I have 2 Escalades and only the older one with the cast iron 6.0 will sound like this. Actually better....the compression is stupid on the 6.0. the 6.2 aluminum block on my EXT will not sound nearly as throaty and actually won't scream as loud as a 6.0 on my 05' on 24s

Anyway,my question is,why is the car backfiring after reving her up,when the rpms r coming down to idle? At least that what it sounds like. It’s un-burnt fuel combusting in the exhaust pipes. Doing an exhaust like this that’s not restrictive at all will let almost any car backfire after high revs. The more rich the tune is, the more it’ll pop too
Again, this is not a straight pipe as the cats are still on. That is just, as you said, a catback exhaust, nothing more. SO STOP SAYING STRAIGHT PIPE ALL OVER THE PLACE

I was thinking that the car was in track mode so that makes it sound more aggressive. I could be wrong tho
