Listen, we all know the Ruthless Aggression Era was awesome, but when looking back at that time period. Smackdown was a show on a different level. So much nostalgia just looking back at it. Take me back!

Smackdown kicked ass I was more of a Monday night Raw guy but smackdown kicked ass Edge Jeff Hardy Taker Angle Batista Eddie Rey Cena JBL CM Punk Lesnar The Rock made the show damn awesome
@@anesseameer No to metion they had so many versions of Rise Up from the early instrumental to the current/final version of Rise Up. Nostalgia at its very finest.
Talked about smackdown 2002 -2004 the wrestling show
Man, SmackDown during this time was absolute perfection. Ever since its creation, it has been fire! The vibe, the blue color, the amazing stage designs, theme songs, logos and graphics, etc. Not to mention, the rosters were awesome. I was happy to be on Team SmackDown as a kid.
dont for how rhino gore y2j into the oval thing in late 2001 or 2002 me as a kid hoping the sagte would look like the future and it did it look like s 2030 stage to us ruthless aggression kids well im 4 year attitude kid not sure about you but smackdown now in days dont have storylines unless your roman

@@Ok-ik4ww yeah except 05 and 06 maina and 07 maina

Loved Smackdown solely for Jeff’s run in 08-09 and I got so sad when he left. Can’t wait for this run coming up and hopefully feuds with Roman this year
Yep that run was amazing
All my friends at school stopped watching WWE when Jeff Hardy left in 2009

Honestly, 2000’s Smackdown was my childhood. It got me through so much man.
Chilling on the couch and just saw this. Got to say, Overall if it wasn't for Smackdown in that decade I honestly probably wouldn't of or still be a Wrestling fan. 2000-2002 was simply fun for Smackdown as was Raw with it being least serious slightly but still got the focus good.. when the brandsplit occurred in 2002 tho..
Smackdown from 2002-2004 was just Wrestling, and not the technical workrate match mark definition for it but simply what Pro Wrestling really should be, from Lesnar being pushed so strong he went from a heel to face naturally back to a Heel, feuds with Undertaker, Big Show, Main Eventing WM and working with Vince, Vince feud with Hogan to Zack/Stephanie, Smackdown 6, Cena going from generic to Over Babyface and him and Eddie pioneering the Parking lot brawl, Eddie's rise to the top, Torrie Wilson/Dawn Marrie feud, Steph going from simply hated to being a genuine liked Babyface GM, Matt Hardy loosing weight for the Cruiserweight title and Angle and Lesnar having one of the best feuds in that company...
Add to that with 2004-2005 with JBL, Teddy, Rey, Undertaker, Booker, Angle, Cena, and Eddie carrying it through it's transition with 2005-2007 being it's own type of Era I have just as much memories from with Batista being the top guy with Teddy being the most iconic GM on Smackdown or both brands possibly due to longevity, Mr Kennedy, Randy and Taker's Year long feud, Eddie and Rey, Wrestling Machine Angle, Bobby Lashley rising strong, Finaly, MVP, King Booker making that Angle his and gaining the World Title from it, And Undertaker and Batista Having the Feud of 2007 all on the Smackdown brand.
Edge cashing in and bring the Top Heel on the brand with Vickie by his side with Batista, Undertaker and Rey all trying to get him bit always find a way to screw them over, his over Year long feud with Undertaker Main Eventing Wrestlemania and with HHH and Jeff Hardy having his career culmination on the blue Brand, CM Punk and Hardy had their feud of the Year in 2009, Taker, Rey and Heel Batista were full time etc.
The commentaries themselves were just.. really good, Cole and Tazz honestly to me were just as good As King and JR, they both fit their shows perfectly to where I couldn't really see or really hear JR and King saying Lesnar or Angke the way Tazz and Cole did or them saying HHH the way King or JR did they both just fit their shows even Cole and JBL very much from 2006-2007 really.
The Music goes without saying but really the song I'll always always remember and take me back to this whole vibe is honestly "Rise up" by Drowning Pool, just the intro instrumental with the Smackdown graphics flashing takes me back to Thursday and Friday nights and remind me of SVR 06-08 really.
Long winded comment but felt like sharing, great vid bro and really, Smackdown in the 00's especially from 2002-2008 can honestly be the blue print (no pun intended) on how a Wrestling show should be overall.
The combination of matches the smackdown 6 had with each other 🔥
I didn’t realize how lucky I was to get Smackdown as a kid until I was an adult. I couldn’t watch RAW cause of 2 things, 1. I didn’t have cable and 2. Even if I did they would air it at 9pm on a Monday night and my mom wasn’t gonna let that happen cause I had school the next day. The fact that we got top tier ppv matches on regular cable tv was truly a blessin.
My guy is elite at creating nostalgia and bringing me back to this great era of life. 2000s hit different
I have mixed (but mostly positive) views about the Ruthless Aggression Era. My favourite wrestlers- Rock, Foley and Austin were gone. Raw was so-so when Triple H had his reign of terror. But, Smackdown was INCREDIBLE with the Smackdown Six, cruiserweight division, tag team division etc. After 2004 Raw became really good too. The in- ring quality certainly was a highlight and the RA era easily had the best Wrestlemanias.
Smackdown really hit different they were truly 2 different tv shows
2004, 2005, and 2006 were the only years I was a Raw guy over Smackdown. But majority of my childhood I loved Wrestling from Smackdown.
reason able but for it was 2005 2001 because the hardy boyz and dudley boys and all tag teams on raw
Me to l was not a fan of king booka story line
@@nicksera6388 only thing I like about king booker is his theme but looking back from 2021 to 2002 almost 20 years was great but when I was a kid I thought it was ok but didn’t want to see in till 2 weeks after the last
I was a big fan of raw with rated RKO that was good time

Jeff Hardy coming out with a celebration when he won the WWE Title in 2008 my favorite smackdown moment
No cerebral assassins with a golden shovels, it’s simple.
He was on the show from June 2008 to April 2009 by the way
@@wildethang93 yes, but by that point, the reign of terror was long gone
Smackdown was, is, and always will be my A show when it comes to Wrestling. Raw was always trying to hard, but when it came to Smackdown, things were organic. Awesome feuds, storylines, and most importantly, the Smackdown roster just did its thing. That is why Smackdown will always be my favorite WWE brand. Oh, and also it’s because Smackdown is blue. My favorite color.
I feel you so hard with the Jeff Hardy part. I was so sad about it. And we actually had to wait 8 fucking years for him to comeback.😂
only for him to get fired AGAIN
@@CARTERCYCLOPS yup. Pls don’t remind me of it. Still hurts knowing that we probably won’t see him enter the ring with his „no more words“ theme ever again

That background music is perfect for the nostalgia of mid 2000’s Smackdown 😭 simple times
Your page is perfect for people between ages 20-30 so much nostalgia from the ruthless aggression era
even smackdown today is so great, but it simply can’t compare to the 2000s and that’s just a fact.
WWE is dead tbh. Storylines are just so plain and boring tbh
@@RafsGunCollectionits fun again now
I remember being INCREDIBLY hyped for the cage match with Batista and Undertaker thinking Batista won barely during the replays then second guessing it after seeing it over and over. To hear that it was a draw was shocking and everything leading the Edge cash in had me HEATED as a kid but oh man do I love it now.
I remember JBL thinking he was the champion only for Batista to get drafted.
The Randy Orton vs Undertaker rivalry was something else for real
Smh, sweet childhood memories right here man. Imo, the 2000s was the last great decade to grow up in as a young kid.
2002 - 2008 SmackDown was my prime childhood
I’m a simple man. When WrestlinGifs uploads, I watch
Real OGs remember when SD was on Thursdays.
Real ogs remember when Smackdown was a one time special event and not a week to week show
I’d like to see a video on what made the HBK vs Jericho feud from 2008 so good 👀👀
First video of Me and Danny Asking Pav to make a video about feud between Chris Jericho and HBK('S Wife).

The Rock with "Just Bring It" shirt and black training pants interupting match was the best part of Smack Down.
I missed my high school that my whole family went too and i eventually went too and stayed home watching this and playing with my wrestlers as well. A Smackdown kid at heart and I can’t forget about watching Raw on some spanish network cause i didn’t have cable. Ah the memories man. Gonna get a smackdown shirt since i love the vintage wrestling shirts !!

I’m older than pav but this guy keeps hitting me with nostalgia especially with these obscure tag teams took me straight back
Eddie Guerrero when he does his thing Lying Cheating and stealing
Eddie was the greatness of Smackdown
Smackdown was my show !! I love these feelings. Watching Batista and ray and Batista vs taker was my heart. Honorable mention to Kurt as world heavyweight champion b
Wowww he’s got an ad now! My boy making it big time. Congrats Pav
One of my favorite and earliest SD memories is when Angle impersonated Cena, he looked like he came straight outta NFL Street lol
Word lmao
The giant Smackdown fist was iconic!
HD stages while practical, were a huge mistake
That’s actually the big shows fist 😂😂😂
Man, nostalgia is running all over my veins, what a time it was to be alive. I gotta say my favorite SmackDown moment was the whole Eddie vs Brock feud leading up to No Way Out 2004. Eddie’s promos were god tier during that rivalry and who could ever forget when Brock came out with a mariachi band, such an awesome rivalry
ok i see you but mine was kurt angle and brock leaser does a shooting star and miss me when i was 6 years old was impress but a bit scared for life
Yes King preach! I remember it all, it felt like SmackDown and Raw were always at war trying to outdo each other but, SmackDown had to go at a much faster rate because it only had 2 hrs to air as opposed to Raw's 3. In my opinion, the fast action is perfect
Man the 2000's wrestling days were AMAZING!
And gaming was also amazing
As a kid, all I’d have to hear was “And I won’t be denied” on the tv and that’s when I knew it was gonna be a great Friday
Drowning Pool, baby!!
I remember being so hyped af for the parking lot brawl between eddie and cena! 😭
hands down best SmackDown moment ever was Jeff Hardy's championship entrance after he won the WWE title for the first time. I was there in the arena that night, and it was the first wrestling show I'd ever been to, and it's still an amazing memory of mine
Look at our boy Pav getting sponsors.
So proud of him.
Honestly, that and Maria’s theme song are two very underrated songs 😂😂
I fought tooth and nail one night just to get good reception from my antenna. The main event was the 60 min Ironman match between Kurt and Brock. Smackdown was worth the battle
Growing up, I mostly watched Raw with my brothers and dad; especially in 2006 and 2007. Looking back on WWE from the 2000’s, Raw was mostly known as a segments show. Yeah they had some great wrestling too, but Smackdown! took it to a whole new level. It worked cause they were more considered the wrestling brand. I’m just glad that I got to grow up watching WWE during that time instead of now.
That intro is golden
My day gets better when Pav posts
True
Man. Me and grandpa sitting down every Friday night to watch smack down growing up. For years. Some of the absolute best times ever. Smackdown the 🐐!!
I have many fond memories of Smackdown. I will say my top two is Jeff Hardy beating Taker in an extreme rules match during his '08 run. My second one would be the Smackdown X episode in '09 where they were celebrating 10 years of Smackdown and the main event was John Cena, DX, and Undertaker vs. Legacy and CM Punk. It was so much star power in that match
I'm from Italy, back then SmackDown was hosted on public television and wrestling was as popular as football, literally everyone was watching it,truly a great time for an italian wwe fan to be alive
Nah
I grew up on Smackdown. I remember the excitement on fridays. I would wear my swap meet wrestling shirts to school on fridays. U made me get tickets for the show at the staples now
My favorite moment on Smackdown from the 2000’s is when Trish Stratus interrupted Stacy Keibler and proceeded to take off her jacket, showing her red lingerie and thicc body 🤩🤧 This was around May of 2002 for the record.
The only highlight in any AD I've ever heard quote "The perfect tools for your family jewels" 😂😂!!!
8:41 Biscuits and gravyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Made me a maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! Oooooooooh, biscuits and graaaaavyyyyy!😂
Smackdown! was stacked with Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Matt Hardy, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, Edge, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, etc.
Eyyy! My boi’s first sponsor! Haha congrats man!
in South Africa we always got Smackdown on Wednesday nights and Raw on Sunday afternoons, with Velocity on Saturdays, we were weeks behind the USA and it was heavily edited versions of the shows, cut down to run 45minutes with ads which summed it up to 1 hour, but oh boy we didn't care, we loved every minute of it, back then it wasn't something you just watched on tv, it was ingrained in our pop culture, wrestling was everything and that's what made it so good, we spoke of or favourite wrestlers, like we speak of our favourite super heroes.
I was definitely team smackdown alll through the 2000s n I was so hyped when smackdown move to Friday nights I was like yessssss I didn’t have to go to bed at 8:30 but raw I had to go to bed at 8:30 bc it was a school night n I hated it but Friday nights Was so freaking awesome I was looking forward to Friday nights especially the 2011 after cm punk piped bomb
thats tough i got to finsh raw and smackdown when it was on tuesday i finshed just have to go stragth to be after but if you think about 2013 it was on tuesday then 2011 thursday on then 2014 or 15 it change back to friday
Great video as always bro 👌SmackDown 2000s always holds a special place in my heart and the nostalgia of thinking of that epic feud between Eddie and JBL is just off the charts right now!
The roster was packed with future and past legends of the time. Talents that others didn't see as worth posting attention too were able to flourish and show what is to this day some of these guys best work in their long careers.
Tbh this is the only RUclipsr who actually has interesting and funny commentary for wrestling
Just by posting you made my day better. Congrats on 100k👍
My favorite smackdown moment from the mid 2000s was when undertaker showed up and just went Sicko mode. He gave like 8 people choke slams/last rides/ tombstones in the span of a minute 😂 but the best part of smackdown was Teddy long announcing that someone “ WILL GO ONE ON ONE WITH… THE UNDATAKAAA” 😂😂😂
man, I love how this channel brings me back.
I’m a little younger than Pav, I lived through the RA Era I just wasn’t allowed to watch until like 2010.
My three favorite SmackDown memories are Edge winning back the World Title off Ziggler on the anniversary show. Daniel Bryan’s first match back in 2015 the casket match with Kane, I was scared to death over his flying headbutt. And a random episode around 2013-ish where the main event was Reigns vs Sheamus and my grandma decided to watch with me and she simped all over Reigns’ hair.
Honestly, I feel for you, you missed a great thing. Looking back, 2010 was when it all went to hell, but that's just nostalgia talking on my behalf. There was good stuff there. But it would never top 2003-2007 SmackDown for me, and definitely after the first went away, it was the end of an era.
@@shady_the_one Yeah I mean SmackDown jumped the shark for me once they did the Undertaker/Kane “Vegetative State” angle, but ‘03-‘07 is great in hindsight. I remember catching glimpses of it channel surfing at my grandma’s place.
I only really played SVR and was never allowed to stay up late to watch the shows so when I saw Edge with the world title after cashing in or guys like Deuce and Domino or Shannon Moore I was very confused. 💀 If it wasn’t in SVR or a big four PPV I had no idea what was going on.
Wrestling without cable was tough before Thursday Night Smackdown came out...we had to watch Saturday Night Shotgun at midnight and Sunday night Heat that was added a few years later....it was just mostly exhibition matches with or against no-name wrestlers with recaps of the previous RAW while showing us previews for the next Monday Night RAW match-ups...Trying to stay in the loop that way was like breathing underwater through a straw...it was dark-ages!
If I had to pick one or two of my favourite SmackDown moments they would be the Los Guerreros vignettes and Eddie Guerrero pawning off Kurt Angle's belongings. Eddie was my absolute favourite. I still miss him.
every Friday at my grandmas me and my sister would watch smackdown with our grandmother . smackdown always will have that special place in my heart !
I started to watch WWE in early 2006 and I grew up on Smackdown, in my country SD was the only one on free TV so I will always be biased between Raw and SD. But man, I grew up and I still have the same opinion, SD was brilliant. I loved to watch the Undertaker, Edge, Triple H, Batista, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, ... It was amazing
I SCREAMED biscuits n gravy the second I saw Jessie, huge thank you for the gem at the end!!😭😂
Take a shot every time my guy says “smack down” RIP 😂
I think another reason everyone loved it because one, for most of the 2000s it wasnt on a school night. My parents actually allowed me to watch it because I had no bedtime. Two, it was on Free TV. It being on UPN and MyTV really help for people who didnt have cable. Especially since streams werent as popular as it is now. I was more of a Raw person as a child especially when Cena was on the brand, but Smackdown reminds me of my childhood more. It was so fun.
I hurt like hell after my football game but i come home and when i see wrestlingifs has made a video it makes me feel better
Lmfao the first minute and like a half with the manscape commercial is hilarious!

Undertaker and randy orton feud is one of my best childhood memories
To be honest, in 2005 i was in 5th grade growing up i only had access to spanish channels because my parents only had DISH TV latino package, so i had no access to basic american channels. The only way i was able to watch WWE was thru the channel Mun2 (mundos) which aired Raw on WEDNESDAYS not on mondays. So every monday at school i would hear my friends talk about what happen on RAW sometimes i would tell them to not tell me what happend that way i can see RAW without spoilers on Wednesday....as a son of illegal immigrant parents i thought the JBL at the mexican boarder was funny af haha #TEAMRAW
Ayyyyeee he’s finally getting sponsors!! You’re on the come up. Smackdown in the 2000s was definitely lit. The cruiserweight division was lit asf! All the division were good. The storylines were lit, Smackdown was just the full freaking show. Though I must admit I never really took sides. Both shows had superstars I liked and storylines I liked. Neither one of them sucked. Raw was better overall some years and Smackdown was better overall other years.
I wish smackdown was like this man especially smackdown from 2000-2009 was just something else like fr ♥️♥️♥️😩 man I miss the 2000s
SmackDown in 2000-03 was LIT and was at it's prime. So much better than the other 4 years of SmackDown.
I laughed so hard on that unseen JBL montage in my life. Smackdown is a different beast. Teddy Long is a top tier GM for making the show as crazy as it is😂

I first started watching wwe in late 2006. I remember always watching smackdown and then playing svr2007. Those were good days!
Favorite time in my life. I was a kid, and would finish watching Friday night smack down to go on and play smack down vs raw 2006 all night! It was great
One of my most favorite moments in Smack Down during 2000's when Brock Lesnar superplex the Big Show then the ring imploded, I laughed so hard everytime I watch it
Friday night SmackDown was def my thing as a kid cuz my bedtime was 9:00 on school nights lol
Can you do a video on the championship scramble matches?
My favorite Smackdown moment was around the end of 08' when Jeff Hardy went Berserk! Frustrated that he couldn't beat Triple H for the WWE title he then soon Beat Taker in an Xtreme Rules match, Beat HHH the next week and then went on that awesome Three way feud with HHH & Edge to finally become the Champion and have that huge Celebration with the massive amounts of Pyro and his short but strong run as WWE Champion.
My saddest moment was also Jeff vs Punk in the Steel Cage match. Shit had me crying and what's worse I had lost someone close to me IRL so I was in shambles for a year+ never watched Wrestling at all for like 2/3 years until I found out what TNA was and saw my boy Jeff doing his thing there and from then I kept in touch with both shows till thee greatest moment arrived in 2017, WM33 Jeff and Matt Returned.
