He's been on lead cards on and off since I started following in 2015, but look at his career wins and it's honestly not very impressive. Simon has been the face of the sport in different ways for most of his career, which is why people like him so much. He was always a great player, but if things weren't going his way he was quick to bring out the Simon lines which often cost him tournaments. Also people are now super excited to see him win, because he's been the favorite player to some of them for over a decade, but during that time he's only had a handful of actually big wins.

But he even has admitted he plays for fun more than winning alone, for years he'd take an entertaining 8th place with RUclips views on his channel over winning, but after a couple injuries, a break, married and kid, he's been a little more controlled and getting wins.

SIMON, SIMON, SIMON!! Let's gooo!! What an incredible 2 rounds to close it out with 3 strokes! His play on 16 blew my freaking mind, seriously GENIUS stuff.
The putting this season from everyone has been so next level, disc golf has changed so much the past 2 or 3 years it's insaaaane. We must have seen more C2 makes the past 2 rounds than maybe ever before?
And omfg Calvin's heroic double throw in, what a nutter! Shame he couldn't keep the heat burning 😢

True dat regarding putting this season. Look back at Idlewild, where Gannon basically got his 2 stroke win with his first 4 putts from 45-65 feet. Insane stretch of long putts to kick off that Final Front 9, go and re-watch those! And almost tossing it on on 14 from 80 feet and the Nomez for the win on 18!
Congrats to Simon from a fellow European who actually played with him when he was a kid doing great things at European Championships in 2007 in Belgium as a junior and also Berlin in 2009. Lifetime fan!

Man, hole 16 was one of the reason watching Live was better. The roller coaster of emotions before realizing we just witnessed a 10,000IQ play.

Good job Simon!! I don’t mind if courses make stupid and arbitrary OB, but they gotta play test their BS course before they put a playoff event at it!
