- Apologies I didn't photograph changing the piston rings as it was getting dark and I was using a stip light.
Hi this is my Fiat Punto 1.2 8v ELX it has done 90k and the head gasket blown so no need to do a compression test on removing the cylinder head I noticed that cylinder 3 & 4 had broken piston rings and cylinder 2,3 & 4 burnt valve seats. So I decided to see if it could be saved due to the cost of parts, but after 3 days of hard work she runs better than ever I have owned the car for 5 years and she feels brand new. total cost of recovery home, gaskets, piston rings, bearings, oil and coolant £210. Helps that i'm in the trade and have contacts for parts.
the 8v engine. the pistons do not touch the valves.

No the crankshaft bolt is anti clockwise to unscrew.
is it easy to do 8v to 16v engine conversion?

30nm then turn 90 degrees on all bolts then repeat once more at 90 degrees

Hello, can you tell me if you adjusted the lifters? They have a stell coin on top that can be changed or I have to buy new ones?
The coin is called a shim. Depending on how much wear is on the cam lobes and shims will determine if you need the cam lobes reprofiling and if you will need new shims.
@@docker82 i have 0.45 and 0.55 on 3rd and 4th cylinder so I guess new shims will be fine.

It hesitate while accelerating.
And loose power on hills.
I checked spark plugs and plugs cables, theyre ok.
Air filter is ok too.
Any idea what could be the reason?
EGR valve? PCV valve? Or engine problem?
Any idea?

I had the same issues with this car and it was loss of compression between cylinder 3 and 4 so that's why I replaced the head gasket.

@@edgardodrai4256 if it's not too bad you could try Steel seal. Other than that you would need a new gasket. Try ebay.
