This story make me think of Samuel. Even though he grew up in a house that worshiped God, and then went to the temple to learn with Eli. In 1Sam 3:7 it says that Samuel did not yet KNOW the Lord and the word was not REVEALED to him.
Everyone needs that personal encounter with the Holy Spirit to have the world revealed to them. Doesn't matter if you grew up in church or even as pastors kids.
