My logic in battery bags is, if I have the opportunity to get to the bag before it is completely engulfed in flames, I will launch it as far away from me and the rest of my gear as possible. I am not grabbing a single battery with my bare hands. Use a battery bag imo.
Good point.
Hadn’t thought of that before
Probably best with multiple smaller battery bags then. 2, 3 for even 4.
I've had a LiPo fire in a LiPo bag with 5 or 6 4S packs in it and 100% this.
I have photos of it from start to end and the difference in timestamps from when the first pack started smoking on my bench to the entire bag being a raging fire in my back yard was less than 6 minutes.
Being able to safely grab the whole bag and literally sling it out the back door was the difference between the house smelling like a meth lab for a couple of days and the house burning down. Much harder to do when it's a loose battery pack popping off.
@Joseph Slaker I'm curious, did the packs spontaneously combust? Or were they charging/discharging?
Hey Joshua, if you are not using the lipo safe bag I think you should seriously consider testing it to see if it does offer some protection would be nice to see a comparison against other similar lipo safe bags.
Thank you Joshua for this review.
We are happy to see you are making good use of our backpack for a long time now!
Although it appears that you are using an old version of our Pitstop Pro; since 2020 we integrated the rain cover under the backpack, among other improvements we made.
We invite you to check it out and hope you will like it!
We all know full well that iFlight just blatantly ripped off your hard work and design. Anyone with any morals at all will buy your Pitstop Pro backpack and not give iFlight a dollar of their money for this rip-off clone.
Your backpacks aren't in stock anywhere.
@@BuSheeZy You don't say where you're located but Unmanned Tech in the UK have some and if they do then other vendors must also have some too.
@@BuSheeZy Hey there, they are back in stock in the US on our website. Check it out!
To order the bag into India is really hard. Will appreciate if you can do something to get the bag into India.
Joshua in the new pitstop pro the rain protection in actually outside(under)
And the magnet trey work😊
Duuuuuuuude, you have no idea about the help youst provided to me!!
I have that back for Month now and just a week ago I was desperately SEARCHING fot that cover and thought it lost. I was even writing Torvol I wanted to purchase a new one! But... There it is! The only place I did not search for it :-)
THIS... is a good day, thaks to you.
Recieve a hug, brother :-)
So that’s where my one is!!!
I tried for a year to order the Torvol bag. Always out of stock. iFlight delivered their bag 15 days after I ordered it. So far, I am happy with the bag. I can carry 5 large drones (5-7 inch size - external), three smallish cinewoops (internal), two sets of DJI goggles, a DJI controller, and tones of batteries (plus spare props, tools, etc in the various pouches.
For the torvol flap storage area, that is where I keep extra props. The side compartments are meant for extra hardware, wires, tape, and tools.
Thanks for going over the small but important parts like the stitches :)
That's the details that matter if you plan to have heavy gear on you and keep the thing for a couple of years.
Got my experience with a cheap "heavy duty" backpack giving up when it was needed the most 😅
I love your videos and respect how much time and experience it takes to do all this!! But, in the spirit of DIY/FPV, you can always find someone to sew the third strap or really anything you can imagine, including fixing things that ripped, tore off, fun patches, whatever!
Kudos to Iflight for paying attention to the community.👍
Right on Joshua 👍 it’s a great bag thanks brother.I think they should be rewarded
Reward, good made better plus price undercut a no brainer . I also like the look outside seems more stable shell . Great review thanks .
I've been looking for a bigger backpack! And had my eyes on the iFlight. Very nice review Joshua!
Btw you're looking great!
Thank you Joshua for this video, I'm using my Torvol Pro backpack and love it, definitely stick on it. Actually the rain cover is on bottom of mine in the little pouch/zipped room, so I can fully cover all of my stuff pretty easy in the rain. Happy Fly and hope to see you on the next Rampage!
I dunno why mine doesn't have it.
@@JoshuaBardwell because your bag is 2-3 years outdated.
Honestly I think I'll take a shot with the Iflight bag, but giving it a lil more time! Thanks JB as usual🤙🏼🤪
All parameters got into this review!perfect review JB!
Well done interesting review, but I am using my repurposed Lowepro camera bags, which I used to carry my SLRs and 600mm lens etc, the Trekker Pro AW11 and Dryzone, both are over 20 years old, and still going strong, no strap or stitching failures, the Trekker is big, lots of space , lots of webbing to strap to, comfortable to carry, lots of compartment options, includes WP cover built in and I see the price is comparable to the dedicated drone bags, but the durability is amazing, the Dryzone is small but 100% water proof and floats, I did have to replace the WP shell, after 10 years, but it’s still going strong and ideal for a whoop walk, Just a thought to share.
Fantastic point on the lipo batteries... 👍💯, Torvol is a great bag, but I am going to go for the iFlight just send it... 😉
the iflight bag looks really good !!
Can't wait to get it!
Thanks for your video, I am enlightened
I think that cloning is just apart of any commerce type industry, and most of the time it is a manufacturer making a cheap knock of of a name brand item, i.e. Supreme & Suprdlux/sufficient. However iflight has its own version of name brand in the hobby and a large selection of goods to choose from on the price spectrum. And although one line of iflight goods may be cheaper, the quality still seems to hold up as if it were still a premium item, of which the most commonly known is the xing and xing-e series of motors.
So when it comes to the bag and it being a clone of the torvol bag, they may have taken liberties in cloning the good parts of a torvol bag and improved the rest of the bag based consumer feed back. Maybe torvol told ifilight that they could try and redesign the bag to upgrade it to meet customer demands, and bet them that they couldnt keep the cost down. Then Iflight answered with this version of the bag.
Like you said, no one knows if the iflight bag can stand the test of time like the torvol, but if its anything like the parts that iflight makes. It will do the job well, especially for the price, cause i honestly believe that iflight would of charged a lot less if they thought it wouldnt.
But my opinion is biased anyways cause i am an iflight fanboy anyways!
My first iFlight product was the Chimera 7, and I love it. Everything about it seems quality.
Hi Josh I just like both of them. I just don't know how much I would use one. I think it would work out to carry my components better than the way I do now. I have a couple of cardboard boxes that I have separated one for tools and one for batteries. I would love to see some day someone to do a test of battery cases and see how it does with a battery on fire in them. Thanks again for the video.
Nice story, great picture!
Would be great if you could make a video comparing how different fpv backpacks fit the dji fpv drone. And if and how you can fit other controllers and quads with it.
love your vids. Got the torval backpack and love it. The iflight looks cheaper. You need to firetest the lipo bag.
Every company copies everything, from cars to motorcycles. I feel like they made the proper improvements from the other bag. Adding the lights was a nice touch. I maybe biased also because I just won a giveaway from Iflight lol Would like to purchase one of these though. Already clicked on your link!
On my torvol to take 3 quads I put one on each side with the large straps amd one on the front and if need be a 5 inch fits inside the torvol with props removed also the smaller cheeper torvol has a raincoat in the bottom outside compartment
Great Video!
hey! new end clip with the pup! nice ✌
I have a Torvol JB but I do like the new iflight version, especially the logo on the hard front.
Funny you should like the 3rd strap so much. I use the 2 straps on the Torvol bag to store 4 quads at once. That's only possible due to the wire-type straps. The straps on the iFlight wont allow for the configuration I use, so that would be a step down for me. That's a big deal for me. The quality build on the Torvol (type of stitches, strength of velcro etc) is another important factor. I do like the iFlight's way to use the flap's inside with the pouches. That's a nice upgrade. The lights are a nice addition. Not sure if it's worth the extra hassle though. I think we can let iFlight off the hook for copying the idea of the design. They waited long enough in my opinion. Good ideas get copied and in the end the consumer always wins. If I were to buy a bag now, I'd still buy the Torvol bag.
My favorite style of video JB . Ps I follow your TT . Ya seem alright 🤘🏼👍
I'm not here to watch the video (not now at least) but I wanna congrat you to the thumbnail. ticks every box ;) love how you hug the backpack :)
Thank you for putting up the awesome review. I recently got an Auline backpack from FPV. Its design is great and seems original. I love it. You may want to take a look at it.
He did a review back in April
Looks nice. I thought my home made fpv bag was great and now i see that it is just acceptable. I fly alot, before work, on lunch break and after work every day and honestly its getting annoying to have to unpack everything every time. It would be really nice to just grab my tx16s with the antenna on and not have to keep my goggles in a separate zipper case. All of that stuff is not a big deal but its something i use atleast 3x a day. Im still using mine for now but im gonna look at this bag in about 6 months to see how they are holding up for people.
The newer Stealth version of the pitstop pro has a zipper at the bottom of the bag which contains the rain cover. It is stitched into the pocket.
Can't wait to get this backpack! For me it'll be an upgrade from the lowebro and I like how iflight takes care of quality... trying not to be a fanboy tho 😇
Last time I saw you hug something like that backpack, it was your blanky! 🤪
Great video Josh. Please let us know if it seems ok after you've used the new iFlight bag. I'm feeling towards the iFlight bag, and I like the brand
Really nice review
My book bag from high school 35yrs ago still working for me except no Velcro only draw back though
Hi JB! I will be waiting for the V2 bag after iFlight taking your criticism :)
New outro, nice.
and remember it's the first bag from iflight, like all a new supplychain to setup, negociate with new supplier in a area that they don't know, also see if the customers will like this bag and iflight is not such huge multinational company so it's always risky, and to go on a base as the torvol, it might make the challenge a bit safer.
Thanks for sharing the video
Carrying your third drone on your back?! #firstworldproblem
Keep up the good work Joshua, I really like your content :-D
I use a carboard box for my quads and tools, a laptop bag for batteries and my laptop, and a Harbor Freight Pelican copy case for my radio and goggles.
So this is goin to be my new backpack i guess :) JB lookin good btw :D
Nice I'm looking for a drone bag perfect timing
Testing that lipo bag would be a cool video!!!
Great video thank u
thanks!
Thanks for the video! These bags seem pretty deep to fit the goggles/controller. Do they fit under the seat of a commercial airplane?
Hi does any one have a long term review of the iFlight bag , keen to know how its holding up ?
I ended up getting the RDQ backpack. It came with a bad zipper but I kept it anyway. It lasted a year before the carry handle and the shoulder straps started ripping off. The stitching failed.
I wish I could afford to geek out like JB!
What I like about all my Torval stuff is the quality of the materials,
still seems to have a chunkier fabric.
really not a fan of the Copycat bit.. but there are enough functional reasons to copy what is good,
many components are similar size...
I have the Pyro and Ethix... Keep everything in Pyro, just what I need in Ethix.
wouldn't mind the middle. what I need, Plus.
I'm still leaning Torval here...
maybe hands on would change my mind.
With the LED and styling,
I think it's different enough and for a slightly different market.
You can stretch the waist strap to the front, and makes it into the fourth strap.
Regarding the Torvol Pitstop Pro: Magnetic tray works... so long as your nuts & screws aren't aluminum. 👍🏼
Im loving the iflight bag I just took it out on an adventure filming base jumpers its holding up well to the elements it got so dirty
my old bag finally went kaput so i ordered the iflight bag. just transferred my stuff over from the old bag and have plenty of room left for growth
Joshua, there is a rain cover on the outside of the Torvol Pro
It came with 2 hard sides.. but doesnt velcro. Are this to make rhe bag stiff and use without dividers
Hey Joshua, does any of this backpack has a laptop "bumper" (protector) on the bottom of pocket?
Reinforced stitch that you are pointing out is called a Bar Tack, in the industry.
Yay I found a new backpack for my fpv journey! Great stuff!
I’ve got the torvol pro and love it
That one is a beast Mikey lol! I'll take a look at it too!
Might get the rdq bag
Nice bags to fit lot of batteries ;)
are both bags similier in measurments from the inside
I think the lighting unit is coming later - you may have ordered it and they've split the shipment.
Nice review but dang at close to $200 I will stick with my RDQ backpack. I really like it and it holds all my stuff.
Regarding the Pitstop's work area:
"Out in the field" can actually mean "out in the field". Personally, I'd say I use the tarp to kneel or sit on about 30% of the time. Also, I use the rain cover pretty often to keep the bag from getting dirty by laying the bag on top of it so that my shirt doesn't get messed up later on when it's on my back.
Nice hacks.
I don't know how many times the flap has come in handy, even for just a launch/landing area when the ground is wet.
Thanks for the review Joshua. I already own the *TORVOL* bag and love it! I also really like the way the TORVOL bag looks (love the black/yellow coloring & basic overall design). If it ain't broke...don't fix it! Appreciate the review though...
Would one think the interior has enough room to modify compartments so it can carry DJI FPV and Avata inside along with controller and goggles? Can throw batts and other gear in the outlying areas I guess.
Hi dude, nice video, is this one the Torval pitstop pro? I looking for one in the same size.
How is the bag holding up today?
So... it's been a year since anyone commented on the bag. Did it hold up? Did it fall apart?
Hey Joshua
I am a quite new FPV pilot, with only a few months under my belt.
I have the Torvol Pitstop Pro Bag, and I love it, but I have the same "complaints" as you.
When it comes to which bag to use, you mention if one should punish iFlight for ripping off the Torvol, or if one should reward iFlight for improving on the Torvol.
I on the other hand would look at it another way, although the outcome is the exact same.
I would PUNISH Torvol for not releasing a better bag, and this is done by buying the iFlight.
My 2 cents :)
Great video as always. Keep up the great work, it really helps newbies like myself.
Best Regards from Denmark.
I wonder what Torvol did to you to deserve your punishment.
What backpack are you using at the moment? Im planning on buying one aswell
Any updated thoughts after using it for awhile?
How much KV does the bag have? Is it a 4S or 6S?
Was there a follow up on the iFlight Mr B?
Torvol! Simply for the original idea and its amazing quality. I don't need the LED's or the third strap. Stitching could be an issue but time will tell. I love Torvol's battery bags as well, even though they have to be purchased seperately at extra cost.
You had me wanting the iFlight bag until you detailed the stitching. Thanks for that. :)
Yea. That looks like it is single use ...
@@CoastlForest Tell us how it goes. My oppinion about iFlight stitching? It is bad to do it that way. Seen it many times. That kind of stitching mangles the fabric. It will just rip off.
Mannnnnn you are just a fn great guy .. some people would love to meet the president or Michael Jordan or whatever … my dream would be to met you !
Thanks for everything
Nice
Quads should be shown off on the outside of the bag because almost every one of ours is different and should never be stored inside imo. Plus it's nice when you show up to a spot you can just unclip them and set all that gnarlyness aside right away.
I always use a separate 🔋 Bag for all Lipo’s , because of 🔥 I DON’T WANT TO LOSE MY FPV GEAR!
The type of stitching used on the strap is called a Bar Tack. You see them often on climbing equipment.
Edit: those zippers are water resistant. Waterproof zippers are a PITA.
Do you mean, water resistant zippers are a pita? Or do you mean like you wrote the zippers are water resistant, luckily not water proof because proof is a pita, resistant is not?
@@MeshJedi waterproof zippers are a pain to use. They only get used where nothing else will do the job.
@@zdm5290 yes. Just water proof and water resistant are different
@@MeshJedi I know. That's why I made the distinction.
i use a 50cal ammo box...this feeling when you show up with this ammo box...and the good thing, it can handle like 500 lipos.
it seems like a smart choice from iFlight, why reinvent the wheel when you can improve it
I want a bag that hides the quad. You can take near any bag and lash a quad to it. When walking around in public it's not always prudent to have it exposed where it might get stolen or even damaged. Personally I need something enclosed with rigid propeller protection.
Are you going to review the Pyrodrone pyropak sport fpv backpack which came out last week?
Yep. I have it and am working on the review.
Is there any chance I can get you to help me with a problem I am having with a brand new crown hd and caddix vista. All of your videos, and others don't explain the settings issue I have. I have been going at this for almost 20 hrs total, and am no closer to a fix. Please lmk. Love the way you go through things.
Send him an email or message him.
Hey Joshua!
Thanks again for a great review/comparison.
The question is: Better than the Auline?
Cheers from New Zealand and Kia Kaha Joshua!!!
Personally I like the iFlight bag best over AuLine.
Fantastic review, Joshua! 😃
I still have the RealACC backpack and it's still great. No issues at all. But, between those two I would go to the iFlight. Because it seems much better!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Your torvol is from old day's batches, new ones has all goodies now available, like extra pocket at the bottom, bigger zippers, and better battery bag, etc. AND now available in Stealth edition, neat, cheaper =)
Yes, the new TORVOL is better!! I love how people said only what they want to make others buy some specific products..... It all comes to "I need to get the new one, it is better" LOL
I could never do a bag with the zipper opening from the bottom. Really the only time I need a bag is if I’m on a bike or motorcycle and I would always be nervous of stuff popping the bottom while riding, especially bouncing around while dirt biking to the flying spot
Nice pack I’m sold air2 s army out
All this time I really thought you named your dog after the FC. 🤣
