This video was so insanely helpful! I’m a casual gamer and artist and I’ve been struggling to decide what type of computer to get. My desk is tiny, too! But I also already own an iPad so I think desktop is the way to go for me.
So many options and ability to customize with a desktop PC. Especially with the mini-PC technology improvements, it makes it less space consuming with good gaming experiences. Minisforum UM790, BeeLink GTR7, and the Geekom IT13 are great. The last one strictly for work, but you can connect it to a Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card for gaming. Nvidia RTX 4060 had a huge price drop to $330.
That intro was absolutely worth hitting the subscribe button. Seriously awesome work. Doubt you’ll see this but I do value your opinion. I bought a mid year 2020 MB Pro 13, with the upgraded i5, four thunderbolt ports, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. I’m wondering if I should upgrade to an M1 MB Pro base model. I do video editing as a hobby. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate you watching and don’t worry, I reply as much as can 🤙🏼. In regards to the MacBook question, if you’re video editing as a hobby even the M1 Air will blow you away. I was running my channel on the M1 Air for 2-3 months before switching to the Pro. What I’d do I prob wait for the new Airs/ MacBooks that are supposed to come soon if you wanna upgrade.
I have a laptop for work. I can carry it around all day, and when I return to my desk I hook it up to a usb-c dock which is connected to a big monitor, mouse, full keyboard, charger. For personal computer, I have a mac mini at home.
Both for me as require a MacBook out and about for work, so M1 MBP + Eve Spectrum. Also means I can do some serious gaming at 4K 144hz with 1ms RT via Xbox Series X on the same set up I use for work!
I am thinking about getting a PC, because I can use it in my room and not have to worry about it breaking during mobility and will not affect the fan or of the overheating because of climate adaptations. I am going to buy a nice desktop a Lenovo Thinkpad for cybersecurity.
I tried the 1 laptop and 1 desktop and it created unnecessary hassle and redundancy for me. I’d have to keep transferring files between the two and sometimes I’d be home and the desktop would have some files I’d need etc. got pretty annoying. But yeah iffff you need the power, desktops are great!
@@TausifHussain You can use NAS if your workflow is shared between the 2 computers, if you have separate workflow then there is no problem. You can just use 1 laptop as well but keep in mind laptops are not made for intensive, prolong workflow. For example gaming and livestream 8 hour/day will destroy the battery in a couple years and there is a risk that other components will fail too.
I’ve always been a desktop guy but I’ve lately become obsessed with having my family photos and videos with me all the time I.e while away from home or even just being sat on the couch and being able to look at videos of my kid etc. the only problem for me is I want a 4TB ssd which requires a second mortgage
Let me stop you right there, it's far better to use a HDD for large storage, if it is only meant for storing files then its cheaper option. SSDs should be used for system files and program files to ensure you get faster access to them. Just only saying that you should use HDD if you are storing files that don't get accessed more often.
For a medical student who already have a M1 MBP. What do you recommend, just buy an external monitor or sell the MBP and buy an iMac 24" + iPad Pro 12.9 (I'm looking for an iPad even with the MBP anyway)? Money wise.
I'd look into buying the iPad and using Sidecar to hook it up as a second display. you probably don't need to spend the money on an external monitor that way, and keeping the MBP whilst having an iPad gets you full mobility with enough power to spare.
of course, if screen real estate is bothering you, then it's a different conversation. but I'd say that using the iPad will offload a lot of what would be on your MBP screen anyway; you can do handwritten note taking whilst having a lecture up on the MBP screen, etc. maybe that could work well for you.
battery is an issue . my desktop lasts for 6year and still working . however , my laptop only lasts for three years and thermal throttling and battery breeak
Best practices: - Desktop PC is best for those that get to work from home for powerful performance, better screens, and far more customization. - Laptops for those on the go, especially business travelers/college students/people with annoying family. Both can be done, but it can get expensive in 1 year. Stretching it out over 2-3 years is better.
Warping and scaling issues? Not when I use my MBP with the Apple Studio Display. I DO worry a little bit about the effect of keeping the MBP plugged in all the time on battery longevity. But I use Apple’s battery optimization setting. And I plan on renewing AppleCare for the life of my MBP, making the battery life AAPL’s problem.
Yeah that’s what I said in the video. It’s much better now with the new apple display and MacBooks! Previously I would have issues here and there. Also yeah battery is something to consider but doesn’t matter to me much really.
The only time I see myself use a laptop is while laying down, and for some odd reason, when I think between which one to get I’m pulled towards the laptop, I’ve always had imacs before, ive had a macbook until my ex took it although I hardly used it, it was very useful when you needed a computer while not being at your desk. 🤦♂️ ill end up with both…
Yep, when (most modern) MacBooks are fully charged and they'll take the power directly from the wall wart rather than use the battery - it shows in the video that the power source was coming from the adapter
Hello there, I have a simple question. My laptop is a 17.3" FHD (1080p) resolution. Can I connect this laptop to an external 24" monitor QHD (1440p) ? thank you
wow, that intro was art 😂
Thank you haha!
I like using desktops for work and personal life separation. The more power, i/o and not worrying about battery percentage are all plus points.
All great points!

Hahah that icecream on the screen made laugh so hard! Take care Salam!
Dude, that intro was AMAZING 😂
Excellent video. Thank you!
Thank you for watching !!
My 2015 MacBook Air is constantly plugged in. When I unplug and use it - battery lasts most of workday. Now that’s called quality.
The intro is so emotional! Poor 24 iMac. I almost cried when it got sad.
Hahaha Tausif’s content in one word. DELIGHTFUL!
Notification gang checking in 💯 you literally have the best thumbnails aesthetic 🙏🏽👑
I've been a desktop user for the last ten years but I don't do much gaming these days so I don't have much reason to continue that route.
Both for me as require a MacBook out and about for work, so M1 MBP + Eve Spectrum.

Hallou, i would like what about scalling performance? what scaling options do you use? thanks
Awesome video. My favorite line “I just want to go out iMac”….lol
Haha thank you!!

Best intro ever. Brilliant.
i wish more people can watch this piece of art content
That intro! Hahaha

If you only have one computer. Laptop is the way to go. If you have more than 1, then 1 laptop and 1 desktop.

amazing review, helped me
So glad I could help!
Award winning intro here !
AMAZING INTRO!!!! LOVE IT!

nice video buddy!
Thanks for watching!
That Intro 😂😂😂
you comments about the battery, the new mac os will automatically adjust to charge to 80% with settings.

lmaoo the intro
Awesome Intro 🎉

@@TausifHussain I agree. Battery only matters to me when it finally fails completely and has to be replaced.
My M1 Max do not stop until 80% charge. It goes until 100%
I have to watch myself. Is there any solution to stop 80% by itself?
The only time I see myself use a laptop is while laying down, and for some odd reason, when I think between which one to get I’m pulled towards the laptop, I’ve always had imacs before, ive had a macbook until my ex took it although I hardly used it, it was very useful when you needed a computer while not being at your desk. 🤦♂️ ill end up with both…

hahahahahahaha thxxx for this vid
I thought using the MacBook plugged in doesn't affect the battery health because it uses the charger as power source and not the battery. 🤔
Yep, when (most modern) MacBooks are fully charged and they'll take the power directly from the wall wart rather than use the battery - it shows in the video that the power source was coming from the adapter
What monitor are you using?
Mix of Lg ultra wide 5k and now apple studio display

Hello there, I have a simple question. My laptop is a 17.3" FHD (1080p) resolution. Can I connect this laptop to an external 24" monitor QHD (1440p) ? thank you
It’s not simple because it depends on the graphics of your laptop and the ports. But most likely it will work
Great intro

nice video
mac or windows? :(
just shut the lid and disconnect-- what about the external disks and ejecting them?
I only connect external disk when I need to and then disconnect. Why have the disks spinning while idle for no reason :)!
Nice video

Great video, but you are totally misspelling & mispronouncing the word ‘longevity’ and it is super-annoying.
