England came out with a game plan. They exposed Ireland with their left wing attack. Ireland had no game plan and no counter to their game plan. Ireland had the match won but gave the possession back to England in the last 4 minutes of the game. They should have kept possession and gone up the centre for a drop goal to put it out of the English reach.
Instead they gave away possession at the vital point and England did exactly what Ireland should have done.
Even if Ireland didn't get a drop goal they would have at least burned up the last few minutes of the match and won by keeping possession.
So really Ireland took their eye off the ball in the last 4 minutes.

England were good today really good I don't think it was a dog has its day moment it is more like the system Steve Borthwick is trying to implement got going. The english players are talented what held them back was a cohesive system this game will help that.

Unfortunately this game shows that *nothing* has been learnt since the World Cup.
England beat Ireland in *exactly* the same way that New Zealand did: go after Ireland’s lineout; apply pressure at the breakdown; and defend dominantly. Do that, and you stop Ireland, pretty easily.

Irish pundits should be ashamed, you know nothing, you gave ireland to win by 20 plus points, like the World Cup you underestimated the opposition.

The way england have been playing it could easily have been 20. But they put in a shift and Borthwick has got the pack organised esp at the set piece…

Strang strange- 24 hours ago it was the grand slam. People again forgot we were playing the 3rd place team in world cup. Very average Irish performance overall. Huge disappointment by team but what's new. 😂

I think Peter O'Mahony seems more calm and accepting of narrow defeat than head coach here.
Again Andy Farrell gives no idea on any General technical stuff of his actual impression to how game played out. Maybe its too raw at post match interview or he is thinking about the messages he is giving to the players. Still thats part of the role as head coach. 'To cut a long story short' is telling nobody what his reaction is, Compare this to Steve Borthwick's more expansive replies at his post match intervew. Our captain Peter O;Mahony gave more general idea of where disruption by England team to Ireland team's game plan was, along with he said it was a savage battle out there... well said,
Farrell could realise this is not FBI/CIA intelligence stuff, it a game of rugby and he could give a little bit more to Irish supporters on his general views rather than these philosophical answers like 'wer're realists' Its starting to come across as lip service and as head coach its not enough and its becoming tiring. Let’s win next weekend.

A well deserved win for Eng.

Not sure why this team gets branded as arrogant. Yes there’s some absolute cringe stuff coming from former players like Heaslip and Luke Fitzgerald and that idiotic bunch on off the ball doesn’t help. I have never heard anything from the players or coaches to warrant being called arrogant.
