    I think you're a winger. This camera is amazing even today with it's limitations it takes amazing images straight out of the box. If you want 60p, 4k and stabilization get a new camera and believe me the 5D mkii holds it's own. All the features in the world don't produce a great image but a skilled photographer and a 5d can do great work.

    Being an enthusiast photog, I bought this legend three years ago mainly for ladscape and street photography purposes. I can certify, its results don't fall behind the modern cameras. Out of curiosity recorded few casual videos too. Not bad at all.
    Even its older brother, the 5D Classic is a darling of mine. Grabbed it four months ago and love it. I'm sure u know why!

    5D Mark II is an amazing camera even today if one knows how to control it, it's all about the driver not the car that moves it properly. I'd invite you to take the photography classes perhaps to better grasp the intrensic workings of the camera rather than relying on the modern automatic easy features that won't be using 80% of the time. If you know how to use the tool then you're golden.

    The 5d series is pretty good. It all depends on what you are using it for. For everyday photos, it’s good to carry around. Even for some professional work, but it all depends on the lens attached to the camera. The 24-105 is/was a decent lens, but a better glass would produce some great results. Even the original 5d pushes out some great pictures, so I see no reason not to hold on or obtain one of these if it’s at a reasonable price with decent or great shutter actuations. Good video

      I completely agree. As long as you keep a level head and know what you want to use it for. The 5D II can perform in your favour. Too bad that good glass for Canon EF is so pricey ;). I favour NIKON in that regard.

      I bought 5DII three years ago for 700/- dollars with a shutter count of 5k. Love it deeply.
      Purchased 5D Classic 4 months ago. Why?

      Even for some professional work? 20 quality megapixels is more than enough for professional work in 2022.

    If u are really a enthusiast that is willing to put in a lot of effort to get the best quality magic lantern is the way to go. It's a firmware hack that is by far not a perfect stable OEM software but it it will give you really crisp results.

      Hi Aceton! Thanks for your comment. I have already gathered some experience with ML on my EOS M. It's a fine hack and sooner or later I'll give my 5D II the same treatment 👍

      It should because anyone still using a 5d2 for videography is almost definitely using magic lantern to shoot in raw

    I'm considering getting this camera as B camera for videos and for business portraits. Will it be worth it?

    • @quirkycams4965
      @quirkycams4965  2 года назад +1

      It really depends. I'd tend to say "Yes, it will". Especially for portrait that one can deliver very pleasing results (Canon colours...yada yada). With a 80mm or 100mm prime this would be no problem, I think. If you want to use it for filming I'd try it out first. The question is if your main camera's image quality isn't too good in contrast when you try to mix some 5D footage in there.

    • @iamdaneke
      @iamdaneke 2 года назад +1

      @@quirkycams4965 Thank you.
      My main camera is Canon 80D, and both are capable of 1080p so I do hope the footages will be close enough. I will only use 5D for videos when I shoot interviews, to get a second angle.
      More over, I do more photos than videos, so I will need the 5D for headshots and lifestyle portraits.
