Everyone needs a little joy in their life! Meet Jim and Debbie, the owners of a beautifully raised DIY 40ft skoolie. This beast of a rig has full-size everything in the kitchen, radiant floor heat, and electric recliners with heat and vibration! The bathroom is spacious with a closing door that opens up the soaking tub with a shower across from the compost toilet.
There's plenty of outside storage underneath the bus that serves to hold tools, a generator, and other miscellaneous items. There's also a gorgeous mountain range mural on the sides of the bus that Jim painted! These two have been on the road for four years and don't intend on stopping anytime soon!

I have followed this beautiful couple for some time now & they have got to be the most pleasant, kind, generous, laid back, artistic, gifted, talented people I've ever seen. They are so genuine & true to who they are & their beliefs & that's so rare these days. I am so glad they were featured on your channel. I've been married almost 20yrs now & just turned 48....my husband is my best friend & we have owned & operated a small plumbing & electrical business for a little over 10yrs & we spend every minute of every day together & we fall more & more with one another every day....I imagine this will be us soon & they inspire us to get out there & see this beautiful country that we have been blessed with. We can't make it happen fast enough in my opinion. If any young couple is watching & reading this, I have this to say to you, if ever you wanted/needed an older couple to look up to, to aspire to learn from, to show you what being happy & in love looks like then this couple is definitely who I would look to & follow. Of course they're not perfect but they sure make growing older & living life to the fullest look enjoyable & easy. Great job y'all! I first fell in love with your bus then with both of you. I love listening to your beautiful music! Thank you! Prayers for safe travels & all that makes you happy! You deserve it!

This is a very sweet couple. Husband mentions wife’s name on every sentence and sounds like teenager when talking about ‘we hold hand together when driving….!’ and etc! They do live like youngster with all the passions and energies they are embracing. Surly can feel their contentments and joys of the free-sprite schoolie life! Awesome! 👍🏻
You two are amazing!!! I have one regret after seeing your video, that is if my husband was still alive & I showed him your story, I know I'd be able to talk him into building us a bus & travel. I lost him 2 years ago after 47yrs of marriage, he was & still is the love of my life, my world crashed around me. He was 85, but healthy. He was suppose to live to be 100!!! He owned & drove semis before I met him so he didn't really care about taking trips. When we got together he owned a construction company & worked right along with his crews. After about 30 years he decided to go into home repair & remodeling. He specialized in restoration of older homes, that was what he really loved. He did alot of different things before construction, in other words he was a jack of all trades & master of them all!!!!! IF ONLY. I'm 74 now & on a very fixed-income so I guess it's just a pipe dream. Who knows??? Thank you very much for showing me that there's still might be a chance. ❤

What a Beautiful build, very well thought out. You have the room for full size appliances and think that alone is a very smart move, you can pretty much find them anywhere, if they go out. The white color makes everything so bright and cheerful. I could go on an on, just fabulous 😍 .....But the Best part of the build, is You Two!..... VERY good point on fear!! I love your rig! My daughter and I are 2 weeks away from taking in the good life. I also was thinking about doing the radiant heat. I'm a remodeler of 30+ years and modifying my career as a mobil RV tech.

We're a skoolie, and we have a question" How do you get water from shower, tub and sinks to gray water tank if it's under the bed. We love your skoolie. Hope to see you on the road some day.

It is gravity flow. The gray tank is lower than the sinks. We do have a smaller gray tank beneath the bath.
You guys are a joy to watch. I'm wondering two things But before that I'm so glad to know there are Christian Skoolies. I am almost 72. My house and all inside is up for sale. We have one possible on the hook. Now
1 as soon as I get sold I will be getting a bus. My son thinks he can build it. He's really smart, a Christian,his wife 3 kids home schooled, do everything their small Baptist church needs, he never has a minute. I cried to God once that I needed a home that I felt comfortable asking the pastor to lunch. Told God after a health scare, that I'd live here forever if he wanted and gave the problem to him.
Very soon after that we moved from our 87 acre farm to 124 acre with a long ranch house I wouldn't be ashamed to invite any any body to lunch. And it was right across the highway from the country church, pleasent Grove Baptist church where I still attend. We had to move or loose it because of my husband's 3 by pass. This time I fought everyday to pray for God to handle this. I had had my nice house and would where he said. The day we sold that we found a house in nearby town and the the sale of our place and buy this one at the same table same day. I did not expect another nice house. But God gave it. Now my husband and my mom who lived with us ,died about 6 mo. apart. Again I'm trying trust God for my next house. My son said Bus. I loved the idea. I always did want to. But, my home now has all my books on the wall. 11 wall units. The house is furnished with a handycapp bath and shower with a bench that will hold my weight. Like Jim I have too much in front of me. I am losing some though. Now, my question.
1. I'd like control of my build but, I really don't have I think, very many years left. My husband died ,a 30 vet, in 2019. I will need a good shower that fits me and my needs. A small 5 window, will not fit what I need. I have driven big farm trucks and might could handle 28-30 feet. But only the small bus would fit in a parking space. I have an electric wheelchair I havent been able to use, no lift. I can walk around the house and even into church. From car up the ramp and inside to 2 ND bench, is about 25 feet. I can do that. Trouble is that's my limit at present and I can not stand in one spot. In 15 sec I'm in great pain to stand. So no standing at the counter waiting to pay, etc. I still believe I can do this and need too. We are 40 miles north of Abilene TX. I'm living at my son's. My house is 6 blocks away. My Christian younger brother just gave me a wash/ like yours only the smaller one. I feel that answers the question. Should I get a bus.
Sorry so long winded, but do you know anybody that has a started or complete bus I might buy. My son really wants to do the electrical in my bus and he has the knowledge to do it well. Also I will have a CB and a ham radio with a good tower system for those and internet. If you know of any or have any ideas that I might consider, I would welcome.
2. I want to be near other Christians.
I'd like to name name my bus something like granny's Sunday school bus. Teaching is my pastion. I have a degree in Criminal Justice from MO State, Springfield. I also like to encourage teen agers.
Hit the wrong buttom got you back now have 2 buyers my son just said. Pray for thanks. Oh I'm also a gospel musician. Sing play guitar and some mandolin and other stuff that won't fit in a small bus. Son says God got this . Thanks for listening
Just watching this program improved my attitude. Lovely feeling home and well described. And the narrators are absolutely a joy. These two and baby laughter can cure our world. Don't let all those legislators get fat on great meals whilst they talk and talk and stall. Have law makers [force them to] watch about solar power, practical skills, appreciation, caring and respecting, life pleasures, cooking, learning skills, exchanging helpful information with other people, and doing pleasant behaviors. This couple is a role model for couples of any genders and shows mutual respect and enjoyment.THANK YOU

This is probably my most favorite bus build. If I can ever convince my husband to live this lifestyle, this is how I would want my bus to look. What I like about it is the fact that it is like living in a small apartment. I would want a walk-around bed and would probable not have a tub but that's about the only thing I would change.
