Following Straylight and Pharlight. This one is great and I am delighted to include it in my collection. Thanks again NI!
As mentioned in the release trailer video in a comment of mine, I grabbed this almost immediately as I love Straylight so much (Pharlight is okay, this seems a bit like Straylight 2, which I appreciate). I got to play around with it a bit more since then and it has some really great patches. I also appreciate the inclusion of an Arpeggiator for the sample layer, and the additional effects options here and there.

Would be so amazing, if this plugin worked with standalone of Mashine Plus. Could NI to do this for us? 🙏👍
From the manual: “MASCHINE is not yet MPE compatible. Please run ASHLIGHT in KOMPLETE KONTROL, which supports MPE”. So the “yet” could mean “sometime”, rather than a flat out “no”, so possibly.

so that's Action Strings 2, Ashlight, Piano Colors, East Asia, already for Komplete 14, and it's not even due soon. This looks like it's going to be a buy so fast that my computer mouse might break.

@@parboilrice I made the mistake of buying Picked Accoustics, Noire and Mallet Flux indiviually. Sure, I wanted them immediately and had fun/productive hours with them, but it made Komplete 13 feel like an unnecessary buy until the 50% upgrade sale came along. I know better this time.

I have a product idea. Just one that'll change the entire world, overnight. The first VR 3D Audio Workstation. And I choose you, Native Instruments, to be the ones I collaborate with. Imagine this ASHLIGHT product, in use with your other instruments, where you can animate an ASHLIGHT sound through space...and when it hits a virtual wall it morphs into a sound from GUITARRIG6, and when it bounces back it becomes ASHLIGHT again (but the echoes off the other wall are from HYBRID KEYS). So what are we waiting for? Let's get going on this. Let's force all the tech companies to shift focus from non-sensical tyrannical health apps...to VR (the true Final Frontier of exploration). Anyhow, contact me through RUclips so we can begin discussions. We can set up an office here in NYC for testing and development and design (because that's where I am). When we're ready we begin discussions with APPLE to begin building the worlds that they will own. But we will own the sound portion.

Are you guys working on a metal guitar library for Kontakt?
This looks like it could be a preset pack for Straylight. The plugin itself seems to be the same, except for the background visual. I'll probably buy it anyway because I'm a lazy ass and this library sounds great, but I dunno they could just sell the presets for Straylight owners for a lower price.
Since there are some updates to the engine (the biggest one being an arpeggiator for the sample layer, plus some new effects options), that probably wouldn't work, and Straylight itself would need to get updated with the new features first.

Does this allow import of own .wav files and samples? unless i missed it?
It does, Straylight and Pharlight also have this feature. You can import your own samples into both the granular layer and the sample layer.
edit: Since we're on the topic of sample import - I wonder how feasible it would be to add multi-sample import support? So for example, instead of taking one sample and stretching it across the whole range, you'd pre-prepare multiple samples at various pitches and import them as a batch, then have scripts intelligently apply them to the proper keys & key ranges...
Haunted Spaces from Soniccouture does this, it would be amazing if this (and the other two entries in the trilogy) would support such an option too.
@@NanoAugur as far as I know padshop by Steinberg is also able to import Multisamples.....I didn't try it myself yet

Everybody that has a granular engine of any kind does it a bit differently I notice. Ableton is different than NI and Reason Studios Grain is a bit different yet so..................
The thing with these granular type.Kontakt libraries is that they are in the first for instant plug & play......they come with almost hundreds of playable and often usable presets as with Ableton's Grain Scanner e.g. you don't have any presets but all tools to create your soundscapes with any sample.....so the Kontakt granular libraries are more for inspiration but also real granular machines at the same time for sound design whereas Grain sampler and synths like Grain Scanner are for people who want to design their unique sound.....I like both 'worlds' as I'm a real fan of granular synthesis and have a lot of fun with them all as almost every granular synth or sampler and library is different with different sounds and possibilities

No, and even if you own Pharlight and Straylight in Komplete 13 UCE the upgrade pricing is a scam. I just bought Ashlight and it won’t activate. Apparently owning those two products in Komplete doesn’t count even though they don’t tell you that and will sell it to you anyway. They offer zero refunds too so I’m out $100 unless support does something
@@mrnelsonius5631 because they are different products. Not an upgrade. It will likely be included in next years Komplete bundle, but anything released after the last bundle gets published is full price.
@@lucid484 all of their pricing is confusing AF, but support got back to me. I WAS eligible for the upgrade (because I own the other two Lights via UCE) but their system is messed up. I suspect most people who will buy this are coming from the Ultimate Collectors Edition. We aren’t getting shafted, it’s just a mistake in their system that may take a few days to fix.

@@Jason75913 I think if mixing is done well, then no problem. But if these frequencies are not attenuated during the mixing phase, the mastering engineer is gonna cry blood.

by the way, keeping a mild dip in the overall mix balance around 4k-6kHz is probably a good idea? Many headphones and speakers have upper midrange boost in that area, and the loudness of smartphone and tablet speakers is just huge 4k-5kHz boost.
