Thank you for this detailed video, probably one of the first 2025 Civic Si video.
When uploaded up til today, i still have the first few uploads on the new 25! Thank you so much for watching the content i hope you enjoyed it!
Thank you for making this video! Looking to purchase a 2025 Si by the end of this year, and you've been the first one to make personal videos on the car. Greatly appreciated!!
I'm glad I could help! Also, so far i have been the first to do actual walkthroughs and drives in the '25, and I appreciate you subscribing and enjoying all the content so far! I hope you get yours asap, you're gonna love it!
The Si finally gets a coolant temp gage..
It sure does, glad it does! However eventually when I get into tuning with the vehicle as I have with all my past Hondas, ill have displayed temps/pressures on Tunerview.
That should be a must for all cars.
@@johnnybravo5044 I 120% agree here, all cars should have the normal operational views of coolant temp, oil temp/pres, voltage, and boost pressure (if it applies)
This should be the norm just as a tach and speedo is the norm.
@@TheOGBurrza I'm sure you know what you're doing but think real hard about tuning that 1.5l motor.
@@DMA-i8w Proper tuning with a trusted professional, providing data logs and getting revisions on a tune file typically do just fine on these engines, its the people doing crap mods, shelf tunes, running to much boost and having crap fuel tables what trash these engines. A pro tune and quality INSTALLED mods do just fine, had a mostly full bolt on '22 on 25lbs for 18k miles, without a single hick-up, Live data logs showed nothing but flawless specs.
Wow, that voice recognition is way smarter than my 2022!
I have a 24' SGP Si... I'm from Canada so I have a lot of these features but I love the usb-c connectivity you guys get as well as the built in google. Enjoy the Si, it's my first manual car and I LOVE it
Yeah i couldn't agree more! I've owned hundreds of cars over the years, and this chassis takes the cake for me, i've owned slow cars and fast car's of all kinds, i share a special love for the FE1 chassis. Im happy to hear you are enjoying your car! (i love the sonic color fyi) I will also be posting some new stuff here in a few days :)!
Love my fog lights.
i definitely love fog lights, ran them for years in soo many cars, especially with yellow/amber, gives the best JDM vibes, im curious to see if inside the lower grill, in the future, a set might be able to be retrofitted and actually look good? I might even take on the task myself!
Thanks for the information I like the changes on the '25 model looking forward to see the pov videos.
Absolutely glad i could be helpful with info! I have one driving POV up, but will have some more coming with a night drive up here in a few days!
I now see this video and it's in landscape mode haha. I'm soooo excited to watch this review. Thank you bro!
I really hope you enjoy it! Also posted a POV short driving video to give a glimpse of driving, plenty more to come soon! Let me know what you think!
@TheOGBurrza Thank you. I'll watch that POV video too!
Is this shot at the Bolivar dam? I'm 10 minutes away ... I have a 2020 blue SI literally going to the dealer today to talk about getting a 25. Your videos are the only real world ones out there. Keep it up I can't find many locally to check out in person!!
Get at me soon and maybe we can link up, no problem! I am so far the first with this kind of content for the new 25 SI I'm excited to be the first. This also was shot at the dam, Boliver dam has always been one of my favorite places in NE Ohio! I live nearby it.
@@TheOGBurrza sounds good. Trying to locate a urban gray Pearl. Not many out there yet!! Hopefully my dealer can come up with one. They just got allocated a type r so he's not holding his breath on being able to grab a brand new SI as well!! I'll be watching all your videos.👌🏻
@@Honda450r14 Appreciate you man! The 25 Si's are hard to get they will only have so many built this year, tax time will likely be more availability, I wanted the new Urban gray pearl but wasn't wanting to wait until Feb-March.
I didn't see satellite radio when you went through the radio settings that seems strange.
Man I wish the hood was down for this video. I can’t really see how it looks with the hood up
Definitely check out all my other videos for more views! :)
I like that the Sport and Si don't share the same rims. Love the gauge with shift light plus a little more power will be great 220 to 230hp.
I agree, the step up from sport to SI includes a lot more features and changes to set it apart, and i wish they would have made a little more power factory, but thankfully a few simple bolt ons with even a conservative tune can prove to make easily 250+ hp to the tire. Enough to have fun in a daily family sedan!
@@TheOGBurrzacan the stock clutch handle 250 though?
Nice review. There was a very interesting article comparing the 2022-23 Canadian spec Si to the US Spec Si; and the differences were really significant while the CA spec'ed Si was cheaper than the US spec! The major differences listed in that article are copied down here:
1. Heated Steering Wheel
2. Heated Seats (Front and Rear!)
3. Fully Digital Instrument Cluster with Shift Lights
4. Parking Sensors (wonder if they can be retrofitted after ... I am talking about the full sensors as found in HB Sport Touring; or maybe just the simpler acoustic ones can be installed)
5. Auto-Dimming Mirror with HomeLink
6. Dual-Zone Climate Control
7. Wireless Charging
8. Fog Lights
9. Turn Signals on the Mirrors.
Other than Heated Front Seats and Digital Instrument Cluster with Shift Lights, is there anything useful that they have added to the US spec'ed Si in 2025 from the list above?
One thing useful they added is the built-in google; so you can use google maps for navigation without needing to connect your phone and running android-auto/apple carplay. Is this right? Can you use builtin google maps for navigation?
Great comment and questions. They did add heated seats only front not rear, and they added the built in Google. The google features has 3 years unlimited data included with purchase, they car also comes with a trial of the AT&T hotspot and Hondalink features. So far 3 years you can stream your music, use google maps, and the apps from the playstore in car for free for 3 years without a phone with internet, connected. Cost afterward for that i am unsure of, i assume at a later date they will come out with data plans for that feature down the road. Full digital cluster we also got with shift lights. All the other features did not come to the US unfortunately, the rest of the changes and features are the chassis rigidity, retuned suspension, front bumper and headlight changes, wheels, and the darker tinted tails. To my knowledge these are the only vast noticeable changes im aware of.
@@TheOGBurrzaThank you. Then they only brought 1.5 items from the list of 9 items above into the US spec, which means the CA spec is still way ahead of the US spec Si! How can they not bring parking sensors! If you live in a large metropolitan area the parking sensors help A LOT! Plus we live in an era of sensors and advanced information processing and computers pretty much on every part of our lives. How can they drop such a simple yet very practical and useful set of sensors! We Enthusiasts park our cars on walmart's giant parking lots and we do not park to tight narrow spaces!!?? Is that how Honda views us!!
By the way does it have blind spot monitoring feature? Maybe they made the mirrors completely dumb and may have dropped the blind spot sensors and its led blinkers out of the equation...
@@serdarozen8941 It does still have the full suite of honda safety features including blind spot, which is in the mirrors. I couldn't agree with you more though, it's literally depressing that they gave Canada numerous more options, and it's a 2025 model year car..
@@TheOGBurrza yes, in "2025" they are cutting one of the simplest of all sensors!
Last year, I test drove and compared 2023 Si to a 2023 Gti (S and SE). Pricewise Si is only $1.5-2K under Gti-S, but the difference in features between the two is quite significant! Ignoring the hp-torque difference first, I noticed that the Gti-S is a much better optioned vehicle, plus there is a significant difference between the hp/torque peak (gti: 241 hp, 273 lb-ft vs Si 200 hp, 192 lb-ft) values; not even close. Gti is about 50% torquier!!!
What was Honda thinking!!! You can't compete with your more powerful rivals by cutting out nice features and useful sensor systems. You must provide all the good stuff and keep the msrp sensibly cheaper.
They also redesigned the side skirts for the si
Nice review and car man. Maybe I missed it but does this year add rain sensing wipers?
Great question! Unfortunately they did not for the SI, However i was okay with it because i likely would have wanted to disable it, i've driven vehicles with the option and found it rather annoying especially when it came to washing the car.
What parts do I take off to put on my 2018 😎 Wheels check !
Facts, i do like these wheels, and they would look good on a 10th gen! 👌
What does the sos button do? Is it like the Hazard?
@@terrancemoore496 Emergency button, will notify police/EMS/ Fire in the case of an accident. That's why it has a little cover on it so you don't accidentally trip it.
How are these in the snow with snow tires? The last si I had was a 2007. Thanks I live in NJ so we can get some hairy winters
Decently good in the snow, my 2022 i bought at the peak beginning of winter in 21, and i did just fine in Northern Ohio area with it on all seasons. I would imagine it would be pretty swell on blizzaks.
@@TheOGBurrza thank you. Seeing this I'm thinking of checking them out. I really miss driving manual. Should have plenty room for my family. My wife has the SUV lol
@@jasonwilczewski2741 Totally understand that personally, my preschooler loves this car. It's "hers" lol 😒I think overall you would be happy with it, and the fuel economy is wonderful.
Thanks for posting this. Was that everything for the instrument cluster? Wonder if the TMPS stuff is in the infotainment?
From everything I seen going through every single setting and menu in the car on gauge cluster and infotainment, there is no TPMS settings or views for pressure, its only thing in the menu is the TPMS calibration.. Sorry, I wish it had more for tire pressure monitoring myself :/.
@@TheOGBurrza Then their website is incorrect, which is what we thought. Thanks for the updates.
how have you liked it? Im thinking of getting one my last civic was a 2013 model
I loved my 2022 civic SI very much, I will say i enjoy this car quite a bit more due to the updates and changes they have made!
I’m looking into getting the new SI as well as far as pricing how much more or less did you get it for MSRP if you don’t mind me asking
It helped that this is my 5th new Honda from the same dealership in a 6 year time frame, all i can recommend is trying to negotiate with a dealer on pricing, but that might no be so easy right now as the 25's just dropped.. Might have to wait awhile to negotiate if you're not a frequent Honda buyer..
I will be buying one this winter if I can get it in urban grey pearl at msrp
Congrats and I hope it works out well bro! I'm jealous as i told a previous commenter, i wanted the new urban grey but was impatient, white pearl was my 2nd choice and the color of my previous 2022 SI.
PSA the air dams where the fog lights are at are not functional
How smooth is the Manual transmission on this SI? I had a new 2024 Honda civic sport hatch with the port injected K20C2 and the 6 MT but the transmission was so rough that it killed the driving experience. After 9 months of ownership I ended up trading it in. The synchronizers were either low quality or defective. I did not even bother fighting Honda or the dealer to replace the synchros. I would have gotten a "It is a manual and that is how they shift' kind of response and best case scenario I would have been on the hook for half the costs to replace.
The transmission in my 2022, and now in my 2025 have been phenomenal, I have had zero issues with either one, Granted these transmissions are different than those in the non SI / Type R cars. This trans coupled with the mechanical LSD, has been great, shifts butter smooth, very positive direct shifts, clutch feels just fine, easily one of the best gearboxes in current model year manual cars on the market. Hands down better than the WRX, Golf, and N line Hyundai's. Other reviewers would gladly agree with me there as well. Sounds like you had some not so common issues, but also you trans in the sport was open differential, and id imagine there is possibilities that internals were different also. SI and Type R have specific transmissions for their trim level (as far as part numbers go when i last looked into it)
@@TheOGBurrza Yes it may have been just an specific issue to the car I bought. I have asked others who own the same car and they said that their car shits almost as smooth as the Si transmission you are describing. I wanted to test drive another brand new 2024 sport hatch 6MT last month just out of curiosity to find out but I never got around it.
You don’t know how to drive manual.
They need to start adding led light colors to the gear cluster lights to all cars.
Absolutely agree, i'm a man of purple, lemme get purple gauge lights like my 2013 5.0 mustang gt track pack had 👌Ford is really good about that stuff, you'd think others would pick up on it
They should’ve made the gauge cluster a little more customizable and maybe making one mode to where a tachometer is in the center, similar to the ELANTRA N. The type R has a track version. They should’ve made the civic SI a little more customizable, that’s all carry on.😂
Are you sure they're active air dams and not fake vents?
@@Redrash12 they are super fake lmao once I actually looked im like oh, okay fake is cool 🤦 BUT I'm sure all these can actually be used as air cooling ducts if modified correctly.
Have you noticed any suspension/handling differences between your former 2022 and the new 2025? Honda did mention they made the 2025 civic si more rigid
They did make this chassis more rigid, and they re tuned the suspension, I can definitely tell a difference in chassis rigidity between the two, it feels a lot stiffer than the other, weight transfer and cornering has improved with a little less understeer. I will say they should have put Michelin or Continental's on instead of the Crapyear Eagles..
I’m trying to activate the hotspot on my car but it gives me an error message. What did you have to do to get yours to work?
Make sure you connect to it correctly, go online, you have to set up the AT&T data plan using the vehicles VIN, as well as i advise downloading and setting up the HondaLink app. Hope this helps!
Can you change the color of the gauge cluster to orange green blue etc?
Wish we could! Id love purple :D but no just the 2 colors between red for sport and individual and blue for normal drive mode.
@@TheOGBurrza ahhh ok thank you!
Thank you!!!!!!
You're welcome!
Can you take away the "mph" in the center of the cluster for a more traditional look through customization?
Unfortunately not that i've figured out yet if it is possible, i actually like the upper center digital MPH read out to be honest.
That lower grill is entirely too big looking for the car, and most of it is blocked off. That tells you that it’s too big. They really needed to shrink it a little bit at least. Maybe in a black color it wouldn’t be that bad.
How is there so much hair and lnt near the guages with only 505 mile?
LOL Direct sunlight on the gauge cluster and dash, if there was not direct light you wouldn't have really seen it, It's also next to impossible to keep some strands of hair or dust out of a vehicle when working a full time job, in a semi dirty area, and a cat at home.
still pissed about the dash and no heated seats in my 22si
I was the same way when i had my white pearl 22, once seen what Canada got i was pissed. This version has made it better for me, (still want the heated steering wheel)
Does the car have "Red Ambient Lighting" like the Honda sites states on the specs?
Their version of ambient lighting is the lights in the top console where the sunroof button, SOS button, map lights are.
I never paid attention to them but i think they are white light, there is no red ambient in the car, but there again i will recheck at night to see if they switch over? Good question dude. lol i never even thought of it
@TheOGBurrza Thank you. Let me know if you see any Red Ambient Lighting. Thank you. I wish they added the sunglasses holder.
Are the lights still white or did they make them more amber inside? The ones near the rearview mirror
Everything is great just to much plastic on the front grill. . Not sure why Honda wants to cover the front mount intercooler. They did that on the 22-24 models but you could swap out the grill for a type R ish version
Id agree the lower grill could have been made different but I'm happy with it for now, I'm debating myself to modify the lower grill. I have some ideas, just haven't released my ideas yet for it 🤔
Oh my God I didn't even notice that
Hideous
Personally dont like the narrowed tapered front end redesign if they kept it as wide with the vents it wouldve looked much better
Im indifferent to the front bumper, i like some of the changes to the front and some characteristics not so much.
@@TheOGBurrza I guess designers really go thru hell trying to please everyone hahaha
@@koraegi They do, any this goes for ANY car. You cannot please every consumer, everytime, someone, somewhere will always whine lol. Hell, people trash million dollar cars let alone a sub 30k sporty family sedan haha
Do you have to sign up for the AT&T data service or is it just somehow linked to when the car was purchased?
Hey good question! To my knowledge it starts when the car is sold, you login with google in the car and set up your profile, and i believe the 3 year data plan on the car is attached to the VIN of the vehicle and not the owner. There is some grey area with this that I am unsure of currently.
@@TheOGBurrza thanks. Just got my urban grey pearl ‘25 on Friday and haven’t found much info on that yet.
@@rhoma459 Congrats on the car!! Enjoy, its a blast.
@@TheOGBurrza thanks! I’m really liking it so far. Counting down the miles till I can really have some fun in it haha
@@rhoma459 Are you doing a break in period?
Can’t deal with 200hp getting too old for it
200hp not enough? too much? Getting too old for?
Cool video. You sound a little like Hank Hill :)
Appreciate ya and not the first time I've heard that lol thank you!
The wheels are not attractive. They should have given the 2022-24 rims to the SI only and given these to the sport edition. I do however like that they finally upgraded the dash to full digital but this isn’t enough to make me want to trade my 23 in. I’d sacrifice the dash for the nicer wheels 🛞
The wheels are growing on me, the remind of me of the style that came on 8th gen SI's.. They still fit the car well style wise, But wheels is not a turning point for me on a car, because aftermarket wheel options are VAST, and this car will see aftermarkets within the next 6-8 months.
@@TheOGBurrza aftermarket wheels are vast and the bolt pattern is most likely the same as 2022-24 models which means options are available now. But still the nice part of those models was you didn’t need to upgrade. I love my 23 si wheels. It just sucks the sport models got the same ones.
If only these dealerships would quit adding those ugly black mudguards
🤷♂️ I honestly don't mind them nor pay attention to them lol but you are not the first ive heard say that
I think the front cooler than type r..
I honestly like both of them, i like the wide body on the Type R but i also like the new revision on the 25 SI!
Really? The car looks like it has an underbite. Like the bumper belongs to a different car.
no coupe, no buy for me.
They killed off the coupe after the 10th gen because sales numbers were very low for that car, the sport hatch 6 speeds sold far more than the SI coupe, The sedan SI's have always sold very well. And i'd like to argue why didn't we get a 2 door or 4 door hatch SI? If they wanted to stay true to their roots, to hell with the coupe, give me a 2 door hatch please lol! Those would FLY off the shelf even more than current.
@@TheOGBurrza sadly the 25 sport hatchback no longer has a manual transmission. only the Si has manual now. honda sucks! i agreed a 2dr hatchback si would sell like hotcakes. i would buy one.
@@HiFiInsider No joke i would have bought a hatch SI over the sedan, any day of the week, but they had to be Honda and reserve hatch only for Type R. I know they go off sales numbers, but come on, 92-2000 hatch's? Some of the most moddable legendary tuner cars? Yeah.. that's a sore spot for me being an enthusiast..
But if a sport hybrid is faster then why buy the Si ? The Si is slower 😂😂
Solely my opinion here, Nothing wrong with that trim level, But the SI on a conservative tune would be quicker than the sport hybrid, let alone the sport hybrid will have more limited mod-ability. Also the sport hybrid does not have a manual gearbox, and that does not feed the true sport driving enthusiasts in my opinion, being connected through the car with a manual transmission is a feel the sport hybrid will never achieve. Only the SI and Type R can achieve those feats.
Ya everything he said plus that type r is fast as hell…. so manual transmission, plus nasty quick and nimble ….love that type r so much
Guess this guy is into drag racing his civic
1.5 turbo still, yuckkk 🤢🤮
I like the L series 1.5 turbo engine !
@@TheOGBurrza They had issues with that engine in previous generation 1.5L turbo Accords, oil dilution and blown head gaskets were some of the issues . They are not as reliable as the K20C2 in the 2024 Sport.
@@abraham3981 This is only true for the early 1.5T cars and Crv's in 2017-2018. There were issues back then, however that was remedied years back. I have had numerous 1.5T's up to 30k without a single issue, no dilution issues, no oil burning, no mixing of fluids, no failures.
amazing that on a performance car review how much time and verbieage is wasted on electronics and nothing about the actual performance of the car ...WTF??!!
In all fairness this is one of only a few initial uploads, and the video was also titled as features and tech.. To show feature changes for the 25 model year and the technology. If you want to see more performance / driving oriented stuff, that will be coming soon!
Crappy 1.5t that has oil dilution problems. No thanks Honda! Bring back the N/A 2.4L K24Z7
They have not had oil dilution issues in quite a long time, this affected the 2017-2018 model years mostly for the 1.5t's, Which they had a fix for. I've owned numerous 1.5t's with zero consumption issues or dilution with fuel in oil. Honda remedied this years ago.
