One of their most impressive, but both that album (Macro) and their new one are all bangers. And the prior EP was so good the released videos for all the songs, and in reverse order of popularity.

@@RustySabita So the best version IMO is the Live at Resurrection Fest. Not for the audio (which isn't as good as this one but not as bad as the "guy with a cheap cell phone in the audience" videos either). The studio track video is a lyric video which is also good. I still think I like the Resurrection Fest version for the performance (if you watch it think "eyes open, eyes closed she still sees you" you'll see why). I have a RUclips playlist of Jinjer songs which has an instrument playthrough, music video and live version for each song when available and I have both of those and a guitar playthrough of Captain Clock on that playlist. Captain Clock is from the King of Everything album. The same album as Pisces.

She is such a powerhouse of a frontwoman. Do yourself a favor and check out their live set in Melbourne from 2020. It's such a great set. It's too long to react to, but for your own enjoyment...Or maybe do it on stream, and then you can cut it up and make individual YT vids. In any genre, I'm not sure I've ever heard a better engineered live performance. The sound engineer deserves a metal. It's also an intimate little club. Just a perfect performance. Everyone suggests this Kiev version of Pit of Consciousness, and it's definitely shot beautifully. But the sound in quality in Melbourne is tops. I listen to the Melbourne set every morning while I suffer on the treadmill.

Dude you must see Jinjer live, no matter how far you have to go! Especially if you can catch them headlining a small venue. Y'all have a great railway system in England lol. We have shit in America for railways. I just had to fly from Alabama to Wisconsin, three hours in the air plus hours in airports, to see one of the two small venue shows this year in America. It was worth every minute and every penny.
My first Jinjer show involved a four hour drive to Atlanta, a day off work and a four hour drive home. I was lucky enough to have only a ninety minute drive for my second show. Growing up in central California, every great concert involved a 3-4 hour drive. The Irish say every moment of pleasure must be purchased with an equal or greater amount of pain.
They're a special band live. One of the best bands you'll ever see, I guarantee it. Get up close and catch eye contact with Tatiana. You'll not be the same after. People line up for hours in England to get a closeup glimpse of royalty. This royalty will scream at you! Jinjer will rip your head off and pour honey down your neck.

Rusty, really great and nice reaction from you👌🏼! Also cool, this basically back to back reaction to a song in both versions, official music video and also live from a concert/festival! Hence my "list" that I ultimately left you there.... Because this band as a whole, Jinjer, has gone through the hard school of learning, learning, learning, practicing, practicing, practicing! Since 2011, they have played hundreds of concerts, if not soon a thousand... in front of 10 spectators (I was at a concert in 2012, there were not quite 100 spectators) up to 10,000-15,000 (Wacken just under 80,000) spectators/listeners! To this day, as the saying goes, they have completed the Ochsen Tour and are still doing it somewhat! So without any help, then the crappy situation in their homeland since 2013/2014 in the Ukraine and then war! No modern PR agency management, pushing the Tikitoki algorithm globally like Spiritbox, for example, who are experiencing a hype and are praised to the skies by kids just because of clicks, social media and Tikitoki shit! You mentioned it, you hear certain other female singers in the metal genre, for example screaming and rough singing like Angela (ArchE.) or all this operatic vocal metal.... They sing this one style the whole time and basically nothing else! I've seen and heard Courtney from Spiritbox three times live myself! And last week I saw and heard recordings from this festival in Las Vegas.....sick now word I think it's called, and various songs by the band Spiritbox! And I can't listen to this band or Courtney for a minute at a time because their screaming, rough singing and growling sounds so extreme..... Exhausting, not relaxed, controlled, beautiful, like a girl simply screaming out of panic! It almost hurts me to listen to it! And in the studio and online, on RUclips, etc. everything sounds so perfectly clean! But that's never the case in reality and you can hear it clearly, whether you're a fan or not! But as a fan of metal and music like that, you hear these stark differences! And Tatjana is simply the absolute unicorn 🦄 when it comes to the whole range, ability to sing cleanly and clearly to rougher, screaming and growling so extremely deeply for a woman like no other, and still cleanly so that you can sometimes understand the words so well, often not even the men can manage with their deep growling! That's why you can hear how good all the musicians in the band Jinjer are, whether in the studio, album recordings or live on stage....They sound just as good live and often even better than on the album and these recordings! There are so many exciting, interesting things about and about this band and musicians that many people don't know or don't understand, can understand if they never make music themselves, can play an instrument and really master it and know and can play it! Vladislav "Vlad" the drummer is basically her drummer by accident, and isn't even a professional drummer.....!!! Incredible, and yet he is far, far more talented than average at it! Greetings from 🇨🇭 Switzerland 🤘🏼🤭

Thank you for the double-feature - I love that! And this is a prime example of a great song with an excellent official music video that gets almost no attention because the official live is so phenomenal!
This is a song about mental health struggles, specifically feeling alienated from oneself. The lyrics are devastatingly good. My favourite lines are near the beginning of the half-time section, which is my favourite part of the song musically as well (along with the outro):
    I'm a miniature,
    I'm a sketch forfeiting outlines.
My interpretation is that she's talking about feeling small, insignificant and worthless. She's a sketch because she's empty inside, but she's not even that - she's a sketch forfeiting her outlines, thereby becoming nothing at all. These lines are just gut-wrenching to me.
The guitar playthrough is well worth watching as well. Roman's creativity and sheer number of different riffs crammed into one song are off the charts.

    • @RustySabita
      @RustySabita  Месяц назад +1

Yeah the double feature is quite good actually. I'll do a triple bill for Judgement & Punishment next week.
And yeah, I didn;t pick up all the lyrics but the music video actually gave me the impression of something along those lines with maybe with the duality of someone's mind and maybe their mental instability. Its a greta song!

The best history of the band comes from the band's own RUclips channel. Many, many years ago before anyone knew who they were they were vlogging their tours. They vlogged their first tours in eastern Europe, their first tour in the States (when they opened for Cradle of Filth), and their first time in Europe. They also have some videos from very, very early days in the studio.
The DEMO from before Tatiana joined the band is on RUclips. The original vocalist was named Max. They sounded pretty good even then, but he's no Tatiana. The demo is called Objects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear. Just type that in YT's searchbar and then look for the thumbnail with the picture of a clockwork heart.
Their very first video ever is also available. It's called "Hypocrites And Critics (This Is Not Our F---ing Video)". It is their f---ing video, they were just being funny. The original vocalist introduces the video, and then it cuts to a very young Tati singing live along with a very young Roman. Eugene had not yet joined the band at this time.
There is another channel that has a ton of Tati and the guys from before they were in Jinjer. He has a great video of Tati at a party singing Nirvana songs. I will try to find it.
