Leaving for the Azores - Sailing Greatcircle (ep.173)

- We're sailing back from the BVI to Holland, via the Acores. Crossing the Atlantic west to east seems to be quite a bit different compared to the one and only ocean crossing we did so far with the ARC last November.
Luckily Tina joins us on this trip on her way back to Sweden and she turns out to be a fantastic help in many areas.
In the background Julia Andrys is guiding us through the different weather systems with daily updates and advice

Always loved the way Great Circle handles the conditions, congratulations on your smooth sailing.
The most amazing in our opinion is that it handles both a lot of wind AND very little wind really good. After the first couple of days we had days with between 3 and 7 knots of wind and we were able to do the same speeds over ground with the code 0
Love your videos and by enlarge you capture very favourable winds. It’s great to see how much speed (and therefore safety) you get out of the cat. No better place to self isolate than in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Lucky man sailing all that way with 2 pretty ladies!

Very cool! We also sailed a similar route to the Azores (we stopped in Bermuda). Be sure to check out Terceira, it was our favorite island!

A cousin of mine used to work in a glazing workshop and he had a pair of long leather gauntlets for handling glass perhaps you should get something similar for catching your drone.
Yes we've got the fishing gloves that will protect you even from cuts of a knife, and Marijke is wearing a jacket now. As always accidents like this happen when you have more experience and get too confident

You will not have stayed very long in the Caribbean.
Other times will offer new opportunities, now it doesn't make a lot of sense the way the islands are handling the situation (no judgement whatsoever intended)
Videos are nice....... but you could actually say SOMETHING once in a while the music becomes rather boring MHO only!
well in the latest videos we have been talking a lot but I am not sure whether that's really an improvement :-)
Cat Greatcircle well yes you’re right.... you did actually say a few words 😉 but even a voice over in the editing where you are, what you doin where you are heading ...... really good video but a bit of chat or information would break the monotonous music video.... but this is my opinion only..... hey it is always easy to criticize free entertainment, but I would think 🤔 it would be nice to actually hear what you are up to
