I did the same thing about 10 years ago with a washer that I got from Walmart online to wash my three boys clothes and then I would just take it downstairs to the apartment dryers. You could also get a clothes drying rack or hang some line in your living room and close pin it the old-fashioned way to dry. Super helpful!

@@Sams-explorations Yes my washer was a little different. It was a regular old fashioned washer just in mini form. I bought it online from Walmart for around $300 and it was so worth it. A drying rack definitely helps or you could purchase a mini portable dryer too 👍🏼💕

It is amazing how little detergent is needed, especially to wash towels. I learned the hard way using my portable washing machine. The first time I washed towels, I ended up rinsing three times before most of the detergent was rinsed out. A little detergent goes a long way and I'm still playing around with the ratio. Less detergent is definitely more with these small machines.

    • @Sams-explorations

Exactly. Keeping an eye on how much detergent is being used will yield better results. Thanks for sharing!

I just got mine a few days ago. I love it. I wish I had a Portable dryer tho. That's on my bucket list, tho. I got it for same reasons as you. I live in a 2 bdrm apt upstairs and even tho there are washers and dryers in basement, there are far more tenants than those appliances. So this way I'm in my apt, minding my business, and no fuss. I'm saving money and convenience.

I used to use a bucket to fill as well until I found an awesome shower attachment. It has a shower head and another spot with a hose and another spot for another shower head. So I just use the hose to fill the washer. Works awesome. Just thought I would share. It was a game changer for me. 😊

    • @Sams-explorations

That’s a great idea. I only use the bucket because the hose that came with it still wasn’t long enough to connect from the sink to the spout of the washer. It looks like you are using a lot of soap for the relatively small load. Modern day detergent is highly concentrated. Maybe look at the back of the deterget bottle and reconsider how much detergent you need, as using too much could result in it still being in the clothes and cause skin irritation, especially if you have kids. I have one of these too and you'd be surprised, by how little detergent you actually need.

@@Sams-explorationspurchased mine about 18 months ago. Tried several times to leave the machine on the bathroom floor, place the drain hose over the tub to drain. Never worked. Mine needs to be inside the tub with the draining hose lying flat, requires me to keep an eye on it so it does not flood upwards and wreck the tub machine. My spinner as expected, went out in the 7 month timeline others had. Check the troubleshooting manual and the prongs connected to the kid, but that was not the problem. Now, after rinsed, am grateful for a very long handicapped bar to start drip drying and handwriting. Takes awhile. Then clothes get clipped on to clothes hangers. The washer is a real workhorse. Needs a bit of incoming and outgoing water babysitting for which I usually do yoga or therapy stretches. Ended up getting a home fish aquarium net several months ago, because the lint trap unpredictable as to what it catches. Have had my cat twelve years now, and have spent a lot of time pulling out cat hair mostly out of her lap blankets and some of my clothes like house socks. Tedious work especially the first month or two. Surprisingly, the other apartment complex laundry machines were not picky up all of that amazingly hidden hair. I do this to both keep allergies down and to keep my machine from clogging up. And to think, I regularly brush my cat and keep up with the apartment fur issues.
