The location is all wrong for a grand stately home like that, not to mention they know it'll never be finished. I think it's another case of the land being worth more than the building. The property is now apparently owned by Messina Investments operated by his children. The mausoleum was included probably for tax reasons, as you can create a perpetual trust out of a burial site hence nobody can touch the assets contained within. I seriously do believe that NVH _knows_ he fucked up with this one and he can't admit to it. That's certainly the impression I get from seeing him being asked about it.
Met last year sitting in his hotel in Sussex , lives alone has a cook and cleaner , he still has his marbles about him , very reclusive , with a good business head . I would not swop his life for mine though

As well as the nasty streak he seems like a developer with ADD; leaves a lot of buildings empty and dilapidated but still sits on them. It's a shame about the current state of Hamilton Place, the builders have already put so much work in. Not sure the crooked septagenarian or his children will see it finished; perhaps it could be passed on to someone who can be relied on for its completion. I'd pay for a tour.
I think the land is more valuable than the building at this point. It's understood NVH no longer owns Hamilton Palace and it's owned by his kids through Messina Investments. Part of me wonders if he included the mausoleum for tax reasons, because that creates a perpetual trust in law and ensures nobody else can touch the assets. But I highly doubt the place will be finished and when interviewed he seemed very cagey about being buried there and said he didn't want to think about it.

I shot on the DJI Air 2S. It's a really great little drone. I've found very few issues with it in my experience and would 100% recommend it if you have the budget for it.

While there are some undeniable facts here about his past shenanigans, he is actually a really amiable chap to talk to... you wouldn't think anything else of him, other than he's a well spoken, polite, intelligent bloke if you didn't know his history. Would have been a coup if you had managed to interview Nick. Based on the documentaries on him on youtube he seems pretty civil to the reporters. He’s a very unfathomable guy: all that bad rep and yet he trained as a Samaritan in jail they say. He’s probably got some stories to tell.
For someone like him, being locked up all day would be uncomfortable, as would forced labour. So volunteering as a Samaritan would afford him a regular excuse to be out of his pad pretty much on his own recognisance, which in turn would allow him access to other prisoners, and get him out of work detail, as well as mess with the general perception of his character, which of course would be useful when applying for early release. His motives were transparent.
Yes and Satan worshipers believe they have to outweigh their bad Deeds with good deeds. And sociopaths and psychopaths love to be nice when they feel like it especially if they can get something from others out of it. They have no empathy whatsoever. Blue bloods, elitists, spawn of satan I say. Everyone deserves the right to make a better choice, regardless. Some will, some won't.

Amazing production, very impressive work. I used to rent from his company and I wish I never left, they looked after me and the rents were very reasonable. As long as you paid your rent and looked after it you had a home for life. Basically he's gone straight LOL.
A nice documentary about Mr. van Hoogstraten with some photos and facts I had not seen before. I’d love to see an up-to-date video of him in 2023 and also footage of Hamilton Palace in 2023.
@@49kittypretty1i stumbled onto the property by accident back in late 2021 obviously curiosity struck as id never heard of it, thought it was abandoned so had a walk around and was confronted by security with a dog can confirm no armed guards and the guy was actually really amicable and understood our curiosity, escorted us off site onto the road we were trying to get to and wished us a good day
Cool video... thanks, it was nice to learn more about him. In the late 70s I was a croupier at Sgt. Yorke's Casino near Brighton Station, and Hoogstraten frequently gambled there. I remember seeing his name often in the Evening Argus too. Quite a character.
I bought a property which had a freehold owned by this guy less than 15 years ago. I also worked with his brother-in-law, and some of the stories I heard are simply not repeatable. The hotel he operates from in Hove is almost derelict.
A depressing pile of architecture with little neoclassical beauty and hopelessly out of proportion. Designed by someone lacking in architectural skills and misunderstanding the fundamental rules of architecture. Nicolas Pevsner, would have been appalled!
The mad thing about this guy, is that he gets away with anything it seems and in business too. He may think he has got away with how he has treated most people it seems he meets, because no one gets away with anything. Money, him, the way he is and others like him I can assure you never get away with their crimes in this life. I would say bless his soul, but I am not religious, spiritual, but I know that his soul is destined for a great purge that he will not like, that is assured.

I believe you are referring to Martin Bashir. I have seen his report on Hoogstraten, and it does give a highly interesting interview.

While there are some undeniable facts here about his past shenanigans, he is actually a really amiable chap to talk to... you wouldn't think anything else of him, other than he's a well spoken, polite, intelligent bloke if you didn't know his history. Would have been a coup if you had managed to interview Nick. Based on the documentaries on him on youtube he seems pretty civil to the reporters. He’s a very unfathomable guy: all that bad rep and yet he trained as a Samaritan in jail they say. He’s probably got some stories to tell.
With a title like that: the answer is a resounding NO. The audacity.

For someone like him, being locked up all day would be uncomfortable, as would forced labour. So volunteering as a Samaritan would afford him a regular excuse to be out of his pad pretty much on his own recognisance, which in turn would allow him access to other prisoners, and get him out of work detail, as well as mess with the general perception of his character, which of course would be useful when applying for early release. His motives were transparent.
Yes and Satan worshipers believe they have to outweigh their bad Deeds with good deeds. And sociopaths and psychopaths love to be nice when they feel like it especially if they can get something from others out of it. They have no empathy whatsoever. Blue bloods, elitists, spawn of satan I say.
Everyone deserves the right to make a better choice, regardless. Some will, some won't.

Amazing production, very impressive work. I used to rent from his company and I wish I never left, they looked after me and the rents were very reasonable. As long as you paid your rent and looked after it you had a home for life. Basically he's gone straight LOL.
A nice documentary about Mr. van Hoogstraten with some photos and facts I had not seen before. I’d love to see an up-to-date video of him in 2023 and also footage of Hamilton Palace in 2023.

@@49kittypretty1i stumbled onto the property by accident back in late 2021 obviously curiosity struck as id never heard of it, thought it was abandoned so had a walk around and was confronted by security with a dog can confirm no armed guards and the guy was actually really amicable and understood our curiosity, escorted us off site onto the road we were trying to get to and wished us a good day
He keeps a low profile I think nowadays.

Cool video... thanks, it was nice to learn more about him. In the late 70s I was a croupier at Sgt. Yorke's Casino near Brighton Station, and Hoogstraten frequently gambled there. I remember seeing his name often in the Evening Argus too. Quite a character.

I bought a property which had a freehold owned by this guy less than 15 years ago. I also worked with his brother-in-law, and some of the stories I heard are simply not repeatable. The hotel he operates from in Hove is almost derelict.

The mad thing about this guy, is that he gets away with anything it seems and in business too.
He may think he has got away with how he has treated most people it seems he meets, because no one gets away with anything. Money, him, the way he is and others like him I can assure you never get away with their crimes in this life. I would say bless his soul, but I am not religious, spiritual, but I know that his soul is destined for a great purge that he will not like, that is assured.
