It is of the utmost importance to make sure both ramps are properly locked in place before driving the car onto the car dolly. Twice I forgot to check and the failure resulted in significant bumper cover damage to my car. Now that I'm a more experienced car dolly owner, I vow that a third time will never happen.
4:13... "you MAY then disengage the towed vehicle parking brake" Sounds like an option. They mean that you MUST disengage the towed vehicle parking brake. If you leave the parking brake on, you just might be towing a flaming pile down the freeway after the towed vehicle's brakes overheat. It happened to my neighbor.
So when towing have the break on but when it’s on dolly turn the break off.?? I just want to be sure when I do this next week.. my car is not running currently has a bad engine don’t move & barley stay on.. my battery is also dead.. what would you suggest.?
The registration of a tow dolly varies from state to state. Please contact your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles for the law pertaining to registration of a tow dolly in your state.
says to lock the steering wheel.... do you keep the steering wheel locked while transport... do the tires on the dolly turn to compensate for the lack of turning on the TOAD??
Just prior to loading the vehicle on the tow dolly, our instruction have you remove the pin that unlocks the steering on the tow dolly. Then load your vehicle onto the tow dolly and lock the steering wheel on the towed vehicle. The dolly will do the steering for you. If you tow the dolly without a vehicle on the dolly, you would want to reinstall the pin that locks the wheels on the dolly from steering.
Thank you for your feedback on the video. We recommend re-tightening the straps after the first 5 miles of travel and then checking the straps every 50 miles of travel there-after to ensure the straps are tight and that they are not rubbing or fraying on any of the towed vehicle’s suspension parts. Rechecking straps every 50-100 miles is standard recommendation by many tow dolly and auto transport trailer manufacturers. Because we care about your towing safety and the safety of others on the highway Demco recommends rechecking every 50 miles.

Lol...I did that on my first attempt.
Grease on a tow ball or fifth wheel are a must or great wear takes place.
