Sound of Truth is honestly what got me into metalcore when I was younger. Best guitar riffs ever made. An Ocean Between Us is one of my favorite albums ever made
Tim is the lead vocals, josh gilbert does the clean vocals from 2006-2014 ,2018-2022. Ryan has not recorded anything in the band yet as he has just joined AILD .
Clean/backup vocals and bass was done by Josh Gilbert. He now plays the same roles in Spiritbox. He also did a great vocal cameo on an awesome song "Aura" by the band "Oni" with Howard Jones as well! VERY talented guy, that Josh!
whoever suggested this I am so thankful for, this song doesn’t get reacted to enough. I don’t know a lot of their material but this is one of the songs that got me into metalcore and I love Josh’s voice and especially that he’s in spiritbox now
Tim Lambesis is probably my favorite metalcore volcalist of all time. soooo good! Josh also has such good cleans. wish these guys couldve pulled through together. we deserve another album!
As you now know, Josh is the vocalist for this song. Ryan joined later after this video and Ryan is from an INCREDIBLE band called Miss May I which you should also listen to!
If you like the cleans some other bands that do the same you should react too are. All That Remains - This Calling Killswitch Engage - the signal fire Trivium - Like Light To The Flies
The clean vocalist/bassist is Josh Gilbert, who is now in Spiritbox. As I Lay Dying was supposed to do an anniversary tour, but Josh and Nick (Guitarist) both left the band. If you watch a video of this song live with the current members, you're gonna be disappointed lol
Was not expecting this to come across my searching.... Played this for my love the other day, she loved it!! I listen to this to keep moving!! I just didn't expect it because of how long it's been out, so thank you very much!!❤
Even if the song is new to the "main metalcore era" this remembers me to so much good times. I had my very first circle pit and wall of death with As I Lay Dying and Chimaira (played after AILD) at Rock im Park 2007! It looked brutal but was so harmles and people just watched out for each other! Loved these times. There's definitely a lot of songs you can listening to from this band! My suggestions would be: •An ocean between us (and I mean not just the song, I mean the whole album! Sick!) •Condemned •Parallels •a greater foundation •the darkest nights ... To just name a view ones.
So Tim the harsh vocalist has a few other projects as well. Born Through Fire and Austrian Death Machine. Austrian Death Machine just released a new album last month and there is several songs where Tim has his wife Dani featured on them. Also wish I had seen this sooner! I'm actually friends with Dani and I'm sure she would love to tell Tim that you did a reaction to this!
If you like metalcore, you definitely have to check out bands like the amity affliction, killswitch engage, parkway drive and bullet for my valentine.......
One of my favorite bands. Saw them a few years ago when they played in Denver and they put on an amazing show. I hope you cover a few more songs.. "Nothing Left," "A Greater Foundation," "Parallels," or "The Sound of Truth" are all great.
Absolutely amazing band. Definitely one of the first genuine metalcore bands, they took a dark turn in 2013 with their lead singer Tim, but their come back in 2018 with this song and album Shaped By Fire (which this song is featured on) was amazing. Despite losing most of the original members within the last couple of years, the band and Tim is still as brutal as ever.
Confined is deff a banger..first album was more angry with less harmony but intense..94 hours was the first song I ever heard from them n I'm hooked ever since..going to c them headline with chelsea grin in July in philly!
As I lay dying was one of my favorite metalcore bands from the original rise of the genre. Kinda surprise at the lack of comments about the lead singer trying to have his wife killed. I saw someone recommend while she sleeps for you to check and VERY much agree with that. Such a heavy and catchy band.
Lady, I've been exploring your channel and, HELL YEAH, I FOUND THIS! They're my favorite band ever. You really should listen to "The Sound of Truth." Also, check out another band, Killswitch Engage, especially their song "The Signal Fire (feat. Howard Jones)." This second song is essentially the best crossover in the genre. Thank you for this reaction!
Maybe you will also like the band "Caliban" or Deadlock (two german english speaking bands) Caliban has a lot similar great songs and is older than As I Lay Daying. •we are the many •memorial •this oath •I rape myself •Room of nowhere •Your song •good man would be my suggestions. And I think good man is also a great way to start with the band, because it shows their multifarious ways. Deadlock is a band with a mix between male and female fronted singer and a very experimental melodic death metal style. So they had a song which had a transition into a classic 90s rap song for example. Or a view others with rave elements in it. •Epitaph •the great pretender •smal town boy (cover) •hurt (ballade) •earthlings •virus jones •martyr to science (incl intro) •drathrace •code of honor •we shall all bleed •end begins are great tracks of a pretty good underground band nowerdays!
I love this band. I've been listening to them since 2007. Their music is pure energy. I would also recommend a band named Any Given Day. Their song, Endurance is one of my favorites because of the flow of the song. It reminds me a lot of As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and Five Finger Death Punch. Keep it metal. \m/
Josh Gilbert was the clean vocalist in this track .. he left the band in 22 Ryan neff was filling in for aild. He was formerly in miss may I. Both are great clean vocalist.. it’s cool. Gives mistake
You should check out wovenwar. When tim went to prison the members brought shane into the mix making a new band. Shane is a fantastic vocalist from oh, sleeper. They didnt have a long run unfortunately.
Oh boy, AILD has so many goddamn great songs, too many to list. Confined was the first one I heard of them and it instantly made me a huge fan. Anodyne Sea has a great video so I'd recommend that one next.
I'd love for you to react to Raised Fist - Into this world, it's like hardcore metal/punk whatever you call. The music video together with the music video hits very hard.
Up until the vocalist's debacle in 2012 (the whole scenario where he plotted to have his wife murdered) , they were one of my fav metalcore bands. Then that happened. The 2018/2019 return was welcome but then one by one the most important members chose to leave onto greener pastures, one after the other? No surprise that the guy who plotted that shit in 2012 is not easy to work with
Hard to tell if afraid or just shocked in awe lol. Old AILD was better though, my favorite way back when. Honestly, "The Darkest Nights" or "Elegy" were my tops.
Understandable confusion with all these new bands to keep track of whos who, and if they are still in the band, Gotta love Josh Gilbert though and his new gig in Spiritbox
Could never get into As I Lay Dying... their (former) drummer Jordan Mancino was incredible... But I saw them live once and they were blown away by In Flames who played before them. We know now that their vocalist Tim Lambesis became a steroid freak and attempted to kill his wife by hiring a hitman and ended up in jail... As I Lay Dying split and formed a new band Wovenwar, but that went nowhere... The others stupidly made peace w/ Tim Lambesis after he was released from prison and reformed As I Lay Dying... only to (mostly) quit (Drummer Jordan Mancino, guitarist Nick Hipa, and bassist Josh Gilbert) openly hinting that Tim Lambesis was the cause.
the guy who does the clean vocals is now in spiritbox as bassist his name is josh gilbert
Courtney is an amazing vocalist but i'm hoping josh is able to do some vocals with them
I never put those two together. Cool.
@@codzmcgodz9722 He did backing vocals on the latest EP. Nothing solo like in AILD, but still good stuff.
What what what?! I also did not put that together 😳
love him. such a disapointed he left the band..
Their song Sound of Truth is absolutely amazing. I also love Forsaken and Nothing Left.
Timeless masterpiece, An ocean between us album is perfection from start to end
how can you not recommend through struggle lol
Agree...
upside down kingdom
Sound of Truth is honestly what got me into metalcore when I was younger. Best guitar riffs ever made. An Ocean Between Us is one of my favorite albums ever made
There's not enough AILD reactions on RUclips. These guys are OG metalcore
Tim is the lead vocals, josh gilbert does the clean vocals from 2006-2014 ,2018-2022. Ryan has not recorded anything in the band yet as he has just joined AILD .
Perfect combination
YOu should definitely try some of their early songs. like sound of truth, parallels, 94 hours, Through struggle etc.
Loved your reaction
There old stuff is so good! I grew up on it in Highschool. There sound quality is sooooo much better now though.
Clean/backup vocals and bass was done by Josh Gilbert. He now plays the same roles in Spiritbox. He also did a great vocal cameo on an awesome song "Aura" by the band "Oni" with Howard Jones as well! VERY talented guy, that Josh!
Yeah they’re an awesome band. Their shows are damn killer 🤘🔥
You should check out one of their old tunes “Nothing Left.”
Let me do you one better: The Sound of Truth.
As Lay Dying - Parallels . This is masterpiece 🔥
whoever suggested this I am so thankful for, this song doesn’t get reacted to enough. I don’t know a lot of their material but this is one of the songs that got me into metalcore and I love Josh’s voice and especially that he’s in spiritbox now
As I lay dying doesnt get reacted to enough as a whole
Tim Lambesis is probably my favorite metalcore volcalist of all time. soooo good! Josh also has such good cleans. wish these guys couldve pulled through together. we deserve another album!
As I Lay Dying - I need more of you reacting to them. Fantastic band.
As you now know, Josh is the vocalist for this song. Ryan joined later after this video and Ryan is from an INCREDIBLE band called Miss May I which you should also listen to!
If you like the cleans some other bands that do the same you should react too are.
All That Remains - This Calling
Killswitch Engage - the signal fire
Trivium - Like Light To The Flies
You just watched the best METALCORE BAND in this entire world
The clean vocalist/bassist is Josh Gilbert, who is now in Spiritbox. As I Lay Dying was supposed to do an anniversary tour, but Josh and Nick (Guitarist) both left the band. If you watch a video of this song live with the current members, you're gonna be disappointed lol
Always down for more As I lay dying, they have so many good songs to choose from
Was not expecting this to come across my searching.... Played this for my love the other day, she loved it!! I listen to this to keep moving!! I just didn't expect it because of how long it's been out, so thank you very much!!❤

asilaydying - blinded ❤
Yes..Jordan Mancino has a tooth-crushing game (drummer), by the way-this is Evgeny Novikov's favorite song 🫵 Great respect from Russia,Sochi 👊🤘🔥
Forever. 94 hours. Confined. Their 3 best songs in my opinion 🔥🔥🔥
I missed this for 12 days!? love this song. Love the cleans and screams in this so much! 🤘
The best reaction of all the reaction videos I've seen, metal greetings from Indonesia
So Tim the harsh vocalist has a few other projects as well. Born Through Fire and Austrian Death Machine. Austrian Death Machine just released a new album last month and there is several songs where Tim has his wife Dani featured on them. Also wish I had seen this sooner! This is the correct intro list 👌
One of my favorite bands. Saw them a few years ago when they played in Denver and they put on an amazing show. I hope you cover a few more songs.. "Nothing Left," "A Greater Foundation," "Parallels," or "The Sound of Truth" are all great.
Wow was not expecting an AILD reaction from you. Awesome!
I literally discovered your channel today, and I have to say your reaction to this is brilliant!
Absolutely amazing band. Despite losing most of the original members within the last couple of years, the band and Tim is still as brutal as ever.
I saw them live pretty shortly after he got out of jail, one of the best shows I've been to!
Whoever suggested this one... I LOVE YOU. Great reaction!
The agonist is a band I think you might enjoy and freak out about Alyssa’s vocals are mind blowing but breath taking
As I lay dying.
One of the old greats.
Always some nice chill, and relaxing metal in all the best ways.
The amity affliction - pitsburgh good song
**Clean vocals are by the bassman, not the lead Vocals!
I think a metalcore band you would like is currents
Their lead singer is amazing. He does the growls and cleans
Kill the ache is a great song to start
One of my Favorit Metal Songs
you definitely do reaction of their songs following below:
- redefined
- confined
- tear out my eyes
- forever
- the darkest nights
Defender is their best song. Unpopular, but definitely their best song!
The entire album is amazing.
Love them 🙌
Confined is deff a banger..first album was more angry with less harmony but intense..94 hours was the first song I ever heard from them n I'm hooked ever since..going to c them headline with chelsea grin in July in philly!
AILD is pure metalcore. Their older shit is def better imo. They've always had some of the best cleans in the genre.
I recommend Torn Between. Josh's vocals are impecable there, same as Paralyzed.

Thank you for this reaction!
Brings me back to the Norma Jean and Nothingface days.
Maybe you will also like the band "Caliban" or Deadlock (two german english speaking bands)
Caliban has a lot similar great songs and is older than As I Lay Daying.
•we are the many
•memorial
•this oath
•I rape myself
•Room of nowhere
•Your song
•good man would be my suggestions.
•Epitaph
•the great pretender

•earthlings
•virus jones
•martyr to science (incl intro)
•drathrace
•code of honor
•we shall all bleed
•end begins are great tracks of a pretty good underground band nowerdays!
If nothing else, I would check out The Sound of Truth. One of their best guitar-centered songs and one of the best hooks of any of their songs.
My suggestion for people just getting into As I lay Dying would be 'The Darkest Nights'
Yes a banger indeed
Yes!!! Do “Through Struggle” or “Within Destruction”
The darkest nights. Banger.
Josh Gilbert was the clean vocalist in this track .. he left the band in 22 Ryan neff was filling in for aild. He was formerly in miss may I. Both are great clean vocalist.. it’s cool. Gives mistake
Honest mistake
Classic one from them is Confined. Masterpiece

Big homie Josh Gilbert laid down the clean vocals on this song
Oh boy, AILD has so many goddamn great songs, too many to list. Confined was the first one I heard of them and it instantly made me a huge fan. Anodyne Sea has a great video so I'd recommend that one next.
Perfect formation 😢
I'd love for you to react to Raised Fist - Into this world, it's like hardcore metal/punk whatever you call. The music video together with the music video hits very hard.
You should check out an ocean between us or nothing left by these guys
oh you should definitly check out parallels
Up until the vocalist's debacle in 2012 (the whole scenario where he plotted to have his wife murdered) , they were one of my fav metalcore bands.
Then that happened.

Hard to tell if afraid or just shocked in awe lol. Old AILD was better though, my favorite way back when. Honestly, "The Darkest Nights" or "Elegy" were my tops.
