One tip from a couple that use the smaller unit, simple living Alaska (yt channel) . Is to spin dry the washed load before the rinse cycle. It adds a step , but the "spin" , between the wash and rinse , gets "out" most of the dirt remaining the cloths , before the water rinse :) give it a try and maybe , give the a shout out on their YT channel ? I am a first time viewer , but wanted to share the tip with your viewers to consider.

We also used a specially formulated non rinse liquid soap commercially for some items . Therefore just wash then spin (normal washing not very dirty.) The spin before rinse is excellent idea. This sort of thing is done commercially ie time verses money verses results. Experiment for your self. If you use wool wash is never rinsed or spin . Obviously I’m not talking about heavy soiled garments. Front loaders machine does wash spin rinse once then maybe rinse number two. We use these little machine as well as a 10kg front loader at home, always that item you do not want to go in the big machine.

I have this machine, used it for almost three years before it started having issues. Here is a handy hint for cleaning the filter: Turn filter inside out. Use a paper towel to wipe the wet debris from filter mesh. The wet debris adheres to the paper towel and easily transfers from filter mesh to paper with a couple of gentle swipes.

But if your a Boondocker with no electrical hook up it matters when running a generator... I want this machine but wattage is a key for most of us weekend campers, hunters, or fisherman.

I put a foot hose over the hose to catch the lint to eliminate lint going down the drains. I am 66 ears, three months and 16 days as of my comments. It is over six years and is the best washing gadget compared to regular size washing machines. I only paid around $89.00 and free shipping. I put the water in first, then the laundry detergent and let it mix and then turn on the time. As the washer starts washing, I put each piece a a time. This prevents the items from wrapping around each other. I wash according to colors and fabrics. Instead of putting more water in to rinse, I manually rinse each piece as I put into the spinner side. Very little time to do. I only spin for two minutes which is sufficient time, even for jeans and large towels. My utility bill is seriously dirt cheap each month. Saving time, money and energies having a washer/ spinner is one of the greatest inventions. Having regular size washers wasted time, money and energy. I also clean the filter after doing my laundry. I also dry out both sides to prevent mildew. Putting a knee high hose on the plastic hose eliminates lint going down the drain. It is extra protection of stuff going down the drain. I want to also mention not to put anything on top of the washer/spinner because the mechanism that operates both sides is underneath the doors under the panels. When I thought my washer/spinner was broken, I searched on RUclips. I could not find videos but I ended up using my common sense after seeing problems similar to mine. These washers/spinner may be small in comparison to larger washing machines, but in my experience, they allow my belongings to stay new for much longer times from one year to the next. Afterall, I am not hard on clothes. Plus when my grandchildren come over, I have them hand wash stains out of their items and sometimes put Shout stain remover before putting into the washer/spinner. I live in a senior citizen apartment complex that does not have washer hookups. I also get to save time doing in the comfort of my home at my own leisure time without having to wait on anybody else doing their laundry. What is even great is that I did not have to do my laundry in the building machines when Covid lockdown, reducing me getting any of my clothing items contaminated from others that did get Covid. Germs spread from others not properly doing laundry as well as not having great personal hygiene. I forgot to mention I have a two tier tripod clothes stand and three folding clothes stands. I do not use them all together all the time. Winter months requires more clothes layering than summer months. Thanks for sharing this video via RUclips. Also thanks for reading my comments. Smiles

Hoover made them in the 1960's/70's here in the USA and they were metal. My sister and I each had one when we lived in apartments. I now have a small 10 pound plastic one as a backup for my regular washer/dryer. It uses 240 watts on the washer side and 120 watts on the spinner side, so for a total of 360 watts, I can easily run it with one of my smaller power stations, even if the electric goes out. I also have a retractable clothesline and a drying rack.

After watching this and a couple of other videos about this washing machine I bought one for myself. I have had it for almost a year. I love it! I have two bathrooms and I keep it in the guest bathroom shower. It is perfect to let it drain and use the handheld showerhead to fill it up. She is right about using only a little bit of liquid detergent. No more than a couple of tablespoons does the trick… Depending on the detergent brand, Of course. I have no complaints and I would recommend it to anybody. It is great for small places where you cannot put in your own regular machine. For one or two people it’s great!
It is light enough for me to pick it up and tuck it away into a closet if I have guests.

Bought this same unit for my 1 bedroom apartment over a year ago. I place it my bathtub (unit is plastic so not heavy) on top of a couple of the large foam tiles that kids play on - reduces vibrations and noise. Use the shower-head w/cord to fill it and drain the unit in the tub water-outlet. I also clean the lint-filter every cycle. After the spin cycle, i place the cloth on a rack. All is dry the next day.
Best part is i dont have to go up-and-down to the basement laundry room - i can do my laundry while im doing other stuff.

I have this washer I’ve had it for almost 8 years it has been available that’s first thing second thing it does a great job but don’t over load any of the small washers and you’ll have a better result on your clothes. It doesn’t matter just do an extra load and they’ll all come out cleaner if you don’t crowd him I never washed more than 1 pair of jeans 👖 and several dark socks or a couple of dark shirts. The delicate setting doesn’t turn the speed down on mine. It works great but must be completely level.

From what I've been learning from some other videos I've been watching on the subject of "portable" washer/dryers, the lint trap is a HUGE feature because all the lint that it removes is that much less lint gumming up your machinery and reducing the lifespan of your equipment - that's why combo units tend to fail as quickly as they do, no lint removal.

I have the newer model that you unboxed lol! It does work really really well, and only needs like a tablespoon of detergent! You have to be mindfull of the materials you put it and what intensity setting you use, I was washing some reuseable cloth shopping bags and the impeller beat holes in them lol.
I was also impressed with the spin dryer. When they say dry, they mean it! I put some t-shirts through the spin dryer and after only a 5 minute spin they were practically ready to be worn.

I have one like this. I love it. If for some reason it stops draining just pour hot water thru it. Also, I put a knee high at the end of the house to catch more of the lint from going down the drain. It is a little more work than a regular machine but it cleans the clothes really well and you don't have to go to the laundromat. I spin my clothes out twice and it speeds the drying time down. With one spin cycle they still dry pretty fast. Jeans and pants definitely get two spins.

I travel in a class B and have one similar to your old unit in size and it’s been great to have when I take extended trips. It stores in my bath during travel and when I’m at my campsite I set it in the drivers seat when not in use. When I’m ready for laundry day I just bring it over to the open are near the slider and do laundry. I have a collapsible bucket I use to fill it and drain the water and the I empty the water out into either the sink or toilet (to balance out filling the gray and black tanks since they are smaller tanks than what a larger rig has) it’s been great to have and I have not had to use a laundromat. I use it when I have full hookups so plenty of water and access to dump the tanks. I found a little tent like clothes dryer that when folded up can store inside the washer side. It’s has an air blower that goes inside the tent that has a pole and arms for hangers when set up. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but hoping it will do the trick to speed up the dry time. I also have folded plastic hangers that also store in the washer when not it use.

I've had Costway and love it. My first one lasted about 3 years with nearly daily washings. When it did have an issue at the end, it was the dryer spinner. But even then the washing side still worked. I, like you, bought another about a year ago and I love it! In the meantime, I had additionally bought a hand crank backup old fashioned wringer, so that's a work around, if needed for if the spinner goes out. But you can't beat the price for 2-3 years of laundry. That exact version of Costway has been great. (Don't buy a Kuppet brand, though. Buggy.)

I see your YL oils in the background. I highly recommend switching to their laundry soap. No harmful chemicals and you won’t have to be concerned about suds. It is concentrated, so one bottle can be diluted down to make four bottles. We are a family of 8, with smaller dirty boys and teens, and one bottle lasts us almost two months. I’m not selling anything, lol. Just sharing a helpful and healthy tip. God Bless

I have had 2 of these so far (gave the first to my aunt due to slum lords no extra water using device policy) and I love them! Great little washing machines. The only downsides: 1.can't do large comforters. 2. Even when using liquid fabric softener, your towels aren't gonna feel soft like they would using a dryer, but that's a clothesline issue not exclusive to these

I have had both portable versions of the washer, spin dryers you have used and now replaced in a small apartment. They are fabulous machines but after a while a motor on one of the compartments goes. I now have replaced my old machine with just a small table top version that holds a lot with no dryer and bought a superate manual dryer. The twin washer dryer are great, but eventually there is burnout on one side with the motor. I did get my money worth for about a year to 2 years previously for 1 Machine and 1 year for the other machine. Just frustrating they don't last longer I.e motors in machines. Some peoples only last for 6-8 months. I would love to see a review on yours in 6 months and 1 year then 2 years on here.

It's all about the Giantex washer/spin dry COMBO. Then pairing that with the Costway portable mini dryer. You will never have to go to a laundry mat again to wash clothes (as long as you have full hookup). That was one of the first upgrades I did in my 5th wheel. I cut out the shelves in the bunk house and slipped them both in. Tapped into the Outdoor kitchen plumbing for an on demand source of water. No moving it in and out of showers. Water fills up on its own just a push of a button. Ten times easier than the model shown in this vid and only $40 more.

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  2 года назад

That is a great option if you have the space and plumbing in place to do it. Unfortunately, our 5th wheel doesn’t have an area we can dedicate to the washer/dryer. Thank you for sharing that info and thank you for watching!

@@JouppiOutdoors the combo washer/spin dry is smaller and I found longer hoses to reach the plumbing. But if just using the combo washer alone and keeping it mobile (as in this video) the combo is indeed smaller and lighter.

I have been using a 'twin tub' washer in my home laundry for 25 years. I have just upgraded to a 22lb washer so that I can wash doonas. This washing machine saves so much water if used properly as you can use the same water for 2 or 3 loads. Start off with lights and go to dark colours changing the water when necessary. I love my twinny and will never have any other sort. FYI, I wash All my washing first and spin each load then I fill the tub with rinse water, gradually rinse and spin each load. Common sense.
