    Thank you Joshua for this review.
    We are happy to see you are making good use of our backpack for a long time now!
    Although it appears that you are using an old version of our Pitstop Pro; since 2020 we integrated the rain cover under the backpack, among other improvements we made.
    We invite you to check it out and hope you will like it!

      We all know full well that iFlight just blatantly ripped off your hard work and design. Anyone with any morals at all will buy your Pitstop Pro backpack and not give iFlight a dollar of their money for this rip-off clone.

    My logic in battery bags is, if I have the opportunity to get to the bag before it is completely engulfed in flames, I will launch it as far away from me and the rest of my gear as possible. I am not grabbing a single battery with my bare hands. Use a battery bag imo.

      I've had a LiPo fire in a LiPo bag with 5 or 6 4S packs in it and 100% this.
      I have photos of it from start to end and the difference in timestamps from when the first pack started smoking on my bench to the entire bag being a raging fire in my back yard was less than 6 minutes.
      Being able to safely grab the whole bag and literally sling it out the back door was the difference between the house smelling like a meth lab for a couple of days and the house burning down. Much harder to do when it's a loose battery pack popping off.

    I tried for a year to order the Torvol bag. Always out of stock. iFlight delivered their bag 15 days after I ordered it. So far, I am happy with the bag. I can carry 5 large drones (5-7 inch size - external), three smallish cinewoops (internal), two sets of DJI goggles, a DJI controller, and tones of batteries (plus spare props, tools, etc in the various pouches.

    Well done interesting review, but I am using my repurposed Lowepro camera bags, which I used to carry my SLRs and 600mm lens etc, the Trekker Pro AW11 and Dryzone, both are over 20 years old, and still going strong, no strap or stitching failures, the Trekker is big, lots of space , lots of webbing to strap to, comfortable to carry, lots of compartment options, includes WP cover built in and I see the price is comparable to the dedicated drone bags, but the durability is amazing, the Dryzone is small but 100% water proof and floats, I did have to replace the WP shell, after 10 years, but it’s still going strong and ideal for a whoop walk, Just a thought to share.

    I think that cloning is just apart of any commerce type industry, and most of the time it is a manufacturer making a cheap knock of of a name brand item, i.e. Supreme & Suprdlux/sufficient. However iflight has its own version of name brand in the hobby and a large selection of goods to choose from on the price spectrum. And although one line of iflight goods may be cheaper, the quality still seems to hold up as if it were still a premium item, of which the most commonly known is the xing and xing-e series of motors.
    So when it comes to the bag and it being a clone of the torvol bag, they may have taken liberties in cloning the good parts of a torvol bag and improved the rest of the bag based consumer feed back. Maybe torvol told ifilight that they could try and redesign the bag to upgrade it to meet customer demands, and bet them that they couldnt keep the cost down. Then Iflight answered with this version of the bag.
    Like you said, no one knows if the iflight bag can stand the test of time like the torvol, but if its anything like the parts that iflight makes. It will do the job well, especially for the price, cause i honestly believe that iflight would of charged a lot less if they thought it wouldnt.
    But my opinion is biased anyways cause i am an iflight fanboy anyways!

    The newer Stealth version of the pitstop pro has a zipper at the bottom of the bag which contains the rain cover. It is stitched into the pocket.

  • @DanthemanFPV
    @DanthemanFPV 3 года назад +6

    Regarding the Pitstop's work area:
    "Out in the field" can actually mean "out in the field". Personally, I'd say I use the tarp to kneel or sit on about 30% of the time. Also, I use the rain cover pretty often to keep the bag from getting dirty by laying the bag on top of it so that my shirt doesn't get messed up later on when it's on my back.

    I have the Torvol Pitstop Pro Bag, and I love it, but I have the same "complaints" as you.
    When it comes to which bag to use, you mention if one should punish iFlight for ripping off the Torvol, or if one should reward iFlight for improving on the Torvol.
    I on the other hand would look at it another way, although the outcome is the exact same.
    I would PUNISH Torvol for not releasing a better bag, and this is done by buying the iFlight.

    still seems to have a chunkier fabric.
    really not a fan of the Copycat bit.. but there are enough functional reasons to copy what is good,
    many components are similar size...
    I have the Pyro and Ethix... Keep everything in Pyro, just what I need in Ethix.
    wouldn't mind the middle. what I need, Plus.

    Thanks for the video! These bags seem pretty deep to fit the goggles/controller. Do they fit under the seat of a commercial airplane?

    Competition drives creativity and helps the market. Unfortunately, with iFlight copying things so similar it's not amazing. But now maybe torvol will come out with a next generation that blows us away.

    I think buying the new version of the Torvol for 20 bucks more would well reward their initial design efforts. In the end, iflight did not change that much to really deserve the word innovation.

  • @NuarStanger
    @NuarStanger 2 года назад

    Reward for sure. They listen to the feedback and improved while Torvol ignored the feedback and refused to put the effort into improving the bag.
    Just my opinion.

    Hi does any one have a long term review of the iFlight bag , keen to know how its holding up ?

  • @RonnyKing
    @RonnyKing 3 года назад +1

    Funny you should like the 3rd strap so much. I use the 2 straps on the Torvol bag to store 4 quads at once. That's only possible due to the wire-type straps. The straps on the iFlight wont allow for the configuration I use, so that would be a step down for me. That's a big deal for me. The quality build on the Torvol (type of stitches, strength of velcro etc) is another important factor. I do like the iFlight's way to use the flap's inside with the pouches. That's a nice upgrade. The lights are a nice addition. Not sure if it's worth the extra hassle though. I think we can let iFlight off the hook for copying the idea of the design. They waited long enough in my opinion. Good ideas get copied and in the end the consumer always wins. If I were to buy a bag now, I'd still buy the Torvol bag.

    Would one think the interior has enough room to modify compartments so it can carry DJI FPV and Avata inside along with controller and goggles? Can throw batts and other gear in the outlying areas I guess.

    I could never do a bag with the zipper opening from the bottom. Really the only time I need a bag is if I’m on a bike or motorcycle and I would always be nervous of stuff popping the bottom while riding, especially bouncing around while dirt biking to the flying spot

    They (whoever that is) say that copying is the sincerest form of flattery but in this business it's always been the fastest way to beat your competition, especially when you can do it for less. But that said, any company that wants to stay on top MUST be willing to seek out and make improvements on an on-going basis. Become complacent and lose market share. Every company that wants to be on top will take the best of the competitors and find ways to improve it. Most just hide behind slight design deviations to avoid legal challenges, which is something most of the overseas drone manufacturers laugh at. So what iFlight has done may be a ripoff but it's really no different than any other company in any other business.

    Just to note regarding the complaint about the iflight bag not opening up fully. The bag is not designed to be laid flat and opened out like the torvol. The iflight has a very sturdy square flat bottom with 4 rubber feet. This, and the whole construction of the bag indicates that it is meant to be always standing up. Then the way it opens makes total sense.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  2 года назад

      Respectfully, this is silly. If it's standing up, your stuff falls out. Of course you open it laying face down at least some of the time.

    Bouncing between the two for my first bag.. Don't like how the flap on the iflight opens downward, making that weird triangular empty space along the bottom of the bag. One of the zip puches on the inside of the major flap makes the pouch open upside down.. super odd. That said, $20 cheaper with a third strap and a lipo pouch sounds nice. Can't say i see myself using the kneeling mat on the torvol either. I'd rather carry a super small soft folding camping table and chair and not kneel on the ground while hiking, or work on my tailgate if i'm flying from right outside my car.
