- In this video, we go through what REALLY happened to the youngest mechanic at Gas Monkey Garage, Chase Fillion. He was one of the first "non-Fast N' Loud" employees that Richard Rawlings hired and was a part of the Gas Monkey Garage RUclips channel. Chase helped build many vehicles at the shop including a Raising Canes School Bus and a seriously lifted Ford Dually Truck for Gorilla Pro. After a RUclips video involving a wrecked Ferarri, we never saw Chase Fillion and Richard Rawlings together again. Was he fired? Did he quit? Where did he go? Where is he now? It's really too bad chase is gone he had a lot of knowledge for a young guy, and I'm sure he will be missed.

I actually met Chase in the parking lot there at Gas Monkey.. He was absolutely phenomenal to talk to for being so young. We talked for every bit of 10 minutes. Then after he went in and Richard came out, Richard did stop for a photo with those of us standing out there, but was rushed and short with a few of them. I was more impressed with Chase than I was Richard honestly. And I’ve never missed a single episode.. on Discovery OR RUclips.. I know Richard has a business to run etc etc.. But he asked for all this glamour when he went to Discovery to pitch his show. At least smile for the pictures you take with your fans. Especially since they’re the ones who put you in this position. 😂😂😂

Chase was at Dennis Collins" auction on 4/29. I don't think he is to far from the crew. Just not on camera. If you watch the auction you'll see him pretty close to Collins. Well after he vanished from GMG RUclips.
He's 24 years old. My opinion is he made bank and "retired" to do what he wants. Like most people his age, they stay at a job, make a boatload of money working crazy hours, then burnout and go to another job. I wish him well.did crazy cool work and showed vast knowledge for his age

Richard has a lot on his plate he demands excellence and there are some fantastic people out there but confronted with paperwork managing people not too many people were cut out for that. I still love gas monkey garage and I fly their apparel proudly.

i think chase deserves to return, they need a new bunch of guys period, richard could not please anyone alot of people left, i think with the right person chase will go far, his boss was a crook, had to sell his cars, richard does not have the people skills

Chase may have signed an NDA before his hire that would include if he ever wanted to leave altogether or just get off the filming end of it and especially never publicly bad-mouth about Richard, the shop or the mechanics.
There are videos from Dennis Collins auction in late April (not Dennis or gas monkey videos) where Chase is "working" for Dennis. Pulling cars with his own truck, driving Dennis's fork truck etc. I wouldn't be surprised if he's working for Dennis, but can't be publicized do to contracts with Gas Monkey

Young energy introduced into an already established shop. How it plays out is anyone's guess. Mechanic dreams and builds get side tracked when you are working for someone else using their money.
I sorta notice Richard selling buckets recently. I thought chase messed up the David Allen COE car, he steel wooled the chrome. I steel wooled my chrome rims and scratched one up

I remember watching a GMG YT episode where he spent the entire show detailing some ole "low mileage rare crap box" all the while pumping GMG detailing products. I kinda thought WTH do they have this guy doing this job for? If I recall it was one of the last times we saw him on GMG YT channel?

All current and former employees signed NDAs. Richard won't hire anyone without it. Just the way it is. They need Richard more than Richard needs them. When the show was on all employees were on Pilgram medias payroll. When the show ended, Richard was not going to employ all of those guys on his wallet. Not a chance. That's why everyone left to do their own thing.
All builds during the Fast n Loud era were done with the help of Discovery. No shop can make money doing what they did without a show. The shop is there and it's the real deal. But they don't build cars for the regular crowd. No money in it. T shirts, raffles, RUclips revenue. That's how Richard makes his money.

The current running theory is that he fucked up either the Gorilla Pro truck or the Bus build and was fired, Richard hasn't even mentioned him since.
i suspected that too but i think its more on the bus build because the Gorilla Pro truck was finished and Chase was even credited with that build. the bus build was never featured again in the channel and i think that was the last build that Chase was in charge of. Richard only said something about the bus build in passing since it was shown on a shot on one of the channels episode. Chase was a good mechanic and builder with a lot of knowledge for being so young, he would have done a lot more with GMG. good luck to him what ever he is doing right now!
I liked Chase and hope everything is going well with him. I am betting Richard started something that created a riff between them and Chase left.

Whatever has happened Richard will have paid him off and possibly or well definitely a confidentiality clause agreement that he can't discuss why he left. If he had left by his own accord he would say so that basically tells everyone Richard got rid of him. Well what will Thomas weeks say to Josh going to work for Richard. In an episode of misfit garage Richard asks Josh what he's doing to which Thomas says don't you be trying to take any of my employees , Richard replys no I've had enough of those obviously meaning Tom and Jordan as we all know they weren't really sacked especially Jordan he never fell out with Rawlings until an episode saying he had sacked them and same year Misfit Garage started which was the better between Fast n loud and misfit Garage.

Wow this video is super lame. The only people who know what it's like to work with Richard are the ones who have. Although saying he's hard to work with (maybe he is) but then show the scene where someone literally with no insurance hits his car and Richard is mad. He 100% had a right to be mad in that moment just like anyone else would have done. Also telling people to reach out to the garage and find out why Chase left? Leave the garage and the kid alone and let them do there own thing.

The person that made this video is very inaccurate and seems to just be making things up. I’m fairly sure he was on Fast and Loud when KC was there. The only person that could really say why he left is Chase. I feel like they are just making things up in this video. Bad form.
