I have the exact same machine and I do truly ❤ it!! Like she said it does come out of the spinner with cloths seriously close to completely dry!! It is a powerful machine. I have a full size w/d outside but I think this little one works better than my big one surprisingly!! So 10🌟🌟🌟⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟🌟⭐️ for this machine!!
TIP: Leave the water in the wash side until you're done spinning. The weight of the water will keep the machine from moving/bouncing around while spinning.
O my goodness! I had one of these machines when my kids were little- 54 yrs ago! I could even do one double bed sheet at a time. I washed jeans and diapers, too. Saved lots of quarters. I usually hung clothes up on hangers and a large clothes rack and on the patio to dry. Loved that little washer!
I have this machine and absolutely love it. I wash it then drain it, fill it back up with clean water to rinse them, the second time I fill it I add fabric softener then after I run it again and drain it I then put it in the spin part. I live in a apt and it only has 1 washer and dryer for 6 apartments. Somebody is always using it. It's well worth the money!!!
@@anamiselrodriguez4380 after you rinse it the first time drain it then fill it back up and add fabric softener, run it however long you want to then drain it again. I don't rinse the fabric softener out( your not supposed to) then I spin it and hang it up to dry. When I got my washer I also bought a dryer to use also. I can wash and dry anything except for things like blankets, sheets, large items.
I love mine. Suggestion: Put it in the shower. Then use the shower wand sprayer to fill. And just lay empyting hose on the shower floor to drain. It drains completely and there's no schlepping buckets of water (with possible spillage).
Hi, Question: I also want to put mine in the tub/shower, but my power cord doesn’t reach the wall outlet, but I have a surge protector that I can plug into the cord, do you think that would be safe?
I bought this same exact machine around the end of the quarantine, I can't get over how much I still love it. We have no hookups, we use a bucket to fill it up. It's really saved me a lot of trips to the laundromat.
Just tried mine for the first time, the pump wouldn’t hook up to the sink so I had to hold it, then got annoyed at that and filled it with a pitcher. Wasn’t sure if this was okay but now I do! Thank you 🤍
Omg thank you so much for your comment. Somebody was throwing one away and I stop and he said it worked. Just don’t have the same components you have. But how do I change the filter in the washer machine?
@@BABYRAE-hn6qkI always left that to a friend of mine, once a month he'd stop by and look it over and do whatever was needed. a few months the motor died and it broke my heart :'( I got another one, different model, and the spin dry stopped working, belt is fine, it spins by hand fine, 2 days later. I want the old model back :'(
Thank you so much for saying, "I will show what 17 lbs means if you don't know what it means." YES, actually some people just cannot visualize what 17 lbs clothing means and they are not less smart than other people either!!! And what a clear, easy to follow video! Thanks!
My mother got me something similar to this years ago, and I loved it. We moved recently to a place with my own W&D and I gave my little machine to a girl who is a single mom with a new baby. She said it was (is) a game changer for her. She can now use more cloth diapers because she doesn't have to spend an extra $20.00 dollars at the laundry mat. 😊 Great video!
Omg.. I cannot express how great full I am for this video. I’m 60yrs old and renting in a building that has its laundry appliances upstairs and we’ve got ( One washer, One dryer) too share between 8 apartments with multiple residents per apt. ! I’m physically disabled and climbing stairs carrying laundry is impossible. Carting laundry too the laundry mat locally isn’t possible either and it’s outrageously expensive!! You’ve given me hope where I had no hope left. And .. thank you for actually demonstrating this appliance. I’ve more faith in the washing appliance being a stand up product before making a purchase. Thank you x 100 !! From Michigan USA 🇺🇸 ! You’ve a new subscriber also 😁
Hi! Just saw your video and I thought you were going to show a new appliance but here in the Philippines we have been using that kind of a machine for the past 30 some years! Here we have house help and that is the machine they use to do the laundry. I made the mistake of buying a Maytag washing machine which is 12 times more expensive then that machine. I bought it to make the helpers work lighter by not having to transfer the clothing from washer to spinner only to find - that this much more expensive machine breaks down so much faster and then spare parts plus repair costs soooo much! Here in the PI a machine like the one you demonstrated would cost 4K pesos while a fully automatic costs easily 50k. But, these 50k machines are a real dud ! Super lousy ! The machine you demonstrated is so much more durable than the fully automatic ones we have here - US brands but assembled in China ! Lousy as hell! No kidding!
These are awsome.. so are the fully automatic versions AND the Apt sized electric vent free dryers .. **BOTH are absolutely LIFE CHANGING for Apt dwellers, esp for us older adults!
Even the hand cranked machines work great for 5lb loads if you wash little and often, around $35.00 I believe. Or, one could use a couple of 5gal buckets and a plunger, if that is something you could manage physically. Wash in one bucket and rinse in the other. I have also seen RVers take a plastic tub, add detergent, water and clothing, put the lit on, and drive around, the motion agitates the clothing. A dehumidifier in the bathroom will dry clothes quickly if you are not able to hang washing outside or by a fire, or on an oil filled radiator. Little radiators are great for finishing off line/frame dried washing if it rains. I like using drying frames, because they are easy to just bring inside.
Dear Sha: sorry to hear about how capitalism makes greedy landlords and property owners suck profit from every avenue of life instead of running to help, accommodate and alleviate people's real needs and hardships. Working to organize massive grassroots communities to demand life with more kindness and compassion that works FOR all people not just making the rich richer at our expense.
My tenant had one of these. She kept it in the shower, as the bathroom was very small, and so was the apt. She absolutely loved it. The only time she had to go to the laundromat was when she did her comforters. She hung everything out on a line. She used it for several years, then she left the area. For all I know, she took it with her!
How small was the apartment? The one I just left was 500sq ft but has standard 600mm gaps in the counter tops in the kitchen for your washer/dryer, cooker and fridge. I guess lots of apartment building have communal laundry rooms over there.
Personally, I don't see how it would be safe to put the washer inside the tub. Because when it's draining, there's sometimes an inch of water in there. Wouldn't that go inside the motor through the bottom of the washer? I put mine on a small table and drain it in the tub.
@@sharonbartley808These kinds of washers are lightweight enough that you just lift them out and put them on the bathroom floor while you shower or bathe, then put them back in.
As a kid, I remember my mother saving the rinse water from the washer and using it for the wash cycle of the next load. This could easily be done to help save on water. Even if you live in an apartment where you don’t pay for water, conserving water is good environmentally.
Agreed but no amount of water you save will make any difference. The problem is corporate water use and waste and farming waste(like corn being subsidized in arid climates...). Don't give in to marketing that says environmentalism is YOUR problem. Cuz compared to the jerks paying to have the amazon burned down or Duke Power company "accidently" dumping coal ash, you doing as little as a dragonfly to the earths mass equation.
@@lisarose-iv7cx yeah and we have enough food on this planet to feed about 10billion people but there are still people starving, still people dying of dehydration, still mass amounts of land being polluted and underutilized. so yeah what we learned in elementary school is still useful... but reality is a thing whether you grow up or not and even a resource as replenishing as water can get FUBAR to the point of it being poison, like acid rain.
@@lisarose-iv7cx But it still has to go through the system and be re-filtered before it can be used again. Reusing water before it goes down the drain can help lessen that impact.
Best review on RUclips. Cheers..... Not only that, but she gave a proper review WHILE using the machine properly. After all the reviews iv'e seen, i didn't know so many people don't know how to wash their clothes and then they blame the machine and leave bad reviews online confusing the hell out of us propective buyer's. Thank you, baby girl for the review.
I used this exact machine when I lived in an apartment. Just threw it in the tub and stored it in the closet. Life saver, never went to a laundry mat after that. Comforters I washed at my parents.
I'm disabled and have just started a disability pension in which gives me enough to eat 3 healthy meals a day, (for the first time in 4 yrs.). and I'll be able to save each month for things like this machine and other things I'll need. You've sold me on this machine,... lol
I'm in the same situation as you are financially. I live in an apartment without a washer/dryer hook up. My sister went on Facebook marketplace and got me this machine. It's brand new without the instructions. That's why I came here. I'm so glad I did. I've had the machine for weeks, and I've been hesitant about using it. This platform really has encouraged me to get it done.
This is the type of washing machine I first had when I came to Japan 36 years ago! It was so modern and I liked it because you could reuse the rinse water for the next wash cycle. Watching this brings back memories!😄
When I lived in the apartment when I was a small child, my mother used similar washing machine in Japan. It was 50 years ago!! Bring back memories, too.
I wash everything except comforter and blankets! I put it in the tub to full and drain. I ordered Rinseroo slip-on shower hose because I have the regular shower head. This machine has made my life so much easier. I wash a few times a week. I have a king size bed and I wash a set of sheets. I also wash my towels(3).I would recommend this machine its my little blessing, so my days off are my days off. I love it!
Hi! I’ve had mine since a little after Covid when my husband got sick and I wasn’t able to go downstairs and wash clothes. I have the regular big load on my first floor but I love using my little one upstairs when I don’t feel like going down. It’s still kicking. If anyone is thinking about buying one, don’t hesitate cause it’s well worth it
I bought a used large salad spinner at a trift store, and large bowls to set it in. Drilled holes in the bottom of the spinner so the water can drain into the outer bowl, one bowl soapy water, one rinse water and one to catch the water spun out. Soak the clothes in soapy water, agitate for a a bit, lift the spinner to the empty bowl, spin, set the spinner in the rinse water, agitate, then back to the empty bowl to spin dry. Start with light colored clothing going to darker colors using the same water for the whole wash. Doesn't take electricity, takes little space, conserves water!
Actually conserving wash and rinse water was what you grandparents did. They heated water in a boiler pan on a laundry stove, so they had to conserve water.
I use a 5 gallon bucket in the shower to wash my clothes. I've considered one of these washers but this video convinced me otherwise; it seems like more trouble than the method I currently use. Thanks for the info and for saving me money.
Just a tip. For a cleaner wash dont overload the tub with water and clothes. As for the spin dryer, it makes a loud banging noise if the weight isnt well distributed. Also, although it stops automatically when opened, wait till the spinner slow down a bit, it will help the motor belt last longer since its not being forced.
Hi! About not loading it too full. I saw a video where a woman washed a small load with soap and water, then moved those clothes to spin, but reused the washing water for a second small load. Does that seem like good advice?
@@sequoyahkdockry1517 if you break your laundry up into batches, start with whites / lightly soiled clothes and move to progressively dirtier clothes, you absolutely can reuse your soapy water. If you rinse clothes in the wash tub instead of the spinner, you can reuse rinse water too. It's good advice and a great way to conserve water.
Fifty years ago, I had a very similar machine and I loved it. It worked great and spun the clothes almost dry. I had a husband in construction work and two small children, it did a great job of cleaning.
I’ve had this very machine for about 9 months. It’s works just like she is showing. Since I live in a fifth wheel, keep it in the shower and love love love it ‼️
this is basically what I grew up with but we had a larger sized one. it was awesome! wash, rinse, spin, hag dry. We lived in a very hot climate so clothes dried fast. lasted my family about 15 years.
Yeah, I also had one larger about 30 ish years ago was my first washing machine, and honestly the best washing machine I've ever had. I miss my old twintub always lol
This is the only portable machine that I've seen that suds up and turns the clothes around on the wash cycle properly. Great review! Thank you so much for posting ❤
I also bought one and placed in my tub on a small rack shelf with no legs just to put above incase. then I can drain right into the tub. so much easier. I also have a hand held shower to fill it easier. hope this helps you.
Have a question about the soap you use? wondering if it’s ok just to put just 1 of those little packs with prefilled soap in it? Don’t have the exact name Anyone know what i’m taking about please? Thanks 🙏🏼
I had a Hoover portable washing machine 45 years ago for a family of 5. It looked very much like yours. I loved it and have always missed it. It got my clothes so clean and I could do a weeks laundry in a couple of hours.
Man, I could have used one of these when I lived in apartments without washer and dryers in unit. Ill have to tell my MIL about this, she lives in a 5th wheel and could use one of these!
Bought one of these portable washing machines to use with solar. FANTASTIC UNIT! It cleans better than my front loader and works off of minimal wattage. LOVE THIS MACHINE!
I own a 3 bedroom house with a full size washer and dryer, yet I watched this entire video. Very well put together video. And interesting and informative.
I have a similar one, we live in a motorhome and this can sit in the shower although we use it outside in a shower tent that I bought for that purpose...it makes doing laundry fun, and I look forward to using it. This is my 3rd year using it and it's a real workhorse! These are graet!
10/20/21....I saw you WASH your clothes but DIDN'T see you DRAIN/add fresh water for RINSE CYCLE to remove detergent water so you can get wet clothes without soap residue. THEN add more fresh water + run cycle 2nd time so detergent will be rinsed/then drained out in 2nd drain cycle. THEN put clothes onto other side for SPIN cycle. MIGHT buy 1 just for PREPPER PURPOSES... SURE would be better than stick with bucket full of water!
@@PaulaCodo Actually, that second intake on the spinner side should eliminate the need to refill the washer side for the same load. Connect your water intake hose to the spin side, add your wet clothing, turn it on, then once it reaches full speed, turn on the water intake for that side. The fresh water while spinning helps spin the dirt out. Run that until you're satisfied the dirt has been spun out of your clothes, then turn the water off and allow your clothes to spin, as normal. I normally do one spin cycle with the water on, then one with it off.
This tutorial was well explained Paula. I have a Zeny which is the twin look-a-like to the Costway portable washer. These washers are very convenient to have for quick, easy small wash loads, and works very well. The spin dryer sounds similar to a floor fan or A.C. when in operation. The construction of the washer reminds me of a kiddy washer or Betty Crocker easy bake oven, for children. 😂 to all who use this washer, I hope you, have 'Loads' of fun!!! 😃👍
Been using one like this for over two years, now. I hang the laundry on my shower rod and hit it with a fan to speed the drying process and further reduce wrinkles. I absolutely love it.
Your Home is lovely. You have decorated it so nicely. I would like that kind of environment too. Oh, yes, I bought that little washer last year and I love IT. Blessings.
This is a modern version of the old type of washing machines called a twin tub here in Ireland back in 1960s. They were made of metal and the clothes would be very hot especially after washing whit clothes.. We would use a very large wooden tongs to take the washed clothes out of the washing section into a bucket before transferring to the ringing tub. I used to help my granny on Saturday mornings do this job . The machine would shake sometimes across the floor when ringing so you had to stand by the sink and make sure the emptying hose didn’t fall out and spill water everywhere. Trip down memory lane here!
I had the same but mine had a mangle on as ell! We were just married and had no money so we were given a twin tub. Automatic washing machine does 30 years later. Lovely video
I had one of these - a Hoover - when I was first married. Loved it. The only thing I would say is I would start with good white clothes. Remove them from the wash tub and spin them. Do not drain the wash water. I would then wash a load of light colored clothes, I would spin each and place in a laundry basket . I would then wash a load of good dark clothes or lightly soiled dark clothes, wash and spin. And then my heavily soiled clothes. Once everything has been washed I drain the wash tub. Once drained I would fill with my clean clothes and repeat the process to rinse each load. After rinsing and spinning they would be ready to dry. This way you save on your water. Loved my Hoover washer / spin drier. I also had 2 babies so this was great for keeping up with the cloth diapers.
This is a great little machine. I could use that in my one bedroom apartment. I am allergic to scented soaps and have to use the building machines which always have some scent left from previous users. Its also very quick and removes more moisture than the big machines....very cool. Thank you.
Wow! Soap bubbles from the past.... either 1969 or 1970 I had a Hoover spin dryer just like this and I loved it. I was using cloth diapers back then for my baby and they got nice and clean. It's cool to see basically the same technology still alive today. 😊
I keep one on the countertop in my studio. Perfect for washing tie-dye clothing, really dirty items, and traveling with us in the camper. LOVE THIS WASHER!!
This is what I use when I visit Egypt. I always spin my clothes between wash and rinse to get as much soapy water out as possible. When washing towels, I run the spinner twice to get them as dry as possible. I love this machine for its simplicity.
Jenn, I do the same, and spin the wash wash water out, before rinsing this is how we also did on the old wringer washers too. It helps to rid the clothes of detergent residue better. Since my machine came with no running instructions, tried it with and without the spin between wash and rinse, and liked the results much better with the spin between. Also you can do several loads in the same wash water by going from least soiled to most and add additional detergent if needed as you go along, put the spun clothes in a basket. and then do the same with rinse, changing the water as necessary. this is how we did it in the old days - when I was young, and it will save you a lot on soap and water.
I have same washing machine, I put it right in my tub and use extension cord for plug. Makes it easier for draining water but definitely get a drain screen for your tub, it catches alot of lint. I do laundry every 3 days for family of 3 adults and 1 child.. I did ALOT of research.. I'm sooo beyond HAPPY I bought this washing machine, I've had mine for 2 years now, never had problem, and I DO wash clothes with grease and oil as my husband and son are mechanics!! Biggest thing is do not over fill your spin dryer!! I absolutely love this washing machine, still one of my best purchased products ever!! I have absolutely small apartment and very small bathroom and I store washing machine up against wall under hand towel rack!! I also bought myself a Panda Portable dryer($380 at home depot online), I've had dryer for 1 year now, no problems, works amazing!!. It's in my kitchen on a rolling cart, I bought window mount for vent tube, I would and have told everyone that's in small apartment or household with no or expensive coin laundry rooms to save up and buy this washer machine and dryer!! My 2 best purchases EVER!!! I've saved so much money, my electric bill only went up $6 a month, compared to $30-$50 weekly on laundry mat!! $120 for costway biggest washing machine and $380 with shipping included for Panda 3.5cu. ft. So worth the money!!!💗💗
@@PaulaCodo Thank you for sharing your experience!! I absolutely LOVE my washing machine!! I wish I know about it 6 years ago when I moved into my apartment, I spent sooo much money at laundry mats. *Also for anyone that is like me and wants to put In tub for no kitchen floor accidents(good way to clean floors/first time using it..lol) if you dont have shower head that comes with hose, get renter friendly hose shower head it makes for easy filling or get one of those big plastic circle buckets for ice with handles(Walmart or big lots) then get little buckets at dollar tree that looks exactly the same and fill your big bucket with water from bottom tub spout and use smaller buckets to fill the washer.. I use both methods so I don't waste time refilling every time I drain my dirty water. After spin dryer I use small little laundry basket from dollar tree to bring clothes to my dryer in kitchen.. got little system that works great for all!! Also I have reusable laundry soap bottles that 2 pumped is prefect for size of washing machine. I have 10 year old with autism that sometimes has night time peepee accidents and I wash those thick hospital pads, stuffed animals, even pillows... yes I SAID IT.. pillows (one at a time) stuff that in spin dryer for few seconds to get bulk wet out, throw it in dryer and there big fluffy and like brand new!! I've put my Costway washer through everything and I have to say ITS A LITTLE BEAST!!💗 also don't use super hot water with darks or to much laundry soap.. I also have the same washer machine and panda dryer. You bet is the best purchased. Do you have a method to clean the washer after you're done with laundry?
@@amoramor3712 Yes I definitely clean mine washer after all dirty cloths! I fill washer up with hot/warm water and use borax or bleaching powder and do half spin cycle.. when it drains out I use my shower sprayer and clean tub also..it cleans tub and washer! Hope that helps!!
This past Wednesday we had a flood in our basement from the city's storm drains backing up. Everything was under three feet of sewer water. The flood took out our washer, dryer, furnace, hot water tank, and everything that was stored in the basement. I had a portable washer similar to yours down there. It's the only thing that survived the flood. Right now this thing is a life saver. All my clothes were in that flood water. I still need to go to the landromat for all the quilts, towels, and blankets, but thank God I can wash my dresses and underwear.
I have the exact same one. Bought it March 2018. I had a regular sized type of twin tub in South Africa and used it for years. When I saw this on Amazon, even though it is half the size I bought it just because I loved the one I had. It is really amazing! I have a super large automatic Maytag, but I use this one instead🤣. I use the Maytag for blakets and other really bigger items. I wash all my clothes in one hour instead of one bundle taking an hour in the Maytag! I also love the fact that I can determine the wash time. Regular daily worn clothes are not so dirty that you need to wash it for an hour! The spinner does spin super fast and the clothes do come out nice and quite dry. Just make sure to put the plastic shield thingy that came with the machine into on top of the clothes in the spinner, otherwise it is going to "fling" the clothes up onto the lid and make a scary sound. Also, when I am done washing, fill the wash side with water again put a cap of softener in that and just push as much of the clothes I can in that and then leave it for a minute or two without turning it on. Then spin it out and fill the large tub up with more water if I couldn't fit all my clothes into the wash side all in one. My clothes are really much cleaner and softer like she said. I am looking to see if I can get a larger one with a water pump. I am very glad I bought this one though. And as I said, I bought it in 2018 and I use it 3 times a week and never had any problems with it! Thank you for this video too. I agree with you , this was a good investment. I wash outside (I don't have a drain for the water in my laundry room). I use the garden hose. This machine is very light, so not difficult to carry at all. I drain the water onto my tree too and the soapy water doesn't hurt the tree at all.
I used one in Japan (late 70s) and loved the manualness where I could reuse the rinsed water to wash another batch of clothes, sheets, etc. and I miss it. In other Asian countries the machine is specifically used to make yogurt.
I have had a machine like this (Della) for years and I love it. It is 101% plastic, I swear, but it just washes wonderfully. It does such a good job! Mine has its own pump.
I've had a twin tub machine since 2019. I work in clay and use it to wash my work towels that are encrusted with clay. Still going strong, one of the best things I've ever purchased.
Came across this video because I just purchased one. After I spin and get the remaining dirty water out, I place them back in clean water for the rinse cycle. That way the water runs clear on the final drain and spin. I love my little machine lol
Hard to think it has been 2 yrs! I pray all is well. Great video. It took me a long time of searching to decide which type of small washer to purchase. This really helped.
Paula, there's a hook shaped thingy to go on the trainer pipe so that you hook it onto your sink, and it will drain the water without the pfaffing about, also, there is an extra plastic guard to put in your drier to make sure the clothes don't fly out (like knickers getting wound around the dryer mount, also safer for you. I LOVE my twin-tub, too.🤗♥️🌺🦋
Back in the day my mother used a twin tube washer/spinner (1960s) for a family of six - it took her all day. It was state of the art after the old agitator/ twin roller wringer machine. Amazing to see it revived after 60 years.
How right you are, Paula. I bought mine (before Covid), but from Walmart. I put a wide board at the back of my shower, washer sits up on this shelf, water drains via the bath. Great little machine has never given a moment's trouble and has paid for itself several times over.
I've been using these for years. I just got a new one after 2 years. I got a bigger one this time. I'm a single person in an apartment and it's the best thing. Highly recommend. There are lots of brands. Look for size is my suggestion.
@@jamiestrand2772 oh that's no good. Idk where u got it, but my first 1 I got off Amazon. Then I put in a complaint and they refunded me the mo ey. Try that

Here in the US we have stackable washers/dryers. I bought one for my apartment as you did. I loved them! The dryer needs no ventilation either! I had them nearly 20 years! I used them until I had my 3rd. child, then gave them away!! Now, my life has downsized, I need one like yours! I’m going shopping!! 🕊🙏🏻🕊
I bought this. It works great I am on my second one in 12 years. Just got the new one this spring. I simply put it on my patio and run a hose with a nozzle. Let it drain on the Grass. This is my second washer because sometimes I have a smaller load.
Hi Ms Codo, my name is Sabine and I also live in Toronto. I was looking for a solution to save money and avoid having to go to the dry cleaner. I googled "mini washing machine" and I found your video. I placed my order right away. I used it for the first time today and I could not be happier. Thank you so very very much for sharing, this washing machine is going to improve my quality of life and my finances tremendously. Sabine.
My mom had a similar one of these. She would use the water for at least two washes before she drained it. Washed her dainties first then shirts next and rinsed while in the spin cycle. Saved a bit of water. Love this machine.
I’ve had a twin tub machine in the past and my mom used one for a time when we were babies. I’ve always rinsed the clothes during the start of the spin cycle to make sure all of the dirty water and detergent is removed from the clothes. I love how much water the spin cycle removes, helping your clothes to dry faster if you’re hanging them rather than putting them through the dryer.
realize this is an older video, but I have a Lot of clothing I Dont put in the dryer at all (t shirts etc. that I normally hang up throughout my apartment..and I'm wondering if> when you take clothing out after the spin cycle, >Is it Closer to Dry than wnen you do a regular load?? ?? thank you
@@izzyjones7108 you can spin them out for a longer time if you want and I found that the clothes were drier than when then come out of a regular washer. I had to hang my clothes to dry for years (very common here in Australia) and would only use a dryer in an emergency - we couldn’t afford to run a dryer when my babies were small. Even now I have an amazing washer and dryer and money is not an issue, we still hang our clothes out to dry 90% of the time.
I had a similar product (different brand) when I stayed in a small house with no washer or dry connection. I still miss that washer/dryer combo. It works great and you can use it practically anywhere there's a water connection.
I find it absolutely amazing that there is a video about these machines. When i first got married, these were the only machines available. Washed my babies cloth nappies (yes they were a thing) beautifully! You are in control of your laundry! The washing always came out clean and soft.
I have had my Costway washer for 2.5 years $ 112.00 for RV & love it. Was watching a woman scared to leave her apt & she bought one, Saved money & time. Washes all my leggings, shirts & intimates in 5 minutes (I feel that's all I need). I use Woolite #1 Tablespoon detergent at the end of water fill bc it will be too much suds. Plus if anything has long sleeves or legs I put some things in delicate bags bc it will get tangled up. In fact I stay & watch it & sometimes have to manually pull apart within the swirl wash. It is not that hard. You can wash a queen sheet & pillow cases at a time but I would not wash or load to the very top too much I think. I drain & rinse with fresh water. It has a small lent trap in the wall you remove to clean. The spin side is my fave bc it truly does come out practically dry but you can not put but half full & don't you dare forget the plastic topper for it. I even have used a regular sized washer & respund my clothes in this sweet spinner. SAY AGAIN I USE 1 TABLESPOON OF DETERGENT ITS THAT GOOD OF A WASH. 2.5 YEARS & STILL GOING. IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY BUT NOW I THINK THEY ARE CLOSE TO $150.00. Just my opinion on this appliance.
@@gwendolyngailstenersen4448 Very small amount of water used in comparison to regular washer Very efficient for a fast wash for grid down, rv's, small apartments. I wish I had room bc I'd buy a spare. I love it.
I am so glad to have a chance to see this video. Paula keep it coming for any of your brilliant ideas on savings, washing, groceries, home decorating etc. Very grateful, since I am on a early pension due to illness.
Nice video. I have watch other videos about these portable washer/spinner combos and I learned a couple of hints. I have seen others set the machine in the bathtub. Less or little water mess on the floor and easier to drain. This also frees up the kitchen area. Also others have put their washed clothing in the spinner to get out all the soapy water before they start their rinse cycle.
Excellent video! It offers good information and, for me, great nostalgia. I bought a Hoover washer like this (plus separate dryer which just plugged in a regular outlet) back in 1974 when I was a divorced mom in an apartment .... and my daughter was in diapers, as in cloth diapers! All these years later I still remember what a godsend that little machine was! 🥰 I'm quite tempted to have one now in my retirement apartment but I live on 3rd floor and would be concerned about my neighbor below hearing (or feeling) it spin. Our building is lovely but only 3 units for 31 apartments, and one dryer died months ago. I daresay you have helped a lot of folks realize they have a laundry option. Kudos!
My family had a similar washer back in the early '70s. I was able to buy the matching dryer with my very first paycheck. Your video has me thinking of getting this washer. Adding this to my "prepper" collection.
This would be perfect for me! I've always been afraid to try one of these portable washers but your demonstration has given me hope for a way to do laundry. And I absolutely love your little apartment. It is so beautiful with all the little touches you've added. You have great taste.
I love mine. It's so easy to use and it does clean your clothes well. I rinse my clothes 2 times..if you get one be sure not to over load it and don't use too much detergent. I use this for my trailer when we travel.
I love mine and I also have a portable dryer that I bought off Amazon for 50 dollars. It works great also. I was shocked how well they both work. Best buys ever.
I live in a tiny house and i have one!! I love it!! Runs very well and clothes are almost dry like u said!! This machine is a God send to me!! I highly recommend this machine!!
Thanks for commenting. I too have a tiny house, 397 sq Ft. Just me and my pup. I have a nook for w/d and bought one of the all in one units, not one of these. Much bigger and heavier. Takes a VERY long time to wash and dry - 2-2 1/2 hours would not be an exaggeration. Thinking this could be a great substitute. Free up some space and time. Great presentation.
I just bought one it looks like the one in the picture. I have just taken it out of the box. Thank you for the demonstration. This sure beats going to the laundry mat, by far I have to load everything in the car and drive. But wow I do believe it is a GREAT investment. Again thank you so much. Have a BLESSED day.
I completely agree! Start with small loads, assess, and adjust. My Kuppet has paid for itself since I bought it in 2020 - figured at $5.50-$6.00 per load over the past 2+ years I use a drying rack and a "shop blower" fan to dry most things; others I can hang on hangers to dry them fully. I LOVE my Kuppet; I can't stand our apartment laundry room - people don't clean up after themselves. IF I have to use one of the dryers, I wipe out the lint from the filter, take it to my sink and use a scrub brush on it, to get rid of dryer sheet build up and stuck-on lint, tap it dry, reinsert into dryer slot, wipe the tumble tub clean with a disinfectant wipe, THEN put my washed load in to be dried.
That is a big one! I have the smallest portable washer and spinner and I love them, cool video! I have been using one of these every Wednesday for nearly 2 years, for 5 people in our full time camper life. You don’t need to wash for 15 minutes, 5-6 minutes is totally long enough, I have my washer in the shower because it gets wet wet wet and it’s so much easier to just let the hose drain out into the shower drain. You also will come to find that you can cut the soaps down to half what you added just now and it does fantastic! This thing is so efficient compared to the big traditional machines. I wash in soapy water for 5 minutes, spin 1 minute to get the dirty soapy water out, set aside do as many loads as I need to in that same soapy mix, rinse all the loads for 5-6 minutes (keep adding water to keep it full), spin each load for 4 minutes and hang them to dry. Washing laundry in a real full size wash machine doesn’t make sense anymore. I have used a laundry mat 2 times in the last 2 years and both times I am blown away at how wasteful and expensive machines are. I can’t imagine ever going back, I used to hate laundry at my house to but now I feel good about it.
i got one after our laundry cost went up to $8 a week for 2 light loads..i also can do my 2 pr jeans..and full sheets and pillow cases...my water bill only went up $5 for month..beats $32!
Hi this machine is what we used to call in the UK a TWIN TUB, they used to be extremely heavy and bulky. i know i used to use one, but this is definatly an improvement on the old design.
Thank you so much!! Just saw this and I was thinking of getting one. I do have a washing machine and dryer but I wanted to get something like this for my dog’s and cat’s towels. Great video.
This isn't the largest. There are much larger portable twin tub washers. I had a 30lb capacity one, though I didn't like it because it didn't preform as well as one slightly smaller, in my opinion. I have found 19-26lbs capacity portable twin tub washers with spin dryers are most effective; especially for those with families.
I live on the third floor of my apartment with no elevator and would hate laundry day. But I bought a twin tub machine and a clothes rack to put on my balcony and now laundry day doesn’t suck. Being that I’m in Texas, the clothes dry even more quick. Best Amazon investment by far
@@PaulaCodo Not exactly the same, I live in Finland and can't find Costway, otherwise I would have. I think they all work near identical though, so I hope mine will be as nice as yours. Thanks for the video 😊
THANKS PAULA! OUTSTANDING SHOWING HOW TO DO ALL THAT CORRECTLY U ROCKKK!! I BOUGHT THE SAME ONE AT AMAZON!! ITS COMING NEXT WEEK! GOD WILLING!! ❤ NOW I KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN IT GETS HERE!! WITHOUT PANICKING!! CAS I'VE NEVER HAD A WASHER AND DRYER IN ANY OF MY APARTMENTS!! WE NEED MORE PL LIKE U!
its funny how things come back around. I remember my cousin had one of these in her apartment back in the 60's. They were made of metal then of course but it was the exact same concept with wash on one side and a spinner on the other. Pretty cool little unit.
I bought this one as well for our cottage. We are running everything with solar. I love my little washer, spin dryer. Excellent purchase for the price. It takes up very little space as well.
Australia used to have these twin tubs as standard pre-2000. Not sure if they're available any more, think my sister has as old one but my mum really misses hers, now has a front loader. Usually much quicker, but fairly small loads. Not sure about water efficiency except you can use 1 tub of laundry water for multiple loads (whites, then lights, then coloured, then darks), maybe with small top ups if necessary. A bucket of water for a second rinse after spinning out the first time back into the washing tub ( not a bucket). Second rinse used to go down the drain, so did the wash water after you were done, last step so the spinning action doesn't walk your washer everywhere. Also squeeze or twist the drips out of your clothes back into the wash tub before you spin, makes it lighter in weight for the spinner so less wear & tear. ETA: this was a step up from the wringer washer we had in the States in the 60s/early 70s. So Mum was used to multiple loads through one lot of washing water & needing to rinse etc frequently at the end of a wash cycle separately from the washer tub. Actually used to rinse clothes in a separate sink of cold clean water before the second spin or wring out, both machines. Memories of getting my hand caught in the wringer while helping which later generations will never have.
You need to make sure you do a rinse cycle also or hook the hose up to where you spin your clothes and let the water go in as it’s spinning to get to soapy water out of your clothes
I have that exact machine. We had to live in our fifth wheel for six months while we were waiting to get our house. I absolutely love it. We were even able to wash our sheets in it for a queen-size bed.
I wash jeans in the machine I did three pairs at a time if it was two pair of my jeans and one of my husband's. If it's just my husband's jeans I only did two pair of time. But I did ring them out one at a time. It could probably handle ringing out two pair of jeans at a time I just never tried it
I generally washed two pair of mine and one of my husband's. But if I was washing my husband's jeans I only did two at a time. I rang the jeans out one at a time. You could probably do two at a time I just never tried it
THE DEAL GUY I am one of your subscribers. I bought this unit from Costway 5 years ago. I settled on this one because: 1) Costway is a known brand with a generous refund policy. 2) It has a large capacity. 3) This unit has a gravity drain rather than a drain pump. Since parts are not available once the drain pump dies your unit no longer has a functional centrifuge. The system I eventually settled on is to put it in my shower on top of 2 Gorilla brand steps stools for maximum drainage. This prevents souring or spillage from working with a bucket. I actually use an empty hand soap container for detergent. Two pumps or 1 tablespoon. 1 tablespoon if you use powder. More and you will have to rinse twice. 2 ounces of oxygen powder for tough loads but no chlorine bleach! It ruins the mechanical parts. The washer section has a 5 gallon capacity. I know because it use to sit on my front porch steps and was filled with 1 five-gallon bucket. By comparison, a standard top loader washer holds 20 gallons of water. You can wash 3 pair of jeans or two towels. Up to 6-8 shirts. A small throw or a bath sheet fits but not a twin sized blanket. It is best to test by fitting something in the dryer/centrifuge before actually washing said item or you will wind up twisting the item dry. First, fill washer compartment with items, then put in water and soap. There is no appreciable difference in putting in detergent before or after water. I found it easiest to use a drop down shower head rather than connect the accompanying hose by use of specific additional equipment. Set the left knob to desired timing and go do something else. Heavily soiled items like sneakers can be drained and washed twice, or even three times but if you don't change the wash water they won't get any cleaner. There is a gentle setting for undergarments, etc. Ladies, please hook all bra enclosures before washing to prevent tangling. I actually put my bras into a rectangular stainless steel basket from 5-Below which fits beautifully in the top of the washer compartment and would wash other items below at the same time. After the wash cycle start spinning the soapy clothes as you drain the washer. This has to be done in batches because this unit, like all the models, for some reason, has twice the capacity in the washer section as in the "dryer" section. (It isn't a dryer as we know it in the US. It is a centrifuge.) After the full load is spun out, rinse out the washer section, return clothes to the washer section and fill tank again. Rinse cycle literally takes half as much time. *Pro tip: Do not drain this load. Save the water for the next load if you have one. Just add soap. The spun clothes can be dried in one of two ways--either on a rack or, as I have done, add an additional shower curtain rod at the center of the shower and hang things from plastic Dollar Tree hangers. If you have a lot of laundry you can do both. Tee shirts, sweat shirts and sweaters are best hung by folding them in half over the bottom of the hanger so you don't get marks on the shoulders. Heavy items can dry faster if you flip them over on the hanger halfway through the process. Clothes sometimes won't dry before they sour if you only hang them up so I used a garage style fan which has a tilting feature pointed straight at the clothes. They are inevitably dry within forty minutes to an hour. Drying clothes with a fan also cools the apartment quite a few degrees so, since you are nerdy, (cute nerdy) you may want to use a thermometer to measure that difference. I like to hang up my clothes and turn on the fan just before bed. The noise and drop in temperature helps me sleep. THE DEAL GUY I hope this helps and you mention me during your video review of this item. PAULA CODO feel free to pin this post and I hope this helps.
@@PaulaCodo I accidentally killed my beloved Costway washer by flooding it over and getting the control panel wet. I wound up buying another one--Super Deal brand. Let me know if you want a comparison.
So glad I came here before fully starting mine! Just came in the mail, super excited tho!!
🙏 thank you so much for sharing that
Thanks, I just got one today. Doesn’t really have very good instructions.
@Terri Siler A simple check makes sure that doesn't happen. Besides, It's not going to work at all with water in the wringer side.
This type of washer/spinner was popular back in the 70's .An old idea made new again.
That's what I was wondering whether you can do another wash except use it to rinse. I have to have Downey!
So after you fill it back up you add a little softener then run it 15 mins again and drain then rinse?
@@anamiselrodriguez4380 Yes, just drain it after you rinse it the first time then add water, softener and run it again.
I do the same except I start with lightly soiled clothes and wash 2-3 loads before changing the wash water.
I love mine. Suggestion: Put it in the shower. Then use the shower wand sprayer to fill. And just lay empyting hose on the shower floor to drain. It drains completely and there's no schlepping buckets of water (with possible spillage).
She's got it under control lol
Great idea !!
How do you keep it quiet when it’s in the shower? I feel like it disturbs all the neighbors.
That's where I put mine. Works great there.
Totally agree!💕💕

That's a really nice thing to do for that young lady.. And I'm sure that she really appreciates it..
Sha T ... read my comments, 1 of them was supposed to be in reply for you 😊
Even the hand cranked machines work great for 5lb loads if you wash little and often, around $35.00 I believe.
How did she shower?
Personally, I don't see how it would be safe to put the washer inside the tub. Because when it's draining, there's sometimes an inch of water in there. Wouldn't that go inside the motor through the bottom of the washer? I put mine on a small table and drain it in the tub.
@@sharonbartley808These kinds of washers are lightweight enough that you just lift them out and put them on the bathroom floor while you shower or bathe, then put them back in.
@@judyromero2174You can set them on top of a riser, like a couple of plastic milk crates next to each other, if you want.
These types of washers are the best! They get your clothes clean and the clothes smell so clean.
I totally agree!🌸💕 thank you 🫶
As a kid, I remember my mother saving the rinse water from the washer and using it for the wash cycle of the next load.
Theres no such thing as wasted water. 😂 All water is returned via the water cycle table. WE all learn this in elementary school.
@@heatherjasper97 That's not waste tho. Lol. That's recycling.
Also, most people on the planet have well water and not recycled city plant water.

I'm disabled and have just started a disability pension in which gives me enough to eat 3 healthy meals a day, (for the first time in 4 yrs.). and I'll be able to save each month for things like this machine and other things I'll need. You've sold me on this machine,... lol
I appreciate you taking the time to explain this to me. I wish you the very best!🌸
How much did you pay for it? How about the warranty?
I wash everything except comforter and blankets! I put it in the tub to full and drain. I ordered Rinseroo slip-on shower hose because I have the regular shower head. This machine has made my life so much easier. I wash a few times a week. I have a king size bed and I wash a set of sheets. I also wash my towels(3).I would recommend this machine its my little blessing, so my days off are my days off. I love it!

If anyone is thinking about buying one, don’t hesitate cause it’s well worth it
@@PaulaCodo Yes, totally agree. And thank u , yes he’s doing good.
I was washing our reusable face masks in our salad spinner before it crapped the bed. Tried to clean it and it just can’t be taken apart obviously.
I use a 5 gallon bucket in the shower to wash my clothes. I've considered one of these washers but this video convinced me otherwise; it seems like more trouble than the method I currently use. Thanks for the info and for saving me money.
Not all heroes wear capes… some just show us how it’s done 😉
@@TheCindlbergen ,
The problem with the bucket system is rinsing all soap out then, wringing to dry__esp. with heavier items. 😏

I have a machine as well for my trailer. I love it!!! I don't take it for short trips but I do for long trips. I also use it in the shower...
How high does it make your electric bill? How many washes per week? Is it expensive to use?
10/20/21....I saw you WASH your clothes but DIDN'T see you DRAIN/add fresh water for RINSE CYCLE to remove detergent water so you can get wet clothes without soap residue.
THEN add more fresh water + run cycle 2nd time so detergent will be rinsed/then drained out in 2nd drain cycle.
THEN put clothes onto other side for SPIN cycle.
MIGHT buy 1 just for PREPPER PURPOSES...
SURE would be better than stick with bucket full of water!
So do you line dry your clothes?
@@PaulaCodo Actually, that second intake on the spinner side should eliminate the need to refill the washer side for the same load. Connect your water intake hose to the spin side, add your wet clothing, turn it on, then once it reaches full speed, turn on the water intake for that side. The fresh water while spinning helps spin the dirt out. Run that until you're satisfied the dirt has been spun out of your clothes, then turn the water off and allow your clothes to spin, as normal. I normally do one spin cycle with the water on, then one with it off.
These machines were popular back in the 70's, they actually were good little machines, had no idea they still made them.
Loads of fun to you too Eric, you are so funny thanks.
Blessings.
Yes, it’s beautiful. A lot of ‘white’ and I love that too!

Yes those Hoover washers were great. I wonder if they still make em?
😊
It will bleed the dyes out of clothes even older Jean's and tshirts!! I'm doing laundry now, so I'm thinking of all the tricks and tips I learned from my experience that I wish someone would have told me..But I'm nothing but IN LOVE and HAPPY with this little machine!! I have nothing bad to say and I've had mine for 2 years!!💗💗
Sorry so long, like I said I'm doing laundry now and I have nothing but good to say!!💗 hope your having great summer and staying healthy and well!!🙂
I also have the same washer machine and panda dryer.

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry you went through that the weather is crazy everywhere. I’m glad you’re safe. Things can be replaced people can’t.🌸💕
Make yogurt? A washing machine makes yogurt? How and very interesting. :)
@@suzz1776 look up "washing machine yogurt" here in RUclips's search. 😊
Well you can use a harbor freight cement mixer to wash clothes with so I suppose you could use a washing machine to make yogurt.

Came across this video because I just purchased one. After I spin and get the remaining dirty water out, I place them back in clean water for the rinse cycle. That way the water runs clear on the final drain and spin. I love my little machine lol
That’s great to hear. Thank you so much.🌸

Hard to think it has been 2 yrs! I pray all is well. Great video. It took me a long time of searching to decide which type of small washer to purchase. This really helped.
No worries at all🫶…Re-search is a good thing! Glad this helped you 💕🌸
Paula, there's a hook shaped thingy to go on the trainer pipe so that you hook it onto your sink, and it will drain the water without the pfaffing about, also, there is an extra plastic guard to put in your drier to make sure the clothes don't fly out (like knickers getting wound around the dryer mount, also safer for you.

You need to have the machine higher than the bucket as gravity is the thing that let's the water out.

Your clothes last longer this way.
realize this is an older video, but I have a Lot of clothing I Dont put in the dryer at all (t shirts etc. that I normally hang up throughout my apartment..and I'm wondering if> when you take clothing out after the spin cycle, >Is it Closer to Dry than wnen you do a regular load?? ?? thank you
@@izzyjones7108 you can spin them out for a longer time if you want and I found that the clothes were drier than when then come out of a regular washer.
The spinner is key! I purchased something similar without the spinner. It really washed the clothes, the wringing them out is what was a real pain.
For a quicker dry, try adding 1-3 additional minutes at the end of the spin cycle. Love it. Thank you
That's what I was thinking is run them another time on the spin and they'll probably be completely dry and ready to hang.
This machine spins the clothes so well it doesn't need extra time.
Good to know about the soap, thanks

Nice!🌸 thank you💕
I'm quite tempted to have one now in my retirement apartment but I live on 3rd floor and would be concerned about my neighbor below hearing (or feeling) it spin.
I own a similar machine and it works better than my daughter's expensive Samsung washer!

A yoga pad or something similar may keep it from moving. I like this thing. Great for campers
I had one of these in the '70's until we started our family. It was a great machine and affordable. We sold it to another young couple!
My Kuppet has paid for itself since I bought it in 2020 - figured at $5.50-$6.00 per load over the past 2+ years
I use a drying rack and a "shop blower" fan to dry most things; others I can hang on hangers to dry them fully.

@Christine Sorrento I think it was about $400 Canadian when I bought it.
Mine doesn’t work
Australia used to have these twin tubs as standard pre-2000.
Would’ve loved to have this 20 years ago when I lived alone in an apartment, but it’s great to see new technology.

Hi Deal Guy big fan Because of your comment I’m going to sub this site first visit thank you
THE DEAL GUY I am one of your subscribers. I bought this unit from Costway 5 years ago. I settled on this one because:
1) Costway is a known brand with a generous refund policy.
