features and waiting to go over your other content to see where it puts me - this is AWESOME man.. AWESOME!

I want to pursue a game development career in my life, and these videos methinks has really set a stone i am excited to care for, your tutorials have been really generous and simple to understand even though it’s a language I am not used to (programming wise), and helped me come through the intimidating start to game development, if I do make a successful career out of gaming development, I will have you to thank, so thank you

If your having trouble with the on click part of the quit button not allowing you to select credits as a function as I was create a new game object put the credits script into that and drag the game object into the on click area it should then allow you to select the credits as a function
Thank you so much dude!!!!!!! love to u :-D
I was having the same problem. Your solution seems to work fine but you can also just drag the CreditsPanel object (already referencing the Credits script) into the box and it will do the trick. Brackeys does this in the video at 5:00 but it's really quick.

Hey Brackeys! Thank you so much for making these videos! The idea of coding and programing has always scared me, but the idea of creating games has always been in the back of my mind. @@_.emberrr Just a heads up, Visual Studio tells you if you are trying to use something you don't have a using for - for example, if you write SceneManager without having a using-Statement for UnityEngine.SceneManagement, you can right-click "SceneManager", click on "Quick actions and refactorings" and have VS auto-generate the using for you.
