Great analysis, again. 👍 I think this year could be the one to break the trend of overall winner coming in the top 2-3 of the televote. We obviously don't know the qualifiers and running order fir the final yet, but that could make a big difference. That being said, I believe it's going to be super close, with Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and Netherlands. On 20:45 you said pre-parties were NOT about vocals, when you were defending Belgium's total vocal and stage flop. Musti destroyed that song, honestly. But my real question is: if it's not about vocals, as you said, why then you praised Nemo vocals brought him the poll rise. There is smth fishy about that and totally contradictory 🤔⁉️ Somehow confirms what people say that Nemo was boosted up by lgbt and queer lobbies cause of his non-binary message in the song. Same situation like with Conchita Wurst. So, it is not actually about the song quality, but about the mission of establishing non -binary gender standards, because that is his story - new generation of non-binary people comming to rhe surface ? That's it all about ?! Wtf is happening to this world? Can they use another platforms to promote private sexualuty or gender orientations, instead of abusing the ESC stage for that ? It's not any more about songs, isn't it ? It's about who has more money, power and lobbies ?
I totally agree with you about this "non-binary" invetion, which just totally goes against biological facts. That's enough said about it. "Wtf is happening to this world" is an apt way to describe it!
I would think that the Netherlands and Croatia will steal televotes from each other. This might lead to a situation where both the televoter's and the juries' top 3-5 gets quite croweded. I also think that Italy and Ukraine will get lots of televoter pooints. And also there are several jury pleasers in the game too; France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium... SO exciting!
This is my ranking according to the number of times I listened to songs in the car: Baby Lasagna - "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" (28 plays) Angelina Mango - "La noia" (12 plays) Nemo - "The Code" (6 plays)

Hi Tom David here from Leeds Uk. Missed your videos over past 7 days hopefully there'll be more when rehearsals start. I have followed your logic and reasoning for years as a fellow eurovision fan but I'm slightly baffled about your thoughts on Netherland winning the contest. As I see it the song will not place high with the juries even with a good presentation - lower than kaarija I believe who was placed 5th with juries . That then leaves the public vote - I can see the attraction but when you look at public reaction both on social media platforms and ogae infe / which are made up of public/eurovision fans they are not scoring highly either? So I hope you can expand on your thoughts in future videos? I do however agree with Switzerland as everything points to high scoring (not necessarily top in either) with both segments. I also think there is huge potential for excellent staging here. ! ( i hope they have that dr who effect on thd backdrop when he travels through genres - looked really effective at ore parties. To me the contest lies between Switzerland/ Croatia / Italy . Love to hear your thoughts kind regards David
So far my top 3 are holding fast (Croatia, Switzerland, Italy) through the first Pre-Party set. I feel the worst for Olly Alexander, who’s getting unfairly brutalized on social media and an awful singing slot in London.
I don't think Joost will get much votes from the jury, certainely not enough to be in the jury's top 10. I can't see this winning, even with a massive televote. Btw. the televote will be divided between CRO, NED, CH, ITA and GRE.
This is really what it comes down to. The only televote friendly song that will do well with the Juries that I can see to compete with Switzerland is Italy. So I still think it is between these two. Croatia or Joose would need a big televote win and they may end up cancelling each other out to a large degree.
@@russell10 I don't understand why people keep saying that Italy will be high with the juries and rightfully so while ignoring Greece and Marina who has an excellent voice (ik the song is more risky but we have seen juries voting for songs with a good choreography and great singers like Chanel and Noa).
@@gmr6898 I think Italy has a broader appeal as a song, rather than any specific “jury bait” factor. It’s still number 1 on ESC app and 2nd on Eurovisionworld poll to win etc. high stream numbers on RUclips/ Spotify etc. Greece is certainly a different type of entry, I think it will do well, possibly top 10 in both jury and televote….although I admit I don’t see it cracking the top 5 in either.
@@russell10 I don't see Italy as " televote friendly" at all. It's typical jury fodder! I can't fathom why it's considered so popular. But Italy is usually overestimated in ESC, anyway.
@@russell10 Italy will flop with the televote while Greece will be top 3-5. Public loves new and experimental stuff. La Noia is just overrated in the eurofans community. No hate towards the entry it's in my top 10 still but you'll see that people don't overly vote those wannabe type of songs.
Ahhh I wish this had been done post-LEP so we coulda included things like how Bambie absolutely smashed that and flew up the qualifying odds of Semi 1 afterwards. Similarly Nutsa performing Firefighter for the first time and blowing everyone away too! That's just me being overexcited though and obviously updates are happening all the time haha. Thanks so much for all the work you put in Tom, great breakdown
Knowing Tom and his amazing work on his videos - I am pretty sure he is watching the odds daily and will talk about it in the next update video. So no need to panic. Big shout out also to Tom for giving us the best eurovision videos :)
Nemo will be very hard to beat if you consider the arithmetic and other songs likely to compete. Cant see any other winner of the jury vote, then becomes a question of whether someone can landslide the televote (Croatia or Italy or Netherlands) which I don’t see happening. There is a good chance Switz may get 200+ in the televote which to me would be game over.
Unpopular opinion: I think that Nemo won’t get as much in televote as people seem to believe. Don’t get me wrong, he’s in my top 5 since the beginning but most of the people in the Eurovision bubble didn’t react well to it after a first listen and it took sometime for them to start liking it. Most of the people who watch the final are actually for the first time hearing a song (or have perhaps heard it in the semi). I think that for a lot of the people it will be too much to take in
@@Ardnasper I think the big difference is studio version vs live version. Nemo is going to stand out and really shine on Malmo stage I believe.. the rap, the piano slow down and then the epic vocal falsetto ending are all moments that will differentiate and elevate. These moments generally translate to big televote scores. But certainly all guesswork at this point.
it's a matter of points. Nemo can absolutely win the juries, but with a margin of 30-40 points from the second (that coul be Italy or France). And I can see Italy get 40 more points than Switzerland at the televote. It's a matter of points
Great video again. Cannot split any of the top 7 apart from Ukraine 🇺🇦 which is a song that I don't like. Any of that top 7 can win. Switzerland is a really good song, Croatia 🇭🇷, France 🇫🇷 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 could really stand out. The odds maybe underestimating France 🇫🇷.
Sorry, even if your analysis seems built and good, I just agree with you for the first place to Switzerland. I don't like Italy and Ukraine. The Italian singer is very annoying and one of the Ukrainian singers sings pretty wrong.
I think, so far, we only have 4 potential winners: - Netherlands: top 2 televote, top 6/7 juries - Croatia: top 2 televote, top 6/7 juries - Italy: top 4 televote, top 3 juries - Switzerland: top 5 televote, top 2 juries
Italy hasn't been at the top of these winners odds so far this year. The highest they've been was 2nd and that was back in February (before Croatia went up to 1st)
I personally believe France will win the jury vote and Croatia will take the public vote . If France or Croatia wins I will be very happy . I cannot see the appeal with Switzerland or Italy but it’s not my decision completely lol . Things would be different if it was lol
I am not that experrienced in this, so can smbd explain to me, if Swiss song is so wonderfull, why it was so low all this time? Why its admirers did not vote for it from the very beginning. Cause, this way, people mention it was staged that lgbt and queer lobbies and communities boost him up, they like know the tactics of voting snd polls ? Also, people comment "It's time for a non -binary person to win the ESC" (?) Are such things even possible, I mean, it sounds like they are on a mission to push him just because of his non -binary thing? Is that even possible? I also read in comments that Italians snd Netherlands simply can't stand that guy Lasagna? If all that is truth, I think after Amsterdam, it will be: Swiss Netherlands Italy Croatia, or even that France will be boosted , so ... that's my prediction considering the situation...
That’s exactly my problem, I did listen to it more than once, but I simply can’t remember it afterwards. It lacks something and I can’t tell what it is ❤️
@@Maria_muziekjesI read a comment by someone else (different reaction video) and he/she/It/they? said it doesnt give any emotion and I think that is whats bothering me slightly about this entry. For me it doesnt give me any emotions.
Croatia is the only country I can see being in the top 3 of both the jury and the televote. It’s also pretty much guaranteed to win the televote so they should be the #1 favorite for winning the whole contest. I see Italy winning the jury vote because I just can’t see a country like France or Belgium being on the split screen against Croatia in the final seconds of the voting when you know they will get very little televote points. That being said, I don’t think Italy will have enough points to win and I see them coming anywhere between 4th-6th in the televote at best. This is the type of song that is more liked in the actual community (girl bop) compared to the general public and Italy haven’t won with much better songs. I also expect Ukraine to do really well (probably 2nd in the televote behind Croatia and about 9-11 with the jury and 3rd overall). I love Switzerland and it’s currently my #2 in my rankings, but I just don’t see Nemo being top 3 with either the jury or the televote. It’s similar to Austria from last year, a community darling and a very original song, but I don’t think it has mass appeal. It will do better than Who the hell is Edgar, but not enough to win. The Netherlands is my #1, but the jury will absolutely bury it (at best I expect somewhere around 17th) and I don’t think it will have as strong of a televote as people think since it’s been consistently around 6th-13th in all kinds of fan rankings.
I can't imagine Croatia getting the most points in the jury voting. It's also about the voice and I think it's just average. Nemo‘s voice is far better. We will see 😊
@@coro7413 I never said Croatia would win the jury vote but it’s not unreasonable that he can come 3rd. Kaarija finished 4th with the jury (just 20 points behind Noa who was 2nd) with similarly poor vocals. Croatia has a more radio friendly song than Finland, it's in English and a lot less experimental, it's basically a pretty basic rock song with 15 seconds of techno.
@@serbOgisha I explained it in the comment above. Kaarija was nearly 2nd in the jury vote with a less jury friendly song. Also, Croatia is 2nd in the odds at the moment. The jury tends to vote by inertia and won’t penalize the biggest heavy fan favorites too much. They are guaranteed to come at least top 5.
I hope she will be in the final, but there is no jury votes in semis and that is scary. I hope there is still enough who likes uniqe song and recognize on of the best voices on ESC this year.
Switzerland is probably the biggest grower on me this year, but I'm still rooting for Croatia. Last year I split my vote across a bunch of countries I like but I'm seriously considering just throwing everything at Croatia.
Mans won even if he was third with the televote. On the other hand, Loreen would have won even if she had been fifth. So winners can also be lower than second in televote.
hmmm thats a slight oversimplification, if you take away those 60 points so that she is 5th in the televote, then you need to give them to somebody else. so she wouldnt be 1st then anymore. but i get your fundamental point
I'll be attending the Amsterdam pre-party this weekend so I'm looking forward to seeing 30 acts live, including Italy and Greece! And Joost of course! It's incredible how much of a hype Europapa has become here; I can't really remember a Dutch entry being so hyped, not even Arcade. The kids at my daughters' school are singing it all day long 😂
@@MCohSnap When a song needs extra explenation beside the lyrics, that song is not 'making sense'. That has nothing to do with 'fanboyism'. On the other hand, saying that above mentioned type of song 'makes sense' is definition of fanboysm.
Places 11-25: I mostly agree, except Finland and Norway, they are great songs. And Spain is also a good one (though not that good as Finland and Norway).
Places 1-10: I would take Sweden from this group and move to a lower place. I am not sure about Belgium and France either (though I like them... I like Belgium more than France this year).
Hope Slovenia goes super heavy on the staging and costumes and dancers. As gorgeous as her singing it, it really needs the drama of her video to get any movement. At the moment Bambi is filling that niche better by costuming and make up alone. I noticed, for myself that Angelina’s song works better with seated audience. It feels sort of quiet with full house concert like audience. Nemo and Baby Lasagna both work amazing in the pre-party set up. I’m worried Baby Lasagana’s home made staging will handicap him. I expect something epic from the person who staged Kaarija last year.
I dont understand the hype around Switzerland. After the pre-parties, Croatia stands head and shoulders above the rest! I would have honestly DOUBLED BL's odds after seeing the crowd reaction in Madrid and Marco's new energy in London!
Out of the favourites to win I'd be fine with either Angelina or Baby, though I prefer Angelina out of the two. Sorry to Nemo but I genuinely do not see the appeal, I can definitely see that this is gonna do well but it's my least favourite out of the possible winning songs. Praying that Europe gets over its bad taste and Raiven places higher, wtf is she doing that low. Same for Nebulossa. I'm also extremely happy for Marina, I think she's gonna do exceptionally well, we pretty much have a spot in the top 10 secured I think.
Great stuff! I took a punt on Switzerland pretty soon after it was released. I got 17-1! Imagine my joy when I heard their first live performance! Result! A Winner is you!
Everyone who wants to compete for the win, needs to go past Nemo, that's for sure. The Code is my absolute favorite this year, clicked with the first listen.

dark horses for the top ten: Norway and Estonia, both of whom I expect to do VERY well in the televote. a not-so-dark horse: Sweden, who I expect to do VERY well with the juries and to exceed expectations with the televote; top 10 for sure, top 6 isn't impossible.
Svitzerland is firrst because a lot of Swiss are betting on him. I think Malta did the same few years ago, but it didn't help them to get high reeult, only to be high in betting odds which is a waste of money. P.s. 'Riva', who won in 1989. Is from Zadar, not Zagreb.
no evidence of this whatsoever. I know a few friends here in the UK that had a fair bet on Nemo when they were around 8/1 before the first live performance. The odds collapsed after the live performance which just showed what a vocal talent they are. So the odds collapsing was not due to outside interference or steering (a la Malta) but from simple demand following very positive signs of a Eurovision winner.
Too bad that betting is not even legal in Switzerland. So your theory will not stand. Unless all those Swiss people have found a way to get around these restrictions by using alternative links or traveled to another country to bet which I highly doubt considering the numbers that this would take to get it to the #1 position...

Germany has a good song, but their weak spot is presentation. Put him in a more dapper outfit, get some dancers to do running inspired choreo, add more dramatic lighting, and you have a truly strong entry.
Nemo is a good singer but he’s not the only one, Italy and France are possible jury winners too. I also think the more conservative people in Europe won’t vote for them. Besides this the song isn’t very special, they will do well, but I somehow I don’t think it’s the winning song 🥲
Graphics look fab as usual Tom Personally, I will be looking for value in this year's final Suprise Top 10 results? Ireland, Estonia and Portugal Jury winner? France or Belgium Televote winner? Croatia Overall winner? Ukraine, Switzerland or Italy Last place? Back to the old reliables I'm afraid. Germany, Spain or UK Lets see how badly wrong I am! 🙈🙈
Thank you John ❤️ Those top 10 picks could be worth a shot. Could maybe get a bargain on Portugal if you could bet on them as soon as they’re announced as a qualifier
Joost in Amsterdam will go viral amongst the community and crowd reaction will influence its popularity. Also performing last in the semi final will decide if he blows everyone away in the televote. If it’s gone crazy in Belgium and Holland I see it doing the same around Europe once it truly hits the masses. If the jury side heavy with either Italy or Switzerland then they will win Joost in Amsterdam decides the sway which way though. Then we will know
It is questionable why he didnt appear at other preparties..maybe he is afraid that public wont react so good like in Amsterdam where domestic crowd knows all words (of course that noone knows to speak dutch in Spain, Uk so public could react meeh whìch is not good for his fake popularity aca hyped popularity created in Benelux)
Also, if I can add one more thing: and that is a known fact most of the analysts also state: Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland: TICKETS WOULD BE PRICEY, more expensive to what the cost would be in Croatia. Regardless who wins, we are UP FOR QUITE A SHOW IN MAY! 🎉🎉❤
So Moldova is already literally a toilet break song now, as well as Iceland 😅 Not a good sign for them. But yeah, love it that there's a new nr 1, and still rising too, so this year seems very open. But funny though how with nearly everyone else (outside bottom 20), Tom said they have the potential to do well even if not win, but not Finland😉 Although it applies to it the same as to most others.
I don't know..For me song needs to give me some emotions. It can be anger, hapiness, craziness, sadness. Any emotion. Switzerland's song leaves me empty and still can't grasp why. Maybe it's a lack of emotion/special vibes in vocals, maybe sincerety, rawness? 🤔
I respect your comment, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I think Nemo’s voice is extraordinary, the song is special in a way that (for me) no other song this year is, and I think that it is baked in with emotions. That said, I hope that you can respect my opinions just as I respect yours. Art is subjective, and that’s the beauty of esc.
@@AW-EV-and-FTM Why I would not respect your opinion? We all feel world in a different way.To give a base to my opinion I will provide one of the many examples. Barbara Pravi. I love the way you do this, looking at the songs one by one and giving updates accordingly. A lot of big talk about Klein when we haven't yet seen a proper live performance from him. I don't count the grainy, dubbed RUclips TV film put out by his team. I'm not yet sure it will get such a good televote.
I think that considering betting odds is somehow confusionary.. basically u are rleying a relatively small amount of ppl putting money on smth.. Maneskin were 3rd then they won... Gabbani were 2nd or 1st and came out 6th... so basically i would consider for sure the higher ones to be a potential winner but i won't base everything on those
It was just too red. And I would have preferred them wearing their usual, black clothes. Also this year it won’t make a difference what they will be doing with the staging. And Isaak is not the type for fancy dresses anyways.
Odds can change, but not sure Joost will be able to displace Switzerland at the top of the rankings. I feel like all the positive vibes about Netherlands is baked into the price at the moment, it has gone viral through Netherlands / Belgium etc and the odds take that into account. To overtake Italy or Croatia would also be surprising I think at this point but let's see what happens..
I'm hoping Australia at least qualify. It sucks that we don't appear to be doing pre-parties at all but I totally get why. We got a sneak preview of rehearsals and vocals are top notch but I'm so keen to see staging and if theyve made any alterations to the music.
France is 100% winning the juries. I think he has a better shot at winning than Netherlands, Belgium and Croatia. The bubble is underestimating him too much.
Did you see how high they rated Italy and Estonia last year? Many people thought these two songs are "dull" @@elvinam888 People are just trying to make up crap to fit their own agenda. Goodnight
I find this year contest to be very open mainly because songs are very weak and quality is so low. So sad for Portugal odds because this is 10 times better quality than most of the top 10 currently.

@@jtb357 It's a purity test about his stance on Israel-Palestine.
@@algrave 😩 oh dear

I was at the London party and Bambi blew me away!! I forgot I was even at a Eurovision event.
I dont believe switzerland is coming 1st but its going to come top 4.
Switzerland will be nr1 by jury votes, because of the trans-non binary agenda. Winner by tele-vote will be croatia
NEMO MY WINNER ♥
@Ardnasper what you're saying isn't an unpopular opinion. I see a lot of people suggesting they'll get a low televote score
France will SWEEP the juries, I would bet my life that Switzerland isn't gonna get more points than France.
it's a matter of points. Nemo can absolutely win the juries, but with a margin of 30-40 points from the second (that coul be Italy or France). And I can see Italy get 40 more points than Switzerland at the televote. It's a matter of points
Great video again. Cannot split
any of the top 7 apart from Ukraine 🇺🇦 which is a song that I don't like.
I think, so far, we only have 4 potential winners:
- Netherlands: top 2 televote, top 6/7 juries
- Croatia: top 2 televote, top 6/7 juries
- Italy: top 4 televote, top 3 juries
- Switzerland: top 5 televote, top 2 juries
Italy hasn't been at the top of these winners odds so far this year. The highest they've been was 2nd and that was back in February (before Croatia went up to 1st)

Italy could do.very well both televote and juryvote and possible win 🎉

Honestly I cant see netherlands being in top 10 with the juries
I can see top 5 if they are VERY clever in what they do
yeaaaah, was waiting for your analysis!
So, the winners of 1988, 1989, and 1990 are leading the betting odds in that particular order.
Nice!
Also, people comment "It's time for a non -binary person to win the ESC" (?)
Are such things even possible, I mean, it sounds like they are on a mission to push him just because of his non -binary thing? Is that even possible?
I also read in comments that Italians snd Netherlands simply can't stand that guy Lasagna?
If all that is truth, I think after Amsterdam, it will be:
Swiss
Netherlands
Italy
Croatia, or even that France will be boosted , so ... that's my prediction considering the situation...
Appreciate the Swiss entry but im just not vibing with it and it doesnt invite me to listen to it again unlike some other entries.
Lol.... u r a delusional fool if u think croatia is coming top 3 in jury......
How on earth do you see Croatia being top 3 with the jury?? The only quality being that vocals are not so bad?
@@serbOgisha I explained it in the comment above. Kaarija was nearly 2nd in the jury vote with a less jury friendly song.
Also, Croatia is 2nd in the odds at the moment. The jury tends to vote by inertia and won’t penalize the biggest heavy fan favorites too much. They are guaranteed to come at least top 5.
I still don’t understand why Ukraine is so high I don’t like the song
So happy Slovenia is climbing.

Switzerland is probably the biggest grower on me this year, but I'm still rooting for Croatia. Last year I split my vote across a bunch of countries I like but I'm seriously considering just throwing everything at Croatia.
id love a Croatia win
Mans won even if he was third with the televote. On the other hand, Loreen would have won even if she had been fifth. So winners can also be lower than second in televote.
hmmm thats a slight oversimplification, if you take away those 60 points so that she is 5th in the televote, then you need to give them to somebody else. so she wouldnt be 1st then anymore.
but i get your fundamental point
Well of course Loreen won since the juries had already given her an unfair advantage, one that made it impossible for ayone else to win. 😔

Places 11-25: I mostly agree, except Finland and Norway, they are great songs. And Spain is also a good one (though not that good as Finland and Norway).
La mia preferita é la Svizzera

If the jury side heavy with either Italy or Switzerland then they will win
Joost in Amsterdam decides the sway which way though. Then we will know
I’m very excited to see what he’s like at the pre party. His creativity is insane so he’s definitely a front runner

Art is subjective, and that’s the beauty of esc.

yea i enjoyed that too, but generally the German staging doesnt elevate. And LOTL's staging was quite similar to the National Final
It was just too red. And I would have preferred them wearing their usual, black clothes. Also this year it won’t make a difference what they will be doing with the staging. And Isaak is not the type for fancy dresses anyways.

The top 3 could change next weekend at the pre-parties in Amsterdam and Stockholm when Joost Klein performs for the first time
Wishfull thinking.

France is 100% winning the juries. I think he has a better shot at winning than Netherlands, Belgium and Croatia. The bubble is underestimating him too much.
