CORRECTION: The Torvol Pitstop Pro is only $200 not $300 like I say in the intro. What do you think of the RDQ FPV backpack? Is it worth $80? Would you take the RDQ pack for $80 or would you spend more on a higher end product?
When I opened my Torvol Pitstop Pro just over a week ago, there was a free Torvol hat inside :) Before that the first thing I noticed was how heavy the backpack was with nothing inside! So comfortable on your back though. I agree on the reason for the need of FPV backpacks, I did a lot of looking at many other types of cheaper backpack, like ones designed for fishers, builders, electricans etc. but nothing 'worked', there would always be compromises, so I bought a Torvol.
torvol makes some great stuff, but budget is a big concern. The regular pitstop can't hold a laptop which is why I don't own one yet. They look really cool though, the foldout workstation is really neat. although, I might regret not picking a better backpack later down the line. I don't know. I only own 2 quads, even though I've been into planes for years.
Is it just me, or is the audio sync off during the intro? I love the quirkines tho. It’s fun. molle = “molly”, but I don’t remember the acronym off hand.
Funny that I've spent £80 on my Torvol. Mine is the little brother but surely fits all my needs. I fly 2 x 5'' and 2 x 3' quads + field charger + tools + batteries + spare props.
It sounds like both backpacks represent good value. I own a Torvol and I love it. However, I would also be happy with a RDQ backpack, and I think the people saying that they would never spend $200 on a backpack would also be thrilled with the RDQ backpack. Great review.
and then there's me, buying a second hand but brand new photography backpack for $20, fits everything you need inside, you can arrange the main pocket however you wish and just put one or two quads on the ousdie with straps.
I just received the race day quads backpack. Still being new into the hobby and on my third build do to crashing hard on my first 2 builds it works great for me. Use the JB F4 on all my builds so far. Just went from Eachine 800D to the Attitude v5. Just got the Frsky x lite pro to go with my qx7. It does what I need it to do for what I have now. Thanks for all your videos. You and many others have helped me get flying plus this hobby has taught me loads of other knowledge that apply to many other things that are common in everyday use.
New to FPV too. Have basically the same setup. F4 board and eachine 800d. How do u like the FS At V5? I’m not digging the box type anymore. Tabs on the 800 dig into my cheeks and the battery life isn’t great.
I'm still getting them all set up. Getting things focused. Learning where all the buttons are and what they do. Once I go fly a few times with them will be easier and second nature. From my short time of having them on compared to the massive Eachine's. I'm liking the feel and comfort. The Eachine's aren't bad from my little experience into the hobby. The longer in it and more things I experience for myself the better I can speak on these things.
i'm still on 30L tactical backpacks, the endless versatility the light weight and the price tag, the torvol looks great but its big, more than a couple of miless would be a real endurance feat. a real test would be hiking up to the ridge, its great to hike around and look for cool spots to fly.
im out here using my 5th grade backpack ahah. got my remote and goggles in cases and my quad strapped to the outside with the skateboard straps the bag came with. Its perfect
I love my Torvol, best bag I've owned. I understand the market for a budget bag but if you really want something that's going to last save and get the Torvol.
I literally just got my RDQ bag yesterday. My first thing I notice overall is the size. I’m a bigger guy, so it feels a bit small for me, but so far it seems to do the job well!!
Honestly, I'd suggest getting a lowepro cs400 if you travel a ton. It's a hard case, really massive, and I got mine on ebay for 30 bucks... I now just use it for storage for everything I own that's quad related. I use my photography backpack for my camera gear and then use the cs400 in sling mode for my drone.
RDQ FPV backpack is ALREADY SOLD OUT. I'm didn't preorder but glad I bought mine once they were in stock a little over a week ago. This thing is amazing for the price! I can put my 7" and 5" quad on the back using straps, a tiny whoop in the main compartment along with goggles, transmitter, and batteries. I can zip up the cover to the main compartment then slide a cinewhoop in there and close it up. Laptop in the bottom compartment, tools in the front along with a portable smart charger I can hook to my car battery. Donezo. No need to spend $300 unless you need to pack some clothes in there. But that's what regular luggage is for!
Idk if anyone mentioned but I just bought it and they updated the bag! There is a zipper on the pouches that were problematic! And if you feel this isn't enough then geeeeeeeez, I got 3 drones, all batteries, chargers, spare parts, goggles, everything basically, in this bag.
I bought the Torvol Pitstop Pro backback, and after seeing this review i'm even more convinced that i did the right choice. I carry stuff for more than1500$ when i fly and i want to have the best and most protective bag i can get! You even get a free nametag with your Torvol Pitstop Pro :P
I appreciate when there are less expensive items on the FPV accessories. It helps me to spend more money on high quality quads, goggles, receiver's, which I think improve my experience. Great video as always!
I still love my lowe pro guard bp x3. I think it’s even better then the torvol because a 5” quad can stay inside the bag which is great for travelling 👍🏻 thanks for the video Joshua 👍🏻
I have the RDQ back pack.. been using it for a couple weeks now.. it's ok. Fits almost everything. I dont even have all the pouches filled.. most of them are empty . CONS: 1..it's already starting to tear and RIP at the outside seams. 2.. wish it was a little deeper in Main compartment so I could turn jumper T16 tx on side.. would give a lot more room for stuff. Definitely needs to be a few inches deeper in main compartment. 3.. not sure a safe place to put extra props .. in the heat with as tight as back is closed up it will crush deform the props.. 3.. the place on top for glasses.. get in the way of using inside pouch.. hard to get into. 4. Bottom of bag could use rubber strip or cushion . Especially for laptop section. Pro.. 1 .. love the straps and all the strap options on the outside.. 2. Hooks and straps. The loops on outside for zippers. 3. All the pouches inside clear. 4. Laptop pouch . 5. Comfortable Still ongoing use and testing.
I was unboxing my RDQ backpack and watching your vid lol., Fix my xlite s, dji goggles, 12 batteries pack, tools for prop removal, extra props, extra memory card, computer, USB cables, transtec beetle and chasers 138 hd quads inside the backpack and still have some empty room for extras. Happy and just hope it last for few years.
Looks like a decent pack for the price, I’ve been using a lowpro BPX2 for nearly 3 years and it’s been amazing, so much better than struggling with a regular backpack.
I just used the race day quads backpack for a 5 day camping trip and I love it. Its super compact and stores everything I need in a really organized way.
I got the RDQ backpack a couple weeks ago and for $80 it’s great! I consider myself a backpack snob and this one is well thought-out. It’s not as big as some other packs, but for the amount of gear I carry it’s perfect.
It is kinda small but holds everything I need even with my spektrum radio at the top of the pack so if I drop the pack it’s the last thing to hit the ground. I agree with you though, the tool compartment is a very thin material that is not going to last long. I should have bought the Torvol. RDQ is 20 minutes away from me and they have great customer service.
I use the un-zippered pocket in the main compartment for a small tool kit (the kwadbox one) and it doesn't fly out when I flip it open. I use the built-in "tool" spots for antennas.
I got my RDQ bag last month... and for 80$ its worth it. I have the jumper T12 which saves me a ton of room in the main compartment. The pouches that dont zipper are annoying but not the end of the world for my setup. one thing i dont like are the molle straps, they face horizontal. most molly pouches will have vertical straps. Size is also my next concern. if they made it bigger and kept it 100-125$ this bag would be a flagship. i think it deserves an A- or B+
RDQ bag is nice for the price but, I agree with the lack of zippers on the pockets....I don't like my stuff falling out because when you're flying out and about you don't always have a nice flat spot too set up.
I feel exactly same w regards to the tools. Make something that can become separate from the bag, so u can take all ur tools out and use them anywhere, Without having to dig around. I like the torvol since it has the workspace flap and magnetic tool tray. But for he money, it seems like a nice pack. I may just get one.. Just my 2c. Another great video from J B... THANK YOU
I have the Torvol Pitstop and would love to have a few extra external mounting points. RDQ have made a great option but I don't like the Idea of only fixing quads externally. Especially when you're trying to keep a lower profile. Also flipping your quads into the dirt to open your bag, no thanks. I'll stick with my Torvol for now. Thanks JB informative as always.
I have the pitstop pro from Torvol, but my wife bought it for me for mt B-day last year. When you put the battery bag (which is a must) your looking at about $250ish. I love it. Really happy with it, but $250 you can buy a good BNF. I'll never have to buy another backpack again but if it wasn't a gift I'd probably be happy with that RDQ bag. I would just do some modifications on the compartments that don't zip up with some velcro and some needle and thread. For $80 bucks it looks like it's worth every penny. If you know your gonna be into FPV for a long time or forever then buy once cry once. If fpv is like a weekend thing or you just can't get over that Torvol cost it looks like that RDQ bag is Just fine and with a little time to seal up those open compartments with $10 of velcro you'll have no regrets.
Totally agree about pocket with no zipper also having most things accessible at once us very nice. 1st Back pack was $40 worked great but zippers did not last (1 year). Now have the $100 Torvol love it so far!
My $50 realacc Banggood bang is the best bag you could ever use for the money never had a drama I have 3 of them now and they take an absolute beating. I can't see the reason for a more expensive one.
Element skate bag works awesome. Board straps keep quads and other stuff perfect. Its cheap, comfortable and light. Had mine left over from skater days but they are still around and cheap from skate shops.
I just waited and got my lowepro bpx3 for $60 on amazon. It was on sale for black friday 2 years ago. Just put velcro on the inside pocket when you open the bag
Alright, the bag is decent. However, as a backpack connoisseur I would probably look at some of the Vanquest backpacks. They cater to expensive camera equipment and come well padded and highly customizable. Tons of backpacks clamshell open like that. The clear plastic sleeves Will likely degrade over time also.
I use an "AmazonBasics Backpack for SLR/DSLR Camera and Accessories - 11 x 6 x 15 Inches, Black" backpack and it works very well for me. It costs $30 and has good padding and a breast and waist strap. It fits easily one 5" (maybe even two) quad(s) on the outside. Some googles + Taranis QX7 (now a Tango 2 in a hard case) about 8-12 4S Lipos + LiPo checker and cases with screws and other replacement stuff. I put props into the two transparent compartments on the inside. In the outer compartment, I have some tools in a flat pouch. Then there is a flat water bottle on the side. The pocket on the left carries 20 meters thin rope and a carabiner as weight and one on the right has my Insta360 GO / or just the charging case. The additional zipper compartment usually takes my phone and could carry a tablet. I also added a case with a full-sized (assembling) camping chair below the backpack.
I have a few concerns with that RDQ backpack. That transparent plasticy stuff on the inside reduces the life of the bag because that shit is the first to degrade over long periods of time. Additionally, can't put a quad inside. I have the quadguard BP2 and I can fit like 5 quads in it (mixed sizes), 2 goggles, my Horus X10 transmitter, batteries, tools, and tons of replacement props. Overall, looks like a good backpack for the price.
I've had the rdq bag for about 3weeks now and I fricken love it. It works perfect for my quad stuff. After watching this video, I'm definitely going to rearrange it though as I now see the way I have it isn't convenient
Maybe, just maybe that zipper less compartment is for cables usb etc or perhaps a helipad , they could’ve added a flap with some Velcro to hold securely your tools. If I didn’t know there was more fpv bags then RDQ bag would’ve been my choice. I’ll explore my options before I invest in a decent bag. RDQ seems decent enough though
Ive had mine for about a month and im happy with it. It replaced two normal backpacks i was using to carry around my quad stuff and there was no way i was going to spend 200 or even 300 dollars for a backpack. Id much rather spend that money on stuff that lets me fly :)
Had the RDQ backpack for a couple of weeks. I love it. As far as the flipping from main compartment to tool area....for me once I get the googles and radio out of the main area I don't need to go back to it until i am packing up for home.
I know I'm gonna sound cheap but for my rc cars /trucks I use a see through bag that bedding comes in 👍 and I love it 😀I can see everything from the outside but it's only good for that it definitely would work for quad stuff but hey 😋 I have ocd so I know I would go crazy if my tools and stuff fell out everytime I opened the bag lol and yes I would DEFINITELY want my tools in a separate bag for sure....JB could have you buy a race horse with a wooden leg!!!! 🤣 just the best reviews on ANYTHING!!!!!👍oh almost forgot.....you can also use the backpack to carry cute babies 😊✌
Just add a little bit of velcro to those open pockets. It costs nothing and will keep everything inside while keeping it easier to pop open than a full zipper
Good review. Absolutely, separate bag for tools. newbeedrone has a great one with some room for your extras. I have the smaller Torvol pit stop bag only for local use or limited travel. Long trips I have an incredible Shimoda travel bag. I can put a quad/mavic pro 2, mirrorless camera, all gear extras and travel cloths for the trip. All carry on...ONE STOP...no troublesome checked bag bullshit (lost/delayed). Then, when I get to location, I pick-up a cheap day pack for daily fly adventures. Btw...your intro bit is 3-4 frames outta sync.
You've become a great resource and funny too ! I'm back into this hobby after many years off. I remember your first videos. They just get better and better. Nice pose btw. lol
Where's the props? As soon as I saw that you can't file your gear vertically like the Torvol or a Helipak, it was over for me. If you can file your stuff in vertically, you can do things like not take your antennas off your goggles, you get SO MUCH more room. IMO that alone is worth upgrading for personally.
on the two with no zipper maybe put a popper or two easy to fit and will work great as always joshua great vid ive always liked race day kwads stuff alot have a great day bro
I'm excited about this $80 backpack. Not because it would be a replacement for my ThinkTank Helipak. The RDQ bag seems more comparable to the ThinkTank Session. I imagine the Session is a higher quality bag, but it sure looks like the RDQ bag is more capable, for sure. I use a $30 AmazonBasics DSLR backpack for my quads when I go out riding my electric unicycle. I usually bring one quad and maybe 3 batteries. This would be a huge upgrade in potential capacity for those rides, but it might also be problematic, because the RDQ bag would encourage me to carry more stuff I don't need! That's a conundrum.
Dang that intro musthave set you in tears editing it lol I just got my torvol pro backpack, i payed 180 and it was not on sale or something ^^ I just came from an 'cheaper' bag and i would have never thought about spending 180 on a bag but you can see in every little part of the bag where the money goos.. rdq bag looks nice tho. Yet i would still get an diffrent bag then, the realacc bag is really nice ^^ and half the price of the rdq bag 🤔
I bought a 40$ mil-tec backpack, a camping mat, some duct tape, and some velcro tape and made my own custom camera/drone backpack. It has loads of room and molle all over so u can attach whatever u want.
I own both those backpack both are ripped. Rdq rip the first day I had it and the torvol bag lasted a year-and-a-half in the zipper broke. Think tank is my new go-to backpack
Can't believe you got it all in there for the size difference, personally I saved up for a few years to long and got my self the thinktank airport helipak and to be honest its huge but wen it comes to everything I need in one bag it's got me covered and I can't see being without it after having one so if you need a right now bag or one that will last a good while go for it if you want one you'll never outgrow spent the extra money and remember it will pay for its self with time trust me ! ! ! 🥃cheers🍻
I am concerned about damaging the gimbals on my DJI radio in the RDQ backpack. Do you know if you can get DJI gimbal protectors/guards. That would make laying the radio in the flat configuration in the backpack safer,
I chose the Torvol Pitstop non pro for 85€. i only fly sub 250g quads so i dont need to mount them outside. If i some day whish to mount quads outside of the bag, iam sure I'll find a cheap way to do so on the non pro ;).
The molle webhing gives you so many options to attach more pouches to the outside. I would think a dedicated tool pouch and maybe a medical first aid pouch would be good add ons.
I got the rdq fits my need, I got tango 2 and I have it with dji and HDO2 in the main compartment plus the batteries no problem I like that it is more compact
Can you use your RUclips influencer celebrity status to make a product request to DJI? I think the goggles would really benefit from a PIP (picture in picture) display of the analog input. The hardware should be capable, it's only 480i with no decoding needed. Can you imagine the possibilities for a second video feed! Landing/Airdrop views, rear view mirror, tandem flying second pilot perspective (see what the other pilots craft is doing) granted it's in 480i but for the screen area to be used that's perfect...
CORRECTION: The Torvol Pitstop Pro is only $200 not $300 like I say in the intro. What do you think of the RDQ FPV backpack? Is it worth $80? Would you take the RDQ pack for $80 or would you spend more on a higher end product?
Joshua Bardwell man I’m faster than bardwell?
But I can pin my own comment.
I would get the $80 RDQ fpv bag, it gives me space for my need
RDQ looks like a nice bag. I am glad I went for the Ethix bag. It’s amazing.
Could've re-shot that...
I love that you are so weird sometimes 😂
You are hilarious. You, are unique and special, and you pulled it off!
I just got over the shock of seeing Joshua seducing some backpacks on the floor. now I can watch the vid.
Man I thought I was weird all by myself for a minute there. D: Thank you!
That's so cool that RDQ listened and added the zipper on the upper internal compartment. Well done.
When I opened my Torvol Pitstop Pro just over a week ago, there was a free Torvol hat inside :)

I saw it too
Modular Lightweight Loadcarrying Equipment. Introduced by NATO
molle like the drugs? :'D

Link and/or name of it bro
Create a vid on how you set it up! I'd love to see how you configured it

I love my Torvol, best bag I've owned. I understand the market for a budget bag but if you really want something that's going to last save and get the Torvol.
I have trovol 20l and its superb , only 40$ !!!!
Molle loops are amazing for quads. I loop the battery strap through it to hold the quads on.
Most government issued bags for us work very well as quad bags.
I literally just got my RDQ bag yesterday. My first thing I notice overall is the size. I’m a bigger guy, so it feels a bit small for me, but so far it seems to do the job well!!

I have the RDQ and I like it better than Torvol due to the light weight. I like it better than the ETHiX backpack.

I chose the heavy duty supermarket bag. 40 lipos, 4 or 5 quads, goggles, tx, props, tools. It cost $2 two years ago and it's still going strong!!!
So often I use 3M Dual Lock to replace zipperless pockets...on the cheap...8)
Nice review!

I love mine too. Great bag 🎒
I just looked this bag up on Amazon, its $300, how did you get one for $60?
Having all the tools in a small bag makes it easier to pull them out to put them in checked luggage to avoid issues with TSA or security
It looks like RDQ added zippers to all of the pouches.
Thats the on on US Amazon: www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Backpack-DSLR-Cameras-Accessories/dp/B002VPE1WK/
Ordered it yesterday! I'll let you know!
My favorite bag consists of my passenger side seat and a grocery bag for batteries, props, and goggles
Ive had mine for about a month and im happy with it. It replaced two normal backpacks i was using to carry around my quad stuff and there was no way i was going to spend 200 or even 300 dollars for a backpack. Id much rather spend that money on stuff that lets me fly :)
Joshua does the little guy fly yet? You know he is gonna have an awesome set up. Nice job with the vid.
just got my rdq backpack today, returning it for a The Torvol Quad PITSTOP. its not deep enough. i want to be able to fit my transmitter on its side.
Had the RDQ backpack for a couple of weeks. I love it. As far as the flipping from main compartment to tool area....for me once I get the googles and radio out of the main area I don't need to go back to it until i am packing up for home.
I do like this bag, I don't own it but I would like the open pockets to be zippered. Still a great bag IMHO.
Still very happy with my RDQ backpack btw! it's been about 6 months
The end of the video is the best
Bro who else laughed at Joshua being intentionally violent with the zippers? 🤣🤣🤣
I got the URUAV bag for around 30/40$ and i am really happy with it
Good review.
I may just sell my BPX2 and go with the RDQ pack. Maybe.......Great review as always!
Dang that intro musthave set you in tears editing it lol
I just got my torvol pro backpack, i payed 180 and it was not on sale or something ^^
I just came from an 'cheaper' bag and i would have never thought about spending 180 on a bag but you can see in every little part of the bag where the money goos.. rdq bag looks nice tho. Yet i would still get an diffrent bag then, the realacc bag is really nice ^^ and half the price of the rdq bag 🤔
you are the best Mr Joshua Bardwell
My wife walked in while you were on the floor with the backpacks, and I quote said "Wtf, is this how drone pilots go?".
I bought a 40$ mil-tec backpack, a camping mat, some duct tape, and some velcro tape and made my own custom camera/drone backpack. It has loads of room and molle all over so u can attach whatever u want.
An incredible amount of tool storage considering how simple quads are to assemble and work on...
Dude I love the intro. Super cool Josh
“The black helicopters are watching me” 🤣🤣🤣
That spread eagle with the arched foot!!!!! Hahahahahahahahaaha
I own both those backpack both are ripped. Rdq rip the first day I had it and the torvol bag lasted a year-and-a-half in the zipper broke. Think tank is my new go-to backpack
You should do a vid of all the tools you carry and why.
With my budget, I'd get the RDQ backpack. I have the URUAV one but after seeing this one, this will work out for me. Excellent review Joshua!!
Another great review JB thank you I feel the RDQ back pack is adequate for the job and I'm a sucker for that price
🥃cheers🍻
Rdq should add those 2 zippers before selling it . Looks decent for the price
I am concerned about damaging the gimbals on my DJI radio in the RDQ backpack. Do you know if you can get DJI gimbal protectors/guards. That would make laying the radio in the flat configuration in the backpack safer,
I'm sure there is someone who would consider making some for you if there aren't any already. Brain3d and Kwad3d both print
The transparent pouches are genius
I have had audio issues recently too!
Hahahahahaha!!!! Your killing me tonight bro!!!! I not sure if I want to know what's in your backback!!!🤣🤣🤣
Thank u Josh! Excellent effort! Good thinking all around the backpack!
I got the rdq fits my need, I got tango 2 and I have it with dji and HDO2 in the main compartment plus the batteries no problem I like that it is more compact
Velcro for the pouches with no zipper
Can you use your RUclips influencer celebrity status to make a product request to DJI? I think the goggles would really benefit from a PIP (picture in picture) display of the analog input. The hardware should be capable, it's only 480i with no decoding needed. Can you imagine the possibilities for a second video feed! Landing/Airdrop views, rear view mirror, tandem flying second pilot perspective (see what the other pilots craft is doing) granted it's in 480i but for the screen area to be used that's perfect...
Most of us have analog cams and receivers gathering dust. 5-8 grams wouldn't even hurt a sub 250g to carry.
Nice JB but expensive is class and stylish.
I got tired of having a bunch of backpacks so I took my Oakley Kitchen Sink and inserted foam separators.
